  1. I had one do that to me on the bike on Saturday. It came out of a cornfield- no notice or warning- right across the road. I didn't have time to even brake. Thank God it didn't stop!
  2. Keep it around. There's a reason you see more Buicks still on the road than most of the other Garbage Motors cars... they are built a little better. I don't know what part of Ohio you live in, but up here in the snow belt they get eaten alive by the road salt. If you can keep the lines and undercarriage from rotting out, you can put a zillion miles on the 3800 motors... they just keep trucking. I have no idea what it's really worth if you do decide to sell it, but as said above; the condition has everything to do with the value.
  3. There are only 10 kinds of people in the world... Enginerds, and everybody else. BUMP! Still 288.
  4. More evidence that Kasich is a moron. As if we needed any.
  5. I like reading these threads to see how the other half live. Me=married @ 21, for the last 14 years. I don't think I would trade places with any of you.
  6. Scares me too. My 6 yr. old son has a Kawi 50 that he has been riding a couple years, and he has wrecked it a couple times. You just never know!
  7. Further proof (as if we really needed it) that NE Ohio is the real capital of West Virginia.
  8. Welcome. I'm near Newton Falls. Not too far away. I like to ride down around Carrollton quite a bit, so if you're up for some twisty roads, give me a yell.
  9. I got over 80,000 miles out of a set of Michelin X-radials on my Silverado pickup.
  10. The SOUND of that thing is pure music. Beautiful
  11. SV650 would be a good bike. That little twin is an over-achiever. Also, the Ninja 650R is a nice bike. For the way you're talking, something close to a standard than a sport bike with 65-85hp seems like a good bet.
  12. I am careful about when to creatively quit. The one job I just decided to let my bosses boss know exactly what I thought of the idiots he had running the place. He just looked like a deer in the headlights. I was calm... but I didn't pull any verbal punches about why I was leaving with absolutely no notice.
  13. That is sad. These people give real Christians a bad name. I can't believe there is nothing that can be done about these protests. It seems our system is constantly taken advantage of due to honoring the letter of the law instead of the spirit of the law. Whatever happened to decency and common sense?
  14. It becomes clearer if you change the problem to all multiplication, rather than a mix. So... 48 / 2 * (9+3) =48/1 * 1/2 * (9+3)/1 =48/1 * 1/2 * 12/1 Now, whichever order you choose to multiply this, you will end up with 288 For the record, when I voted days ago, I chose 2, but I believe 288 is correct.
  15. For embedded, wouldn't you typically not bother with C++ and just use plain old C? That's the answer I got from one of our resident eggheads... I mean programmers, when I was looking to get into embedded design. I've done some assembly, and it's really not that difficult... just tedious.
  16. Just remember... once they get on a plane, WE ALL DIE! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auXho0eqNok
  17. Probably was a northern water snake. They are pretty mean, but not poisonous.
  18. I think you're missing the point of the movie. Walt is from a different time, when talking about the differences in races and staying with your own group was an accepted and normal thing. Didn't mean it was right, but people gave each other crap without really hating each other. He gives the same crap to his barber and his construction buddy. But when it comes down to it, he realized we're all Americans, and there are good people and bad people of other races, and a real man will fight for the lives of the good ones, which is what he did. I'm not so sure the way we are so sensitized is completely a good thing these days. Obviously we have to deal with real racist hate, but everybody has gone completely off the deep end with the PC nonsense.

  20. I hate 'em too, but I leave the non-poisonous ones around. They eat other bad stuff. A couple years ago I opened my garage door to get the bike out, and I saw something drop out of the rafters. I almost didn't see it; it was a brown snake, and he was intertwined in my air compressor hose... almost blended right in.
  21. If it has tits or tires, it's going to give you trouble. Either one is corrected with $$. Quality is directly related to how much you have.
  22. You can argue all you want about who is to blame, or what we should do, but the situation is that the ship is sinking, and we're all on our way down. It's too late to patch things. Thank you greedy worthless politicians and people of the last 100 years. I will have nothing to leave my kids unless they learn Chinese.
  23. 75 for me. Some of the music was good. I would say the percentages were better then than now good/bad
  24. I think what happened to you is what we all fear in the back of our minds, and like you have that little voice saying "it won't happen to me". I don't know if I could ride if I really did believe it could happen that way. I guess it's blissful ignorance, but I'm not sure I could be as big a man as you and handle it the way you have. I hope I don't have to find out.
  25. I ride the way Scruit described, but have been known to occasionally get a little too wild. Risk is a part of it all. It's a great feeling when you have something happen where you should be dead, and you pull it off due to that reserve you maintained. It's not so great the other way, I've heard.
