  1. I really liked my Kawi Z750S around town, kinda buzzy though. IMO for around town/backroad riding I think the V-Twin and P-Twin 650's are about perfect. SV650, Ninja 650, Versys, Wee Strom, etc. Those new CBR 500's look like they would be a fun bike as well.
  2. I can't get on board with Mags saying that no dog is worth more than any person's life...I have met many people in my short time on this planet that I would put WAY below my dog on the "value of life" scale. My black lab is loyal, loving, and protects those that I care about...more than I can say for some people. And most dogs don't bite unless provoked by some means, unless there is bad breeding or lack of training involved. The dog in this story may have thought he was protecting his family from intruders by chasing them off...doing what he is SUPPOSED to do in the first place. I wonder what breed the animal was and if that had an effect on the perception of the dog being "vicious" or not.

This whole season was a mixed bag for me...hated seeing Opie killed off, kinda feel bad for Clay, the whole Tara/Gemma conflict was a bit annoying, and having Jimmy Smits (Nero) on the show is the best addition since the show started. Pretty cool that Dave Navarro had some small cameos lately too. The hardest part of watching the show tonight was not any of the blood, violence, etc...but that dog fight scene really got to me and made me want to go put a bullet in the head of all of those mexicans. Also it made me appreciate Tig's character even more than I already did when he saved the dogs life.
  4. Singer = Mark Lanegan or John Garcia Guitar = J. Mascis Bass = Scott Reeder Drums = Dave Grohl
  5. 2 Adults and 2 kids and we probably spend around $450 +/-. Usually around $300/mo at the grocery store and the rest out.
  6. My health insurance went up/benefits went down last year in anticipation of full implementation of Obamacare. Same with the wife. We both work in healthcare as well so we may be getting double screwed, lots of hospital policy changes coming down the pike and upper management is freaking out. It seems as if the federal government is saying "Here is a large group of hard working and well paid professionals...how can we get in there and screw this up for them like the rest of the American workforce??" Nothing sacred anymore I guess. I feel bad for those living closer to the edge than my family does (and we are by no means wealthy), because I feel these changes are going to benefit mostly the lowest income levels while having the most negative impact on the lower middle and middle class. We will see, I could be wrong...I hope I am wrong actually.
  7. Chris Cornell, Scott Weiland, Mark Lanegan, Mike Ness, Layne Staley, Claudio Sanchez, etc.. lots of good rock vocalists I would rank up there with Corey. I'm not a huge Slipknot fan, but he does have a great voice. It's not all about screaming, I like vocalists that have a unique sound...not necessarily the most range. Corey definitely has his own sound, which is refreshing in a time when every artist on Rock radio sounds like some variation of the Killers or Strokes or some other shitty flavor of the week band.
  8. mp3caprice.com I'm sure they have 80's compilation cd's on there. I get all of my music from here, so far virus free and good quality downloads. It's not 100% free but very cheap compared to iTunes...like $1.00 a cd or something like that. I consider it a solid investment to keep all of the stupid viruses you find on torrent sites at bay. Basically you can just click and drag the music from your library to iTunes as well, so it is pretty user friendly. I have downloaded probably close to 100+ full cd's and never had an issue with this site.
  9. I like those new 500's.
  10. I'm off Wed if you are still going to be in town that evening and wanna grab a bite/beer or something. You better stop over and say "hi" to Jodi while in town or you will never hear the end of it...lol.
  11. I just bought a 32GB iPad Mini in black and I love it. I came from an original iPad 1 and the speed difference is very noticeable. I was trying to decide between a refurbished iPad 3 or the Mini (since they are priced similar) and the Mini won out due to the form factor. I find the smaller tablet size is just about perfect, not quite as cramped as a traditional 7 inch tablet and not as bulky as a full size tablet. The fact that the iPad experience is the same and not scaled back was a big selling point for me as well. The lack of retina display was not a deal breaker for me since even though the mini has the same screen resolution as an iPad 2, the condensed size makes the images much sharper. I would recommend the iPad mini whole heartedly, unless you are after pure processing power then go for the iPad 4.
  12. I am definitely a fan of Chrome.

    New Toy

F4i's aren't that tall...how short are you exactly there exarch?? Nice new ride ya got there btw!!
  14. If you want something to do some light sport touring on, I recommend either of the Kawi 650's...the Ninja 650 or Versys. The Versys is a little taller which may be an issue with your inseam, but they make a lower seat option for them. Both of these would be good second bikes and a logical step up from a Ninja 250. I came from a Kawasaki Z750 and even though the Ninja 650 has a good bit less hp, the nice torque and easy ridability more than make up for it. My second choice would be an FZ6R or if you can find one a clean SV650.
  15. If you are looking for an inexpensive comfortable commuter with decent storage look at a Honda NC700X...if I had the $$$ for a second bike I would own one for sure.
  16. Welcome!! Cool Buell ya have there!
  17. +1 for the Ninja 650, I love mine. Great all around bike and a low enough seat height for even the shortest riders.
  18. Crazy, I had just ridden that same road that the altercation started on about an hour prior to that (State Rt. 42 from Delaware to Plain City), hope it was a self defense scenario and not some vengance thing. It will be interesting to get the details on this one.
  19. Looking good!!! I definitely appreciate the hard work that goes into competing like that, and I am with the rest of the guys on the tanning bit...but I know why they do it.
  20. New brake rotors and pads in front and a few minor mods like a ZG double bubble, seat cowl, and install the T-Rex frame sliders that I have sitting in my garage. Nothing too crazy otherwise just some maintenance stuff.
  21. Good info, thanks! I just put red LED's on my 650 a few weeks ago and was wondering if I would catch any heat from the police...so far it is all good though. Really, as long as they are not flashing or blinding people, I don't see why they would be illegal anyway. I just used them hidden in my side vents and tucked up in the fairings shining down on the wheels, nothing too crazy. IMO, if they are done correctly, they look pretty cool but can look gaudy if overdone.
