  1. If you take away moral absolutes, you have absolutely no basis for calling somebody's behavior wrong. This is only the beginning. It's not about white / black, etc. It's about people having no sense of what is right or wrong because the basis for that has been undermined in our society. When everybody does what they believe is right, this is what you get. To those people, this was justice. Who are you to say they are wrong? (note: sarcasm. of course it's wrong- just making a point).
  2. You're not the first to tell me that about the rear shock becoming an issue. I've heard once you take the pogo out of the front end it shows up just how bad the rear really is. I really like the bike. It's not fast, but it's fun and comfortable, and does pretty much everything well, if not excellent. It's a keeper for me.
  3. No shock mods yet. I've run out of cash for modding on that one. In the past month I've put stage 2 cams, manual cam chain tensioners, Akrapovic system, PCIII, CBR600 front calipers and master cylinder, galfer lines and HHpads, fork springs, emulators, new steering head tapered rollers (had balls in it- sloppy) new front and rear wheel bearings, fork brace, new Pilot road 3's, all fluids changed, etc. So, I'm a little tapped out now, lol. I've heard the rear shock is a huge improvement, and I want to do that in the future. I'm really glad to get the fork dive issue resolved. I'll have to play with the damping, emulator settings, oil weight etc. once I figure out where it needs to go.
  4. Keep in mind I'm talking about my Suzuki DL650- not my Speed Triple. Trust me, the zuk has a lot of room for improvement compared to the Triple!
  5. The brake dive is definitely much improved. I don't have enough miles on the bike to tell if the handling improvement is significant, but I can tell you that there is some more feedback from the front end. I did a couple other mods at the same time; fork brace, tapered rollers in the steering head, so I'm not sure if it's all the emulators. I took it over a really bad road, and it seems to be working- almost plush. I'm not sure how it's going to handle at higher speeds yet. The truth is, I'm not really sure what makes a good setup... still trying to understand exactly what the bike needs.
  6. I have a 650 V-strom that I've done a lot of mods on lately, including the Racetech springs and gold valve emulators. I know this is a budget fix for a budget suspension, but I'm wondering if it was worth the time and money. There aren't a lot of options for forks for this bike, so I thought I would give it a try. I've only ridden it about 10 miles (still working on other stuff), and it feels ok, but I'm not sure it's yet if it's a significant upgrade or not. I have very little experience with suspension setup, so I'm not sure what to look for to tell if it's better. Anyone with experience have suggestions / opinions on this?
  7. Lets face it: If you're not a liberal, you've already lost this election. There is no candidate that I want to vote for.
  8. BeeGreenStrings, Sorry to hear about your bad luck. It will get better. More importantly, got any nekid pics you can post (her, not you)?
  9. I guess that blows my vampire theory out of the water.
  10. My DL650 (pre-engine mods) got 53mpg consistently with the 16 tooth front, unless I was riding 70+ on the highway, where it would drop into the high 40's. Now that it's cammed and piped with a K&N and power commander, I have no idea what it will get. The Speed Triple gets 35-40.
  11. Don't try to keep up with these guys on a group ride, choke, blow a turn, and go off the road.
  12. As someone that has had a cruiser end up on the bed rail, make sure you get some kind of wheel chock in there to keep it from sliding sideways on you.
  13. I was always the introverted but big kid. The thing that bullies don't understand about those of us that are even tempered and quiet is, piss us off, and you are going to get your ass beat like you've never had before. I don't look for a fight, but I'm not about to back away from one either. All this nonsense these days about bullying and how they're publicizing it is bringing up a generation of kids that don't understand that it's ok to confront what is wrong, even when that means a fight. Hell, our country was FOUNDED on that principle, and has stood by it ever since. If you don't confront evil, it doesn't just go away- it comes back with friends and relatives. So, now my 7 year old son seems to be similar to me. He's a big kid, but he's also just a happy kid that doesn't have a mean streak in him. I will tell him the same thing I was told: If you've tried everything to resolve the problem, hit 'em as hard as you can in the face. If that doesn't work, don't stop until it does. Unfortunately, those that are looking for a fight are not going to show you the same respect you give them as part of being a decent person demands, so you have to show them in a way they can understand, if you're not able to ignore them.
  14. I just bought 10W at State8. Not sure if they carry the 5W, but they carry Amsoil (what I bought).
  15. I vote SV, but I'm biased. I have an 07 DL with the same basic motor. With a pipe, swapped cams (factory gen 1 intakes on the exhaust side, 2003+ factory intake cams) and a tune you can get around 75 or so hp out of them, and they sound cool with the right pipe. The motors are really tough and will go a lot of miles. I really don't think you could go wrong with either bike.
  16. LBTS... oh wait, that's my bike. Never mind. GLWS.
  17. Is it just me, or has 90% of the US become retarded in the last 20 years? Crap like this on TV doesn't help, for sure.
  18. I was pissed at first, until I re-read what you were saying. I see it's about the bike, and I don't take it personally. Thanks for the clarification.
  19. Maybe next time I could get some advice from you, UP. I'm humbled and ready to learn a little.
  20. Thanks... I appreciate that. I really wasn't feeling it yesterday, to be honest. I should have taken the hint and backed it down. I'm usually a lot smoother. I'd like to ride with you guys again. I think I could learn a lot from you, and I do like a fast-paced ride. I know what I did and why, so at least I can learn from it.
  21. It would, but it really needs brakes and a valve adjustment... plus a lot of other maintenance I've been putting off. That, and I'm feeling a little gun shy at the moment for some reason, lol.
