  1. Hey Meef, Get tired of being hassled by the Left Coast Mods on ADV?
  2. Yeah, in general when guys start laying down the bucks for a KTM they are pretty serious about their riding. In so much as I don't wanna scare anyone off, this is not an enduro ride. Trails are not marked, but the week before I can e-mail a GPS route to those who want one. This is a group ride and there will be novices and experienced riders together, so if your "that good" try to help out those who arn't. I'll try to keep a good pace and will wait for the last guy to make it at turns. As we often say, "No child left behind". I'll have a freind of mine play sweep.
  3. True, the dicks at the CC Co like to stick it up your @$$.
  4. Too bad the guys name wasn't dick.
  5. Only if it's a 950 SE, I don't wanna be hauling any 950 adventures out of the mud. Been there, done that.
  6. Look forward to seeing a lot of new and familiar faces then. Hopefully I'll get the 426 repaired by then but if not I know the KLr will work too.

    Bent rim

4600 Gateway Cir. Kettering (937)291-2332 Got the rim back, tire is mounted, rotors back on and on the bike. F'n rain Price was lower than I was quoated ($155) and because they burned the powder coating straightening it the touched it up free. In talking with one of the guys he said compared to cage rims the bike rims are harder to judge. If you're local to them I definitly would recommend using them but they under estimate the turn around time, so add a couple days to their estimate. Still 5 days is not bad for that price.
  8. I was on the V-strom, I kept joking with them I felt bad because it was like riding an easy chair on the long straight roads. Jon and Tom never complained and their choice in rides payed off big time out there when roads were unpaved. Reason # 5 the front rim on the V-strom had to be repaired.
  9. Lots of us that can't find jobs right now. So if you have a job be thankfull!

What's up trouble? Can't afford the 950 Adv yet so gotta run the V till it drops.
  11. Glad to hear at least someone is finding a job. Congrats!
  12. It's the stops and side routes that kill your time. Yellowstone in four days can be done if you go straight there across 90. But there'd be little or no time to explore the area. I'd love to go back to Sturgis and ride the surrounding areas again. Needles is awsome and has some wonderfull roads to wander around on. The worst part was Crazy Horse. Tourist trap, Nothing to really see. And don't bother going to the mall at Rushmore. Stop along the road and get your photos for free! Crazy Horse
  13. A ride to Mount Rushmore is very doable in 8 days! We had a KLR 650, Honda 650XL, and V-strom. Day three 9am we were at the Bad lands, followed by Mount Rushmore, Needles, Crazy Hourse, Lead and Deadwood. Day Four we left Sturgis for Devils Tower and were in Livingston North of Yellowstone that evening. For a bit more relaxed ride try a ride up to the Adirondacks. You could take two leasurly days to get there, ride the park and surrounding area for four days and be back home easy with the last two days.
  14. New Headline, "bad chinese delivery could have killed cyclist"!

I guess turn around time and being close enough for me to drop it off and pick up are big bonuses. It's suppsed to be done today so we'll see what happens.
  16. Same rules should apply for driving any vehicle. Be polite, look for signals, use your signals, never assume they see you! I think the OP and SUV driver reacted very well to this situation. A hint on lane changes on the highway. When preparing for a lane change, after turning on your signal on do a "head check" to the side your turning. This is a physical action that really catches the attention of drivers as to your intention to change lanes and gives you a chance to check that blind spot!
  17. Sometimes pets plus has cheap basic training classes but I've trainned my own dogs. The best thing you can do is spend an hour a day for several weeks working with the dog. Use some small treats as rewards when commands are followed and use a leash so you can control the dogs attention. When walking the dog do not let it pull you down the street. Make the dog understand you are the Alpha and in control of the situation. Once dominance is established it is easier to create a communication system. As for jumping up, a "light" knee to the chest and a "no" is the first step. Reinforce good behavior with rewards. Dogs are like kids, they want your attention and will act up for negative attention if ignored. In their book bad attention is better than no attention.
  18. No AMA, putting this on myself as a group ride. The start will be out of Laurelville and will wind around towards McCarthur and end at Tar Hollow SP below the Dam. Right now Aug 9th is looking like the date but that won't be official till after VMD.
  19. London, England? Hey, just foolin. I'm a little north of ya. Welcome to the site.
  20. This is a group dual sport ride I've been working on for a while. Went to Tar Hollow today and put 107 miles on the YZ426 (it's dual sported and street legal) checking the tracks and seeing what would make a good ride. This will have everything! Paved, gravel, dirt, single track, hill climbs, mud (if we get rain:p), creek bed riding and even a river crossing! The Date and meet up is AUG 9th at 10 am at the gas station located in Laurelville at the intersection of 180 and 56. Till then here's some of the video from today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ai6CZyvcTCE
  21. Is your tank pressurized? You might have a clogged air inlet to the tank creating a slow vacume. It would explain why it started again after sitting.
  22. That's what I like to hear. Good people still exist no matter what their riding.

    Bent rim

Droped the rim off to Wheel Warehouse today. They evaluated it and gave me a price of $195 to have it straightened, another $60 or so if I wanted it coated. Should be done by next week, so we'll see when it gets done how good a job they do.
  24. Gotta be real carefull doing that, most stands are made out of some really cheap metal that's really porus. Plus it can cause the stand to stick out from the frame and become a catch hazard. Best answer wound seem to be to post a thread asking if anyone is looking to lower their bike and simply swap linkages.
  25. Two option. 1 Cut and reweld the kick stand so it's about 1/2 an inch shorter or 2 find someone who's lowered their Ninja and ask for their old linkage. Might also find a female who wants to lower her bike and just trade linkages?
