  1. Oh, by the way, I have a feeling you posted this up just to use the tags that you thought up today...
  2. Moar leather!!! I think there's a competition to see how can have the most crap bolted on to their bike that does nothing beyond adding weight.
  3. You forgot the Hookers and blow (aka I don't care) option in the poll!
  4. I'd chip in a couple more $ to make it happen, if enough people were to participate in funding it.
  5. 5/8" = 16mm (pretty close, one of the closest standard vs. metric socket fits.) You need to get your hands on a spark plug that's not in the engine (buy one?) and take it with you to see which socket fits. Go to Autozone (or wherever) and see if they have a spark plug for your bike, and chances are that they'd pull it from stock for you to find what socket fits. I don't want to discourage you, but a project such as you have is not a very good idea for a first bike, unless you're very mechanically inclined.
  6. I've seen anywhere from 10-12, all the way up to 20+! It's looking like the turnout will be good for this one, if all the banter in this thread is any indication!
  7. I have done this. A friend told me once of a class he was in or something where the people didn't believe in countersteering. He said he tied off a piece of string to the end of a bar, and got the bike up to speed. Then he pulled on the string, to prove what was happening. I think it was all experienced riders, too. Ya know, taking your mind out of it is exactly how I have put it before! So many times I've been riding and thinking about the road surface, or a car in the other lane. Just look at the end of the turn, where you want to go, and all will be good.
  8. The dash sux, but the $4k to get the domain without it sux even more!
  9. I hope that we're not discouraging anybody from joining the ride, as I'm SURE nobody had that intention. All this helmet, gear, and speed talk is just for safety, and I don't think anybody is trying to bash anyone. I think all of the Kat's (and others) that made it through some of Coshocton is an indicator that all the new guys are either good riders, or smart enough to stay within their abilities, because I KNOW a few of the curves we hit would've taken out someone riding over their head, easily! I know this time I'll be on the 250, the Hon-duh needs some suspension work for me to be confident doing that sort of riding.
  10. Now I need to obtain a copy of that DVD...
  11. I'm surprised that crime numbers aren't UP with the condition of the economy...
  12. Too busy shooting, game watching, chili making, and bring rep back. Prayers are still going up for you, Ben!
  13. In for the mad rep! Is that like pissed off rep?
  14. Wow man. Prayers for comfort going out for you, his family, and his other friends.
  15. 5K miles since 04? Really? I ride about that EACH year, and I live less than 2 miles from work, and not much further from most places that I go regularly!
  16. Well, he did back when he rode... Now that you mention it, I don't really know! I've not paid much attention to it! I'm guessing that I just make sure I get a pretty good lean angle going as soon as I take off. I'm going to have to go for a ride later, just to see!

Not both? I'm probably not doing either though, FML...
