  1. Pretty sure if you do l it that way you will not be able to watch TV without the receiver on.

Depends on the receiver. Mine has HDMI pass through which allows audio and video to pass when the receiver is off

Does anyone know if you have to have 7 speakers on a 7.1/7.2 receiver? Seems like the sound might be jacked up if you don't. I wonder if there is a setting that you can switch?

Everyone I've seen allows you to select what speakers you have so you don't need to have all 7. It will probably take the sound from the two channels turned off and send it to to the other channels. Assuming you use 5 channels.

  2. I will second this. I have a 42" Hitachi plasma in my bedroom and if I leave the door closed, it will definitely heat up. Not really a huge problem though, just open the door.

How old are these? I have a Panasonic from 2009 that gets hot but my new one doesn't and it's even bigger than the old one. They also have narrowed the gap regarding energy consumption. My new panny doesn't use much more electric than an LCD.

  3. The groups are fine.  The issue is that when you have a self evaluation system, you get guys that "think" they fit into a group when they do not.

This. I think there's way too many guys that just want the 'A' sticker on their bike and not really where they need to be to run A. Honestly I think it's getting worse. I know when I moved up I was really worried about holding people up so I waited. I've heard guys in A running lap times that I turned my second intermediate track day. I would have never thought about running A with those times.

You also hear guys talk about don't worry about your times just run good lines which is true but when there are multiple guys bunched up running 10-15 seconds off the pace it's not fun. The worst was MO after the AMA races.

  4. I agree with Brian ,lots of people show up who have no business to ride at twilight.1:50 it's not twilight pace, more like first group in novice.track condition was very good, even later when get cooler the grip wasn't that bad.

Seems like its always that way. Was is worse than usual?

  5. They're not big words at all...if you think they are then it might be time to expand your vocabulary.

Why would you be able to buy an Audi at a Porsche dealer? Porsche doesn't own Audi...they're both owned by the Volkswagen holding company. You can, however, buy Audis and Porsches at many Volkswagen dealerships.

And you can't order Lamborghinis at Volkswagen dealerships because they keep the line separate from the rest of their holdings. Audi owns the company, but the Germans don't have much input on the creation of the cars, as evidenced by the Aventador's creation history. Aside from major company decisions and such, Lamborghini does what they want with their line, and they keep separate from the rest of the holdings of Volkswagen.

As for Ducati, Audi gained 100% rights over the company's decision-making through their Lamborghini subsidiary. It happened sometime last year.

Aside from your first post, you haven't responded to *any* of my issues or points in this thread. Since that point you've done nothing but used rhetoric to try and make your point through logical fallacies or false application ("You're definitely right, I'm an idiot").

    :eatdrink:

  6. I didn't know you had one!  Get with me on some chassis numbers and what model you have.  The bike has amazing feedback.  Is agile to the point that it almost oversteers.  Not a single wobble from mine at speed and I think you can attest that I can get mine up to speed pretty good.

We found some really solid chassis changes this past Monday.  They are brilliant and even Carr was impressed as he hadn't tried them yet.

I've not yet experienced a real issue on heat on street rides.  But, all Ducs are pretty hot so, it may be that I am used to it.  My Diavel roasts me a bit also...  I dunno.

The footpegs is a new one and I can see where you are coming from.  They are not the best stock pegs out there...

Well it's not mine but I have it for the next couple years. I'm storing it for a buddy. :) Its a standard. The peg thing happens when I try to get setup for a corner as I slide off and lean forward my foot slips off. I'm like wtf. Yeah I was going to ask you about suspension. It seems too harsh at defaults for the street. I tried softening it up and now it wallows around. I'm sure it just needs dialed in. I think the steering damper needs changed also.

  7. I'll give my two cents on my experience with the Pani. I love the looks of the thing and it does have nice power. Been riding one as a street bike for the last month or so. I don't really like it as a 'street' bike. I'm sure it would be awesome on the track but here are my gripes. The seat is a brick, the exhaust roasts you not just sitting in traffic but even at highway speeds, my foot has slipped off the pegs multiple times, stock it's obnoxiously loud. I haven't been able to get the stock suspension setup to where I have any confidence in it, maybe I'm just used to my pig of an R1 but its way more stable leaned over. Maybe replacing the steering damper would solve that as I've gotten wobbles while leaned over which is definitely not confidence inspiring.

  8. Do they run Intermediate and Advanced at the same time or switch back and forth?

I and A run together. It's open track the entire time. Every 30 minutes they throw out a red flag, once the track is clear they go green again. If you want to stay on track you can, just have to roll through pit lane and wait for the track to go green.

Like was mentioned above they don't verify your riding experience so it is up to you to decide if you are comfortable and capable. Not everyone out there should be.

  9. Not everyone, just everyone on OR.

It's a 170 horse bike. Don't take it the wrong way, it's a great bike. It handles awesome it's very fast, the Crossplain engine can't be beat. The problem with that is, you're looking for a street bike. Good street bike an R1 does not make. IMO.

FZ1 is a good street bike if you ask me, but so is an SV. YRMV.

These theads crack me up. I happen to have a crossplane and think it works fine as a street bike. I prefer riding supersports vs standards as I don't like sitting straight up. I've done numerous 400+ mile rides and don't get tired or have back pain afterwards. Everyone is different so let the OP get what he wants. Sounds like he might not be ready for a literbike but based on this thread no one is so who cares.

  10. I take my daughter on the crf50 around the yard. She's 3.5 and sits in front. She's getting to the point where I let her control the throttle. I just tell her when to gas it and when to let off. She has a blast and so do I hearing her giggle the whole time.

  11. Ah, ok. I remember him telling me he had someone who he normally took his bike up with in a trailer. I'm guessing he'll use his pickup... If it'd work out better, I could do the 15th instead, I don't even know if Brad's planning on doing all the 15th through 18th... He said he's doing all of em since it's free for him, but that's a lot in a row, heh. I still need to call Mid-Ohio though to buy a spot. Brad said to check into their gift certificate since he thinks if you do that, you can change days if it happens to rain, so you can switch.

He invited me to go up to the most recent Saturday twilight in June to check it out, see how it's organized etc, but I was riding most of the day. I was still planning on going up, but got back later than I thought, started to head up there at 6:30pm and ran into a massive downpour on 71-N on my way, so I figured people probably called it quits at the track by then. Tried to call him to see if he was still there, but his phone was off.

Think he's planning 15-16th. 17th and 18th are wera races. Gonna be my first time racing.

  12. He goes to the same gym I do, we've both gone there for years, same with Dave who's got an R1. I'm only planning on doing probably 1 track day this year though, my 919 isn't necessary the ideal track bike. I'm planning on getting an SV650S the end of this season or beginning of next for primarily track days for next year, and save up some money for either a pickup or cargo van for transportation. For the 16th I'm either going to have to ride it up and strip it at the track or see if I can hitch a ride with someone's who's got trailer/pickup space.

Cool, check with brad on the 16th. Normally, I would be taking his bike in my trailer but I'm taking the 16th off. I'll be there the 15th, 17th and 18th.

  13. Do you know a guy named Brad that was there? He was probably there, rides a BMW S1000rr, won free track days for this year. He and his friend Dave have talked me into doing my first Novice on the 16th.

I do. Thats who I do most of my track days with. How do you know him? He wasn't there for the twilight though. Track was awesome, was told only 15 riders registered.
