  1. Will check...that seems kinda odd for such a low mile bike to have warped rotors though doesn't it? I thought it may have had something to do with the fact it sat for basically 1 and a half years.
  2. Picked up a gently used 2007 Ninja 650R last week (4k miles on it) to satisfy my sportbike/commuter itch and I have a quick question. The thing runs awesome, but the front brake seems to be "surging" or like grabbing and releasing...like what you would imagine if you squeezed and released the brake lever over and over again. There is no shake or shimmy with high speed braking, this is more of a lower speed issue. Any ideas of what it could be? The pads look great and the rotors show no signs of neglect and no squealing or other problems. Thanks for any ideas of where to start tracking down this issue.
  3. You seem like a good guy and big props or having the strength and mindset to overcome addiction...I have lost a few friends that couldn't shake that monkey. It is kinda funny how assumptions fly around here sometimes, but this is still a good group of folks.
  4. Quite a few people seem to like them, and the price is definitely right. I have only heard positive things from people that bought them.
  5. Yes, take the rider course asap...you will learn a lot of basic skills to help you become a safe rider. As far as bikes, the 750 Shadow is not too powerful of a bike, but it is heavy. I would suggest finding a VLX600 Shadow or even a Rebel 250 (if you really want a cruiser) or something like that. I started on a Ninja 250 and it was a very forgiving bike. Keep in mind that you will more than likely drop your first bike at least once, so it is better to buy something used as a starter bike that way you don't feel as bad if something gets damaged.
  6. That's why I bought my 650R, it's slower than my old Z750S but it is a BLAST to ride...and comfy.
  7. I would probably go with the Kawi due to the huge aftermarket for them, unless you are a bigger guy...then I would probably do the GS500F.
  8. Shit missed the Afghan Whigs...would have liked to seen that. Thanks for posting up!
  9. They r cool little bikes, especially when on a budget.
  10. The difference...one was obviously premeditated, the other was some dude getting his ass kicked and he was ending the assault. Martin was no angel according to various sources so I have a hard time seeing him as the "innocent victim" everyone makes him out to be. If I was in Zimmerman's position, and it truly went down the way he said it did, I would have probably done the same thing. Those people in Colorado...some of them young children...did not deserve to die like that. I hope they fry that piece of shit Holmes..insanity is NO defense. They can fry all of those pieces of shit that think like him too.
  11. Welcome to OR, good looking 650R
  12. Which is b.s. as well...the fathers rights thing.
  13. In an ideal world...everyone would be moderate. Extremism either way is what leads to all of the ideological conflicts around the world.
  14. Are they third gens?? I may be interested in a 32GB working one of so.
  15. That's kind of the direction I was leaning Duane. I would love to find a clean XX, but they are getting hard to come by.
  16. Thanks!! I think it is a good looking bike, just miss the sportbikes.
  17. So I bought a cruiser over the winter thinking I would like riding it more than a sportbike...well, I was wrong. I haven't put hardly any miles on her, I dunno why but I miss the "feel" of riding a sportbike. If anyone is interested lmk because I would like to sell it and get into another sportbike before this season is over. Here are the details: 1100cc engine, grey w/flames paint, just under 10k miles, all original with soft bags and sissy bar that will come with the bike (Not on it currently). It is a fun bike, just not my style. I have it listed on CL for $4999 but that is negotiable to a point...I still owe a little over 4k on it since I just bought it not too long ago. Also, recent coolant and oil change done within the past month. I have a set of front and rear brake pads that will go with the bike as well, I bought them and was going to change them out when I did all of the maintenance on the bike but it didn't need it at the time so I just hung on to them. 18. Wearing mine now!! Thanks!!
  19. This whole mess is VERY similar to the movie "Rampage" that came out in 2009 as far as the killer's details and method..seemingly quiet kid falls off the deep end, stockpiles some weapons and explosives, builds a complete kevlar body armor suit with gas mask, then goes on a random mass murder spree.
