Good find. She really describes the situation well from a victims standpoint and I lover her Brady comment. It wasn't an assault rifle he was shot with, it WAS a .22.

So with the rush on Ar's can I sell my AR7 for $1000 now?

The bitch with 303 is finding surplus ammo like I used to be able to get for $5 a box.

I thought the information I posted made it clear I was focusing on the effect of video games on kids, although the effect is shown to progress into adulthood as any childhood experience does. You got it. I know you and Swing are parents. So I'd like you to think, do you know parents with kids who are overtly hostile? Are the parents that way? What other influences do you see as causes or are these kids just damaged goods?
-
Was that an adult or a kid who did the shooting?
-
Sorry, posting too fast Brian.

So do you plan to let your kid have unlimited access to violent video games and movies? Why not? It's just a scapegoat. Come on Casper, you love your kid more than that and so does Carrie. Not to mention I hope you are a more involved parent than someone who parks their kid in front of a video game so you can have down time.
-
Nothing wrong with being skeptical, "Figures don't lie but liars can figure" But to those who've witnessed the effects on susceptible individuals it is a no brainer to limit if not remove exposure.

Obviously it's not every kid or we'd see the end of civilization and YES parents do need to spend more time talking and explaining the reality to some kids. But I dated a woman who had a kid who fits a serious case study subject for the effect of these video games. At 12 he had already been removed for school for death threats and bringing a knife to school where he brandished it to other students. Being he'd already failed a grade he was older and bigger than his school mates. I told her to stop letting him play these games as it was obvious he was addicted to the violence and online play. But she was unable to balance a career with three kids and still be an authority figure. As his temper tantrums became more violent she proved incapable of keeping him from the games and a catalogue of violent films available over her cell phone which he would steal regularly. My time there was more of a distraction for her and I finally had to remove myself from the situation in hopes without me as a safety net she would have to face the situation. Or at least the criminal or childrens service system would have to step in. I will add that society also pitched this kid to the curb, because once expelled from school he could not attend any of the troubled kid schools around Troy because they were full and had long waiting lists from lack of funding and so many kids in serious need of help. So once isolated he turned even further to the video games and became more openly violent. The video games didn't cause the issue, it didn't teach him to behave badly but it sure as hell didn't help either. His favorite games were Modern Combat where he would replay the same scenes over and over finding more brutal ways to accomplish the mission each time. Add it up any way you like but the subjection of our youth to ever increasing violence in movies and video games is NOT healthy. Moreover parents like my X who used them as time occupiers in place of actual parenting and responsibility are fueling the issue in my opinion and that of many psychologists. Since the introduction of these video games these types of crimes have occurred. Read the research, the use of violent video games is part of a mental sickness that includes sleep deprivation, desensitization, and visual training all of which are used by police and military training programs. Outlawing the games is not suggested, it IS suggested that parents enforce the maturity ratings on the video games. So don't worry, their not coming to take your Black opps 4 video game, just asking you to stop playing it with your under 18 yo kid.

I almost had to pinch myself as you actually made one statement I agree with. I still don't understand your desire to outlaw guns since it has been proven again and again doing so doesn't reduce any crimes and in some cases increases them. It is like getting rid of all the nuclear weapons. Yes, they are dangerous and were developed with one primary purpose, but that day we need them for defense, deterrence, or maybe to destroy a rogue asteroid. We need to change our society to one that sees using a firearm to commit crimes or kill innocent people as undoable or not worth the risk. Enforcing video game restrictions is a big start. As Lt Col Dave Grossman points out all of these mass murderers played and show signs of addiction to war and criminal based video games. Read this->

+1, Agree 100%

Can you actually be serious? I doubt it. No one is this incompetent or numb in the head. So you fear every police officer you see? You fear every car driver putting you at risk? You must not fly in planes, go to the doctor or have tattoos? You obviously would see the imminent danger you are in trusting those people not to kill you. Please go back to your cave and hide! It's not safe out here because we didn't foam pad all the corners. You must be a joy to work with, "Dam Bob you almost killed me when you rolled your chair back from your desk".

[Rant! on?]:rant:Magled, you troll like you live under a bridge. Go f'n take the CCW class, have a meeting with the County sheriff and see how many people die because YOU have an itchy trigger finger and inability to make good decisions. Or don't because YOU think you have an itchy trigger finger and inability to make good decisions. But STOP making stupid statements based on your views as they are like listening to a premenstrual emo teenage girl who gets all her info from Justin Bieber. How have you managed to not kill yourself on a motorcycle? You must not actually own one as real bikes require split second decisions in heavy traffic. Something you fear. [rant~off]

Good resource for this discussion and why protection in our schools needs addressed NOW! http://www.blogtalkradio.com/theshootingchannel/2012/12/20/lt-col-dave-grossman-live-lets-protect-our-children#.UM-EZbC-I55.facebook

How about banning violent video games?
-
+1 Owning a dog that is capable of attacking is a plus and a liability. You should be prepared for both. That said, I do feel bad for the dog as it didn't know it wasn't supposed to defend against the guy with the blue suite.

How deep are your pockets? In a pinch I've done it but prefer the gun holstered IWB.

+1 I'm in no way enfeebled and would rather go mono e mono with fist blows or cage match style even, but the freaks of nature who seek to harm and kill others and use a firearm to ensure their superiority are not going to win by cheating with me. Magley lives in a world of bliss and that is his choice. I know others like him and their choice in no way effects my decision to concealed carry or if needed to provide my help to defend their freedom. In return I simply ask that they not tie my hands or enfeeble me with laws that only protect would be criminals and those bent of evil deeds.

+1 I really liked my friends M&P 22. I have been gun shy of any semi auto .22 since owning a Beretta that was a POS. But the M&P preformed very well right out of the box. Plus it's a fixed barrel so it's accuracy is pretty good to when compared to my single six. Down side would be the black on black sites. I would advise changing that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oc81TCyPlAI

Seems she should have acted on those worries and not given the nut case access to guns.

When I listen to this on the news they like to cover every aspect accept the, "massacres keep happening in places where guns are not allowed", point of view. Think there is a motive behind this? To those who actually believe banning firearms would keep them out of the hands of these mental cases I ask, "How well did the war on drugs go"? Pot has been illegal for all of my life, yet I know many of you smoke it and have no trouble obtaining it whenever you want. So tell me how this ban on guns will go. Tell me how it's worked in Mexico, England, or other countries with strict gun laws. It hasn't and the mass killing in Europe. Norway Mass Killer Gets the Maximum: 21 Years. How many kids did he kill in a place with strict gun laws? The problem is people. We have no system to identify, detain and help mentally disturbed people. Instead we provide token prison sentences for when they start breaking laws and then reduce them because care givers proclaim they are mentally ill and don't know better. It's easier for parents, care givers and friends to simply ignore these people. Well, that is till it's too late and bodies are on the ground. You want gun control? It starts at home. Lock and secure weapons and ammo in a "real" gun safe. If you have a carry weapon, keep it on you or secured at all times from children, family and those who might access your home either lawfully of illegally. There is a guy in Oregon who didn't and a dead Mom in Ct who didn't either. Prayers and sympathies to the families facing the aftermath of another insane 20 something year old.

Think they'll turn off the lights for you? Which reminds me I wanna try and do some low lighting shooting with the tactical light on the Glock. Wonder if I can find 9mm tracer rounds?

Funny part is it looks a lot darker in the video than it really was. I could see 300 ft to the back stop easy as well as lining up front and read sites.

I bank with Western Skies, the money is expensive but at least you know your gonna get screwed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1qWoOljtjE
