  1. I don't know why the F#CK this damn forum won't let me post pics, post links, or quote people, but anyway...

Jennings just posted on their forum that you should sign up now because spots are filling up quickly for this weekend... Mock races on Sunday... and apparently tons of pros signed up.  (See "So you think you're all that...?" stickied in the General Discussion forum)

This is going to be an epic weekend!

I'm going to sign up for Intermediate to start and see how it goes.  What are you guys thinking, Trmn8tr and OSUYZFR1?  And the rest of you fools?  Wanna make sure I have some friends to play with!

Cool, I'll sign up shortly. I'm signing up for intermediate on sunday and advance/expert on monday. I have a hitch mount nomar that I can bring if there is enough room so tires changes are free. :)

  2. I think 2 days at Jennings is all I can do, mostly because of vacation at work. I have a lot of stuff planned already for this summer and 3 weeks goes fast.

It really doesn't matter which 2 days, I'm open to either Sat/Sun or Sun/Mon. If we did Sat/Sun, my plan would be leave Thurs immediately after work and drive as far as we can get. Do the rest of the drive Friday, so we can get there and be ready for Sat morning. Do the track days, pack up Sun and start heading back as far as we feel like. Then make the rest of the drive Mon. If we did Sun/Mon, I would do pretty much the same itinerary, just push it back a day.

I'm def good with sat/sun. Think I can make sun/mon work but have to work out a few things first.

  3. Paging Hollywood, are we going or what?

Right now it's just the 2 of us, and I know we both would like to have at least 1 more person to share the ride/gas with. Anyone still on the fence looking for a ride? We are in Cleveland and could stop in Columbus on our way down if needed. Anyone already going with 2 bikes that would like to join up with us? I can fit 4, and the crew cab fits 4 comfortably. Gas would be cheap if we split it 4 ways. If we don't find at least 1 more we might be out.

If you're still looking for a ride, hit me up and help make up my mind to go!

Like Brando said, we really need at least one more guy or gal (two more would be great) so we can commit to this trip.  Funds are tight for a broke law student and we need some more people to split this gas bill with!  Also, I might just go to the casino tonight and see if I can make a little come up, haha.

If we can get two to join us, I'll officially commit!

What days are you guys looking to go? I really want to go but don't want to trek down there alone.

  4. He's not lying about this center-stand, though. You have to put a lot of heft into it -- I'm well over 300 lbs and I've stood directly on the thing, with one foot, and it still took a pretty solid jerk backwards to get it up onto the stand.

It can be done, but I'd shudder to think about what it'd take to do it without 3 decades of poor nutrition.

I always lift upwards from the seat area not backwards while pressing on the stand and they come up like nothing. Lifting backwards is way more difficult.

  5. Highly doubt garages will be available on the 18th. Couple years ago they had a track day on Thursday before the race and the teams were all rolling in at the end of the day. They actually had us pit on pit row.

    They are 50.00 normally.

  6. los guachos tacqueria (it's in a plaza on the corner of godown and bethel). thank me later. if you don't know and scoff at tacos, go fuck yourself and stay the fuck away from my tacos

This. Place is getting quite the following now. Next thing you know it'll be like Thurman's which I love but never go to anymore due to the wait.

  7. Another advantage to the gift certificate deal....used mine a day in advance with no late fee penalty, as long as they are not full they will take the cert.  I'll never ride Mid-O in the wet, mornings after a cold night are bad enough.

Yep, the frequent rider program is nice also. No late fees, I would sign up the day before after I knew what the weather looked like and pay regular price.

  8.

Mid-Ohio is closer, but also the most expensive track day around.

I always hear people say this but when you factor in MO provides lunch it's not that much more for just the track day. They also provide bottled water which isn't much money but a nice perk. The rest of the equation depends on your distance from the track. For me in Columbus and getting 10mpg trailering up its by far cheaper to go to MO than any other track. That's the main reason I haven't gone to Putnam or grattan yet.
