  1. Nice Star! Lots of younger cruiser folks out there.
  2. I have been in the same spot as you man, reaching burn out point at a rapid pace. What used to be good money for my job got blown away thanks to a shitty relationship that ended in a truckload of child support and court costs. I had a serious mental breakdown when my ex got pregnant, left me, and flat out told me she was gonna break my ass all within a 2 week period. My whole life got turned upside down and I am still paying the financial consequences (and will be for several more years). Point is, a few months later I met this wonderful woman (who is now my wife) that pulled me out of the fire and probably saved me from going down the same path you were talking about. Life has been good since, I enrolled in college to earn a more advanced degree than what I hold now so that I can better myself and ward off the impedning burn out. Things will work out if you let them...and don't be afraid to talk to a professional if you sense shit is getting out of control or if you are unable to cope.
  3. BoA has my mortgage, local credit union has all of my business for everything else (checking, savings, auto loan, etc...). I went with who could give me the best fixed rate at the time...BoA was it. So BoA doesn't support guns...big deal, they are just a bank. Both of the hospitals I work for don't allow guns anywhere near the buiding...should I quit my job??
  4. I grew up shooting sporting clays and skeet with my Dad so yes I like guns. I also know the kind of shady fuckers that live in our world, so I keep one in my home for protection.
  5. I have 2 soon to be 3 daughters...I am so screwed. I am convinced it is payback for all of the hell I raised as a kid.
  6. I wish I could have the same view of the world as you Mags, but I have seen the other side. I work my 2nd job at a large Columbus trauma center and I see the kind of stuff that goes on in the real world. Some of those 17 year old "kids" are harder than some of the folks I see coming in from the prisons. Seeing that kind of stuff go down so close to the town I live in was more than enough for me to keep firearms in my home to protect my family, and if I had more sense (and was legally allowed to) I would probably conceal carry when I go to work down there. I'm not shitting you when I say that one evening walking into work I walked by a couple "kids" sitting in a car in the parking lot very loudly discussing how they told their friend to ditch his gun before he came there...fuck that shit. It is a crazy, messed up world out there...and crime often happens when and where you least expect it. If someone comes into my house and threatens to cause physical harm to me or my family..or attacks me or my family on the street I am NOT being the victim I don't care how old they are.

    Vegas, Baby!

I went last summer and stayed at the MGM Grand in one of their "Celebrity Suites". It was pretty sweet, really clean room and the bathroom was OMFG big with hot tub etc. Prepare to walk...A LOT. I recommend driving out to the Hoover Dam and checking it out, very cool!! I have friends that live there and work at Sushi Samba (@ Palazzo) and at Vanity (@ Hard Rock) so of course I recommend both of those places. The old downtown is cool and definitely worth checking out...gambling is a bit cheaper there too. As far as show tickets, look online for promo codes and order them that way or go to the 1/2 price ticket place on the strip (can't remember the name but it is by the big coke bottle..you can't miss it). I went to the Lion King @ Mandalay Bay and Criss Angel @ the Luxor and both were a good time. If you go to the Luxor for the Criss Angel show be sure to check out all of his motorcycles they have on display. They have the Beatles "Love" playing too and I heard it was pretty epic, ran out of time to see it though. If you go off of the strip you will find some pretty good mom and pop places to eat, had some great BBQ while there too in N. Vegas. If you plan it right you can get direct flights with Southwest which is what I did and I recommend that if at all possible.
  8. This pretty much sums it up correctly...
  9. Yeah I don't understand the whole tassle thing either...my daughters old Huffy had those things..lmao.
  10. It all depends on your specialty and experience. When I was interviewing for my contingent position at a major Columbus trauma center the HR guy said they no longer have to pay sign on bonuses because of the overflow of applicants they get for jobs...and that Rad. Techs in particular were having a hard time finding jobs. Still, the job market is pretty good in central Ohio for healthcare employees in general.
  11. I went with 1 size wider than stock on my 2004 250R that I had and it fit ok. There is no reason to go much wider than that since the tire will be pinched on the rim and wear and handle incorrectly. A 130 to 150 is more than adequate for street riding unless you are just going for looks. If the 130 didn't work well on the bike, the factory would have never put that size on to begin with.
  12. If it is a G35 coupe then I would have picked that over the STi too, those cars are sick.
  13. Only on OR can a thread turn from cruiser bikes to pong...lmao.
  14. It is actually kinda functional on these cars...not like those idiots that put huge wings on Civic's.
  15. Yeah no kidding?? The only car really in the same class would be a Lancer EVO or Ralliart and IMO WRX>EVO for sure. If you are looking for a turbo 4 cylinder AWD sedan that doesn't require a second mortgage to buy...this is about it.
  16. Didn't even realize that was on here...
  17. Nice Scooby..lol. I love that generation of WRX/STi, good choice!
  18. It would be kind of cool to have a separate section for cruiser stuff just so you don't have to skim through 4,000 posts about "Which gun should I buy?" or "How should I set up my track bike?" kind of stuff. Not that that stuff isn't cool or important, but there is a section for track days...and I am pretty sure there are more people on here that ride cruisers & standards than do track days. Just some balance would be cool and give cruiser guys a chance to post questions & comments without cluttering up other sections. Not bitching, because I <3 OR and think it is a great community and I like/respect all kinds of bikes/riders.
