98 hp? doesnt quite feel like it....
SpeedTriple44444 replied to Gixxus Christ!'s topic in Daily Ride
To be honest, I think the liter bikes are better for people that DON'T want to ride hard. They have the bottom end torque to cruise around in the low midrange all the time. It's not like many people can actually use the extra grunt of a liter bike on the street at WOT. The 600's are already making well over 100hp these days. The lighter handling will probably allow most people to go faster on a 600. -

what are these off of? Regal? What brand and model tires? Do they all match (including miles?) -

Well, the size you have is a direct fit for the upgraded wheels on my LeSabre, so tire size should be ok. Now, the question is, do the wheels have the right bolt pattern and offset? Not sure. -

I might be interested in the tires. I gotta find out if they'll fit on my 03 LeSabre. -
I'll try and go too. It will be the first bike night I've ever been to. What goes on there?

My plan to a great America: 1. Flat tax rate for anybody over the poverty line, including business. EVERYBODY pays their fair share. 2. massively overhaul the welfare system. Make incentives to get and keep a job, and limitations of time for non-handicapped welfare benefits. No more increase of benefits for more welfare children. I don't care if you have to put them on a road crew somewhere; if there is an able-bodied person who can work, they WILL work, or they won't eat. 3. Get the government back to concentrating on only what is needed to keep the country running and safe: Infrastructure, Military, etc. Get them out of everything else. It's not their place. 4. 2-term limitation on all public offices- eliminate career politicians. 5. Tarriff all imports where a domestically made equivalent product is available, and subsidize the American-made product to keep costs in line for consumers. 6. Get out of tribal wars, oil wars, etc. and concentrate on closing and protecting our borders. 7. Illegals: take citizenship through the legal process or GTFO 8. Mandatory death sentences for convicted drug dealers (excluding pot and prescriptions- only hard drugs; heroin, coc, crack, meth, etc.), to be carried out after 1 appeal... eliminate one of the major cancers that robs people of their productivity and control organized crime. 9. Mandatory death sentences for first-hand violent and sex crimes against children, to be carried out after 1 appeal. It's time to make the streets safe again for our kids.

98 hp? doesnt quite feel like it....
SpeedTriple44444 replied to Gixxus Christ!'s topic in Daily Ride
HP ≠ torque <this also: Crank HP ≠ Wheel HP I can power wheelie my speed triple in first, but not in second, and it's a bike known for wheelies. There's no way you're going to do it on that bike. Then again, I'm big and fat... not the typical magazine-variety 150lb. rider. I'm too much of a coward to clutch it up. I figure keeping the front wheel on the ground most of the time is probably a good thing for handling and my license. -
And, congrats. 4.0 is amazing.

Did that have something to do with your paper? It was hysterical that so few recognized the irony of writing somebody's ethics paper for them.
-
Good thing you let me write that for you.

Sorry about your friend. I hope he heals up quickly. I guess I'm guilty of letting people who shouldn't ride my bikes. Last weekend my 78 year old grandpa took my Speed Triple for a ride. Could have been bad, but he did well.

The rioting in England, a foreshadow of what's to come here?
SpeedTriple44444 replied to Casper's topic in Dumpster
What's going on in England is just a foreshadowing of what is to come here. Consider this quote from the article: "It's very sad to see ... But kids have got no work, no future and the cuts have made it worse". Can you see the trend? When there are more people consuming than those producing, and those producing decide it's not worth it any more to produce for those who refuse to get off their lazy asses, and the government is not able to borrow money any more to pacify those that think they are entitled, it's gonna get friggin' ugly really quick. And that's the true end result of the socialist agenda and class warfare promoted by our Pres and his moronic followers. Ayn Rand was right. Just wait until those of us left with a work ethic "go Galt". I hope you have your guns ready, because those that feel they are entitled to your hard earned money aren't going to have any respect for your property when they aren't getting fed. -
10 or 170.. .haven't been on either. Are you sure you aren't making this up? j/k. I might have some time on Sunday afternoon... not sure yet. If not, then next weekend. I'm not sure if it is supposed to rain.

Speedmaster is a cool bike. I wouldn't mind having one of those in the future. I did see you guys go by. I typically run 9 from S of Salem down into Carrollton. Never been on 10 before. Any good? Any weekend in the near future will work for me. I'll try and PM you when I get some time and it's closer to the weekend.

Man, that could have been MUCH worse. Thank God it wasn't. That's a strange one... one of those that you couldn't have seen coming. Glad you're ok.
-
Can I quote you on that? awesome.

Heck, for that matter, how much can a small electric scavenger pump cost to convert it to a dry sump? It couldn't be THAT difficult. I know drag racing guys that do it on old school V8's, and especially for road racing.

I think anybody that blow that many motors up every year could get away with mental retardation, if not ignorance.

lol... am I letting my right wing hang out too far again? Sorry JRMMiii. I tend to forget how ultra-conservative I am.

Cool! Did one of you have a Triumph cruiser also? I think I might have seen you go by while we were at the Trolley. I saw what I thought was a Street Triple, but it must have been your Speedy. I tend to ride 164 pretty hard. When we started down from Salineville, I went my own pace and left the group behind. I got to that little gas station (I think it's in Burgholz) I had time to fill up, get the receipt and put it in my wallet, and get back on the bike before the rest of the group caught up, lol. Truth is, they were all on sport touring bikes, so I had an advantage. I followed a guy on a Buell up 164 and he was making it look so easy. You could tell he was a good rider. Have you tried 646? It's a great ride. 9S is really fun too, if you can avoid the cars. Nice wide new pavement, an absolute blast when ridden 70-85mph. You can just lay it over until the pegs touch. If you ever want to ride, let me know. I go down that way about every other weekend. It would be cool to have 2 Triples out for an afternoon.

Add me to that list.

Man... I wish I could come up with it. Good deal.

I completely agree with you, but also keep in mind that the pendulum is swinging back again. We've been taken about as far left as the population will allow, the economy is tanking, the debt is out of control, and nobody has a job. There actually might be half a chance for a guy like Ron Paul. The last time this happened we ended up with Ronald Regan, who, depending on your point of view, was not the worst thing to happen to the country.
