I just did my basement over the summer, it isn't hard as long as you take your time with the measuring. It is much easier with at least one other person to help hold things as you secure the grid.

The point of not having to put out a drastically different phone is that Apple got it right the first time around. The iPhone 5 is just an evolution of a great product, no need to redesign the wheel when you are the one that invented it in the first place. It is the sense of familiarity coupled with the addition of new technology (faster processors, retina displays, better OS, etc) that sells products for Apple. Steve Jobs would be proud of the way Apple is continuing to succeed, he was a bit of a design minimalist and Apple's products reflect that. I am not a iPhone fanboy either as I don't have one, but I do own several iOS devices and really like them.

The GTO, G8, G6, and Solstice were all great cars...mainly because they were just rebadged Holden's and Opel's. I still wish GM would see fit to bring the Holden UTE over as a rebadged El Camino, that would be bad ass! The Holden Sportwagon is pretty slick too. Either way, Pontiac made the only exciting cars from GM (with the exception of the Corvette) and the Firebird and TA were much better looking than the F-Body Camaro's IMO. Pontiac did have a few lemons though, the Grand Prix and Grand Am were both bleh...plus that Aztek was just HORRIBLE.

Those GTO's are sweet, but that one LBTS. I would keep looking for another GTO or pony up for a G8.

Kawasaki ninja 1000 or Triumph Sprint GT

Seems like every freaking central ride I want to go on falls on my weekend to work...damn it. Im gonna have to quit working every other weekend.

Some folks have no business riding liter bikes, maybe they think the year or two on a 33hp bike will weed out all of the dumb shits. Quite a few people buy those super bikes after never riding on anything with two wheels just for the cool factor...then they go out and do something stupid and land in the hospital with a totaled bike. That kind of stuff makes everybody's insurance higher and gives responsible riders a bad rep. Having to spend a year or so on a restricted bike is a good idea IMO. Buying a Hayabusa for a first bike is like giving your 16 year old son a Ferrari for his first car...you just know something bad is bound to happen.

I would try going back to 10w40 like IP said, see if that makes a difference. I always thought those SV and Gladiuses were pretty bullet proof so I doubt the revs would hurt them with the low miles on it.

There is nothing wrong with modding a Ninja 250. They are fun bikes to ride and extremely popular, especially in Europe and Asia where riders don't have such a size complex.

This Ninja 650 I bought is one set of emulators and a custom rear shock away from being my ideal bike I think. I really enjoy riding it and the 650 Ptwin is a great street engine. I can't imagine what a nice bike the Ninja 1000 must be.

I would imagine if he has 'No Trespassing" signs posted he should be covered if someone comes on his property...illegal or otherwise. Why everyone believes that just because you cross the border illegally and walk into America you should get the same rights as an American citizen is beyond me as well. If someone is here without proper documents, they should be deported...immediately. If someone sneaks across the border and has a baby...guess what, they should be shipped back as well along with their little anchor child. If immigrants want to come here to work, that's fine just get temporary visas like everyone else is expected to do. It isn't that difficult of a concept.

That is true, some dogs are bred to be aggressive. My argument is that ANY dog can be made mean, it isn't exclusively a pit bull issue. All of the pit bulls I have been exposed to were total sweethearts though because my friends that had them are all responsible dog owners. The only mean dogs I have ever been around for any length of time were my buddies Chow who was super aggressive to everyone but him and my old Black Lab/Rottweiler mix who was slightly aggressive toward other dogs and was a bit of a people chaser...but I fixed that by going through dog training with her.

+1. I am a dog lover and I can't stand that breed. Never met a chow that I liked. A chow/pit mix is a bad idea to begin with...nothing like a tempermental dog with the strength to do something crazy. Pits, by nature, are very well behaved dogs with awesome temperment. It's the asshole owners that screw them up and make them mean. Glad you are ok, I would have definitely reported this to the police/animal control as well.

Cleaned the buttons on the rotors so they spin freely now, several were seized up probably due to sitting and not being ridden in a long time. I also scuffed the surface of the rotors which helped as well. Took it for a test spin and it is much improved...will still probably throw some new pads on after the summer when I change the fluids. Thanks for the help and ideas.

What about a Ninja 650R?? It's just like a 250R but with some balls. FWIW mine is pretty comfortable, with upright ergos, decent wind protection, and a nice wide powerband that makes for easy riding and less frequent shifting. I looked at several bikes when I was shopping for a middle weight commuter/sportbike and the Ninja fit my needs perfectly. The suspension and brakes would be the only upgrades you would need to make if you wanted to get super serious or do track days...but you would have to do the same thing with any of the bikes you are considering.

I'm going to try and clean everything first, especially since the bike sat for a while. Perhaps the little buttons are seized on the floating rotors as well, looks like I will be spending my next day off in the garage...lol. I'm going to try everything besides full replacement first, OEM rotors aren't exactly cheap, but if it needs them..it needs them.

Free floating...and the thing that got me was there was no high speed shimmy like you would expect from a warped rotor. It is more of a pogo effect (even the fork compresses and rebounds slightly) when applying the brake. It is weird...no shake to the bars or anything just a bouncing like slamming the brakes on and off. I will check the rotor bolts too, good idea. It is funny, kinda makes me look like a noob when stopping like I am jamming the brakes then letting off.
