  1. They are both good guns. Personal preference, maybe cost would be the only reason to consider one or the other. I personally like the 870 style due to the safety not being tang mounted. I think the 870 is easier to take down than the 500 / 590, too. A few options if money is a factor: Mossberg offers a factory barrel refinishing service for a flat $35. You could buy a clapped out 500 (with a solid action) for cheap and have the barrel finished like new for very little. NEF / H&R has a Chinese made clone of the 870, the "Pardner", which is new around $180. I bought a used one for next to nothing not too long ago expecting a total POS... but it is actually a very well built gun. I now like it better than my 870... with the 18" barrel and 5 shot tube it balances perfectly. Disassembly is the same and parts interchange with the 870.
  2. Indeed. I have watched a lot of your posts, and I think you are a turd, so I felt like being an i-dick to you for a bit. Cheers.
  3. Jared: I wouldn't stir shit up with Tyler, he's a bad dude. I mean look, he clearly has a gun, a knife, and brass knuckles accessible to him... and that's just what is in his avatar. I bet he has a whole world of hurt behind the scenes that he could unleash on you if he felt the need. Just call and leave a message, since he is between secretaries (which actually sounds like fun), and apologize or he will take a cab over to your house and fuck you all up. (Edit) Take a cab, hell; he could ride his bike from the 10 thousand block of Lynns Road to your house in Pickerington in just a few minutes. Apologize immediately, lest he ninja assail you from a Huffy in the dead of night... He might also fuck you up with his eyebrow ring, or use heavier methods on you...
  4. There ya go. I love backroads, gravel, one lane farm roads... I find myself riding like a world class asshole when I have to be on the freeway, it makes me insane. I don't hate city riding, in fact I think it is good to ride with some regularity in heavy stop and go traffic like city traffic, it keeps you on your toes. That said, I prefer not to do it a whole lot.
  5. Fuck him he sounds like a D-bag, hope he got a ticket. ...and the thread title indicates that because the D-bag captured the attention of the officer, the officer wasn't following or stopping the OP...
  6. "I had to lay 'er down... and you shoulda seen the other guy"
  7. Iron Bridge Inn south of I-80, south of Mercer, on US19 is a nice destination, and the 2 lane state routes around it are nice. They have a kick ass Sunday brunch, (edit) which you will be late for since I am posting at 3:00pm... http://www.springfields.com/ibi_files/ironbridge.html
  8. Oh, well, I did not know they had captain's chairs. That changes my opinon entirely.
  9. Almost certainly OSP, they run the only plane(s) I know of. However, they do work with other agencies in larger operations so it is possible that an OSP pilot communicated to a non-OSP officer who ended up stopping and citing the speeder.
  10. Looks like a world class piece of shit just like it's namesake. People that drive a "Harley" truck should be beaten with a bag of hammers. They are the same tools that insist on wearing "HD" Tee shirts everywhere they go in public, and likely the same tools that probably don't even know how to start a motorcycle.
  11. All the Gen 4 do have the dual spring, I may not have been clear about that in my earlier post. The problems with the Gen 4 were limited, as far as I know, to the 9mm Glocks; so his .40 should be fine in two ways - 1) it isn't a 9; and 2) it's current production so any issues Glock thought they might have had which were manifested by the 9 have been cleared up
  12. The Gen 3 and previous 19s share a recoil spring with the 23s and they are all flawless; and the Gen 3 26s share a dual recoil spring with the 27s and they are all flawless, so I'm not sure exactly how Glock screwed up the dual recoil spring on the mid-size Gen 4s. But yeah, the problem should be resolved on any new stock guns, and as far as I know it was only a problem on the 19 (9mm), not the 23 (.40SW). $530 is an acceptable non-LE price. I see them on sale as low as $460 sometimes.
  13. SS1000 = Saddlesore 1000, 1000 miles in 24 hours It's fairly easy...ours we ran to St Louis, went up in the arch, had a nice sit down lunch, and made it back in 20 hours. 700 miles a day on back roads is tougher, but absolutely doable - I've knocked out several 800+ miles days on trips, with small bits of freeway but mostly 2 lane. To do it efficiently, you would have to be solo, or in a very small group of like-minded and similarly equipped riders. The more guys and more styles of bikes you have, the more you will be stopping and the slower the overall ride would be.
  14. You hit a lot of the roads I did. http://www.stromtrooper.com/ride-reports-route-sheets/56129-6-days-new-england.html
  15. Agreed. These fucking mouth breathers think everything that happens is somehow a secret attempt by OBAMA to seize everyone's guns. News flash, idiots, there is a bigger picture you need to step back and look at. And as far as Obama taking our guns, I know I'm still reeling from all the black suited agents storming into my house just after he was elected. They took my guns and fucked my dog up the ass. Heartless bastards.
  16. I would take a few steps here: First, file a small claims case through municipal court to recoup your payments to her. This is easy to do on your own, relatively inexpensive. Then, contact the bar association and file a complaint. Then, contact the Ohio Supreme Court and file a complaint. You could also file a complaint with the BBB, but that would probably be the least effective option. I'd hold off on any letter writing; and even if you did crank out some letters, I'd be really, really surprised if any get published.
  17. I've actually thought this myself quite a bit lately. I can shoot more than adequately, so taking game is no issue; but what to do with it once I've taken it is. I've never in my life eaten an animal I've killed; generally I only shoot nusiance animals like coons and cats, anyway. I hate stray cats. I'll have to watch some youtube vids and try to do it myself, at least to develop some basic techniques.
  18. I would think an urban setting would be AWESOME for hooligan trials riding!
  19. How'd you like Mt. Washington? I thought it was pretty cool... literally... significant difference between the grouund level temp and up on top. Loved that road. Would have been epic if there hadn't been slow moving cars every hundred feet.
  20. Word. They sure don't impress me. And I call bullshit on them not knowing the engines were stolen. Really? You install a part with a ground off VIN and you think it's legit?
  21. I thought it was fair. It went fast, so it must have been. I sold a CS9 a few weeks ago for $430; those are great guns. Unfortunately, they just don't point as instinctively for me as my Glocks; I am trying to consolidate all my auto pistols to one platform...
  22. And this one is sold to an OR member! Thanks!
