  1. Okay, I have an old tank bag that I have been using as a tail bag but is it coming apart and just doesn't work really well for my needs. I need something that will be big enough for my laptop, thats my biggest concern. I also cannot use a magnetic tank bag because my tank has a platic covering and I don't think I can strap one down due to the fairings so I'm stuck with a tailbag. And I do not like using a backpack due to the weight and if I crash, don't like the idea of coming down on my laptop or other items. Does anyone know of any quality, decently priced tail bags. Or any other ideas of luggage that would work for me? Thanks. Here is a pic of my bike:picture.php?albumid=534&pictureid=8501&thumb=1

  2. Since I am National Guard I was instantly shot down for the prmotions so I will have to earn all of mine the hard way.... but i will be going active pretty much immediately as i will most likely deploy as soon as i get done with AIT and get a tour done right off the bat before i try to go back to school full timee
Do you know if you are deploying yet? You should already know what NG unit you are going to and should be able to check their rotational schedule to see if they are set to deploy. Do you want to go to the sandbox?
Congrats Jess. Enjoy it. Because when you are done and out you WILL miss it.

Yes you will. Something to think about though. If you go active, stay in for 20 years you could retire. Then get a DOD civilian job, do 20 more years and get a second pension. If I'd have done the I could gotten one pension at 38 and a second at 58. But there were other circumstances... But the active army is MUCH different than the NG. If you want to go active you need to do it before the NG corrupts you, and it will. I saw it first hand.

I wasn't Army though. We actually did stuff. :D

Tsk tsk tsk, yeah right.

  3. Congrats. It's a hell of a feeling to complete BCT isn't it? Like Mojoe said, hold yourself and your fellow troopers to the standard. Remember those that have worn that uniform before you, make us proud!!!

Good luck at Ft Gordon, I hear that place is a shithole, and we had gotten some really crappy soldiers coming from there. Good Luck.

  6. Good information there. I'll have to keep an eye out on those forums.

If I wanted another Mosin, I'd buy one. I'm looking for an AR this time. Try to keep up :D

At least someone picked up on that - I was beginning to wonder what was going on around here with everyone trying to send me to a dealer.

I appreciate the offer to teach me how to shoot it, but I'm pretty proficient with firearms already. When I do get one, maybe I'll let you look at it :D

Will you let me touch it??:p

  7. I can't offer you any other info on buying one other than what has already been given. I do understand WHY you want to keep it a personal sale and that is a very smart move on your behalf. I will say this about them if you don't already know;

They are a good, accurate weapon but you need to keep it clean and well lubricted. They do not like to be dirty. When you finally buy one, let me know and I'll show you how to shoot it. :D

  8. "at one point was travelling more than 70 miles per hour, according to the dashboard camera, as he and Anderson returned to Milford after a mutual aid call in West Haven"

"Mello confirmed that neither Milford cruiser had its light bar or siren on, and that neither officer was being dispatched to another call at the time of the crash."

So they were on their way BACK from a call, without light/sirens, not being dispatched to another call doing 70-94mph? Looks like they were racing to me. Very sad.

  9. That's awesome!

I suspect he didn't shoo her away was because he either knew the cat or didn't expect her to do that... most stray cats won't do that... hell most domesticated cats won't do that.

Also small tip for those that want nothing to do with cats, don't ignore them, stare them in the eyes... cat's view eye contact as a sign of agression with people they don't know.

I am staring at your avatar now. lol j/k
