  1. I thought I read that Loughner had a 30 round clip. Think that is for real or BS?
  2. So how do you keep someone who is obviously mentally ill from getting a gun? (Another example - the guy who recently shot that lady sheriff with a shotgun.) I'm not anti gun, I want to get the CCW myself.
  3. I think Harley's are cool, but then again the few I have ridden never leave me walking away wanting one. I'm always willing to try another ride though.
  4. Now there's a vasectomy candidate! LOL!
  5. I usually go to Tires Unlimited off of I-75 at Needmore Rd. They do a reasonable job usually while you wait. 30 bucks last time I checked.
  6. Who say you gotta be one or the other - I like both. Sometimes it feels good with your hair on fire and sometimes slow and easy feels good. -All bikes are cool..
  7. Thats just it - the owner as manager didnt have a clue as to what it takes to have a presentable showroom, parking lot and people that understood street riders. The guy was a non manager, he just didnt get it. The place just drifted downhill.
  8. There is a universe of imfomation out there on investing and easy to get confused. The number one rookie site is Motley Fool.com But if you have money on the side starting a Roth is a number one action you should do. Then decide if you want to personally work your money or have a pro do the job. I have an IRA managed by a Pro group, and I foole with a Roth with stocks in a discount account. I personally like high dividend stocks that have a bit of room for some growth. My favorites for the moment - GRT,PVX,BTE,PSEC,AINV. I dont know how much bucks you got, but stick equal amount in each take the month dividend, buy some more of one and repeat. Its a medium risk strategy, so see if you feel ok with it, then maybe look for some sexier tech growth stocks. Good for you to think about some finance, ---Good luck - its a jungle out there
  9. This is the 2nd time I have heard Southside is closing. Too Bad, a big shame. I bought quite a few bikes from them, and mega bucks of parts. They were my home base for mc stuff, they gave me great discounts on parts, and let me snatch test rides on used bikes. Just nice people. -- (no service there for me though) The thing is the owner was so involved in the Troy Honda dirt racing, the group had no sense of the street side of stuff and street riders. The service dept was always just average. If a shop does this for a long period of time, they will lose customers. I once mentioned this to the owner, and even asked if he would just pave the parking lot, (it was dusty, muddy half the time) and he just didnt seem to get it. While other shops were doing upgrades to the show room and trying to improve, Southside just drifted backwards. I'm sad to see them go, but it takes some business sense to compete in the tough mc business.
  10. If your working on a Honda the factory service manuals are worth every dime. I always will grab those first. Haynes and Clymers are just average.
  11. Ditto - there are lots of bikes that would be upgrades from a '94 Katana. Even a F4i would be a significant bump and you would save some bucks.
  12. I have ordered a lot of stuff from Dennis Kirk. They have about anything you would want for bikes. Great vendor! -- They keep sending me the thick paper catalog of stuff to tempt me with and I usually end up buying something.
  13. - Did a trip in an overloaded Civic - Dayton to Phoenix - it took two 16hr days and one 14 hr days and we were moving faster than the speed limit. I think C'bus to Seatle would be a longer trip. - If someone told me I had to do your trip with the Accord, I would probly find a tuner car Honda speed shop and see if they could add a tranny cooler. Good luck dude.
  14. ^^^^ jeez, this guy have a wish to mess up his engine and starter? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm running one of these Lithium Iron polmer batteries.
  15. It’s about the only thing I do that puts me in the moment. No crap from job stress or money matters or stupid fight with a GF. All that goes away while riding. The only thing that matters is now. I can only absorb the action of now, of wind, of speed, of power. What I do now controls to whether I live or die, in the moment, in this second.
  16. I'd like to ride Leno's jet bike.... pin it on Bonneville....
  17. CCT ---Known to be crap on (add honda mc here) --- I'm a Honda guy, but I dont know what it is, but Honda doesnt know how to design a reliable cam chain tensioner. - makes me glad I have gear driven cams on my 5th gen viffer.... -yeah Mags, I would put money on the CCT.
  18. Since this on being beer fooles ---- bottle or draught? I am a dedicated bottle beer guy. Something about draught tastes a bit watered down or flatter, and doesnt have that crispness you get out of the bottle. Its winter - dark beer time...
  19. I dont have a lot of space to work, so its one bike at a time for me and funds are limited since I'm not working at the moment. Plan A - Valkyrie -------- Pull rear wheel off (its a shaft, bleah, PIA) and get moving on the upgrade to bling up the rear brakes/brackets and wheel polish. -VFR800 '98 ----------Finish the research and decide method for a slam dunk overkill permafix on the charging system. (chronic engineers disease.. ) ----------Rework heat shielding around rear cylinders, under seat wires and fuses, maybe around the header and shock too. Posible PC fan in there to get some airflow. Mbe some shielding under the tank too. -The thing gets the seat warm and cooks my ass. It's getting old. --------- Upgrade the horn circuit with an Eastern Beaver horn relay kit, relocate horn itself. Plan B -- Crank up the garage heater and blast the radio, park my butt in a chair and consume lots of Becks dark beer. Repeat often......
  20. The Ferrari is badazz, but this vid shows why I love motorcycles. The Ferrari did "only" 11.1 in the quarter, jeez, a lot of us own bikes that will slam that and doesnt have to be a Duc either. And a lot of bikes for $10k will stomp that too.
  21. Oh yeah, I forgot about Fat Tire. Good stuff. Havent had it in years but the last time I did I got severly wasted on it in Denver. Um, I think I remember I liked it. - lol
  22. mmmmm, beer - lol Summertime -- Corona, Perioni, Becks regular, Stella, Warsteiner Fall/Winter - Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Warsteiner regular and dark, Becks Dark, Bass
