Brian's over here trying to organize something that should hit the interest of most and here we are wanting a to change it because it doesn't hit what's exactly in the garage on jack stands. Make CR great again Brian. Crystal ball prediction. CR will come full circle in 2025-2030. Members will then be looking for something to do with their old ass, so meets and gatherings (with wheelchair access) will be talked about more, like 2005.

I would have said this as well, up until this year. Things changed up for me a bit , so my prospective has changed. My daily commute went to 140 miles a day, and I didn't want to do that to the STi. I sold it, and went to driving an Outback daily. But, then bought the boat and sold the other car my wife was driving, and she went tot he Outback. It made me look at trucks that we reasonable on gas mileage, and that brought me to the ecoboost's. I had already had a truck as a work pig, but it had the 8.1l motor and was a terrible at the gas pump. For what I want out of a daily, I really do have my needs met with the 3.5 ecb. Ford is pushing their 450hp limited, but that can be had easily with a tune on the 3.5ecb. I didn't have sport performance in mind when I made my buy. I wanted fuel economy and towing, with functionality. I was fine in a XLT, but my wife loved the cab of the Lariat and on a 18 hour drive to where we fish in Canada, I just want her to try and enjoy it. I don't miss the STi. We love our Outback still. The performance in the 3.5ecb is just a bonus that I didn't have to give up having some power to work with when I want it. I drive in eco mode all the time and like an old man, just wanting to get the best miles per gallon I can. I have winter tires on, and still get 21.3 mpg with no bed cover. I have a truck cap on order, and hope to see that improve. It just comes down to what is your lifestyle and what your priorities are.

Better off taking that trade to save on taxes. Would need about 7% over trade in to be worth selling private sale. Traded in 3 cars on sales this year because of this.

Congrats, Carl. I too, thought you had done this long ago. Be sure to get your new passport ASAP. Always seems to be one thing people overlook after getting naturalized.

I thought it was something life threading with 5 emails about this thread.

I just had a few people ask for a class this weekend and have three open seats. Time is 8am to 8pm. Location is New Albany/Johnstown area, about 15 minutes from Easton. PM me for exact address. We still teach a one day, 12 hour class that covers the NRA Basic Pistol course and much more, to give you all that is needed for CCW in Ohio. There is extensive emphasis on marksmanship, with one on one training. Please PM me to be added to the class roster, or for any questions. As always, if you are interested in setting up a class with your family and friends, PM me to have a private class. Couples, PLEASE do all you can to do the class together. We want you both on the same page, as shown by the discount. CR rate is $80 for gun rental and ammo, if needed. Couples are $130 includes gun rental and ammo if needed. Non CR rate is $100 per person + $25 for gun rental and ammo, if needed. Couples are $150 + $25 for gun rental and ammo if needed. I commit to making sure you are trained. If you do not pass the range portion, we will retrain you, at no cost, other than gun and ammo use if needed. If you don't pass the written test, we will work with you so you can pass it, at no cost. If you just don't like how I teach and don't want to retrain, I'll give you your money back. At this time we have no intention of going to a shorter class time; less than 12 hours. We have reviewed our course material and feel that cutting information covered, does not serve the student best. As always, any prior student is invited to be a guest in a class to refresh info and training. Please message me for details or with questions you may have.

Have you already bought the smart things hub? I have a kit we bought for my dad's house and aren't going to use it now. Shoot me a text or message here.

Living life, Doc. Great read. Thanks for the write up and the pics.

Any interest in a 12'x7' aluminum trailer for trade plus some $ on my end?

Someone come take my car to this, so it looks like I went out this year. I'll be on the water chasing Muskies.

How many of us have these damn trucks? Old school CR is fun of tow pigs now. I had a hard time finding SS brake lines and had by buddy find them and put them on. All I know is we are still messing with it. I'll update when I get my truck back.

Talk to Corbon, he is at the airport location. Or, Bob at the Billingsley Rd location, we just bought a XV from Bob. For in-laws, I would lean toward going to Bob. Corbon is awesome, but he is who I would buy a STi from.

I stopped scheduling classes through the summer, and made them as people reached out to me and I could put 4 or more people together. That said, it does look like I'll have a class the second or third weekend in September.

I will be back on one of these down the road. I have a few more years of grinding and some other trip obligations in the meantime. Doc, please continue to post the great recap of your adventures. We all look forward to that thread. Safe travels. -
I will be out of contact until June 8th. Feel free to message me here or post here, but understand the reason for the delay in replying. Yes, pricing changed. I teach small classes and want to simplify things. Pricing for couples was posted wrong before and should not have read "per person".

Why AK and not AR is the question I'd start with. I'm no AK expert, but I had to ask myself that question, after being on the AR for so long and knowing it will do all I need in a 50-400m engagement, with close quarter functionality. I'm not saying the AK can't, I'm saying I had to justify using a different platform and I think that is worth thinking through before buying. Will it just be a range gun, or do you plan to do engagement training with it? That said, I fucking love my AK. It literally gives me a commie boner every time I shoot it. I feel like I'm breaking the law and I dare you to catch me. It is one of the first guns I grab when I have people over to shoot, because many people have not shot them. Racking the bolt and letting it go, is 75% of the experience. No less than three good friends now have AK's after shooting mine. There are dozens of AK companies out there now. Hell, Palmeto state armory sells one for $4XX from time to time. What's you budget is a factor, but you don't have to spend a lot to get a good rifle. I was lucky and got a Siaga for $350 and dropped about $300 into getting it the way I wanted. I think engineering has progressed in today's world to where a reputable company will make a good gun that will shoot. How hard you plan to run the gun would determine what company, like Arsenal and Siaga you go with. I would say those two come to mind for a combat ready gun. I have not fired Century Arms, but I have not looked at them past when they were thought of as a low end company ten years ago. DPMS is the same way to me though, they have a high end line and a low end. Ammo was a big push for me to go AK too. I was buy a lot of 5.56 and at $300ish a case, I was able to get 7.62x39 for $205 a case. Now, that price seems to have gone up to about $250 a case. Not bad, but it is on the up swing. The world will never run out of AK ammo. NEVER. So, my buying one was during the ammo shortage in the 2013-15. That influenced me a little at that time. I miss having the time to do writes. To get back to your question, I can't say which ones to avoid based on experience, I'd contact places that have AK training, like TDI I believe, and see what they have run into with what companies.

With our resident tire guru and hook up guy leaving the biz, I had to get a final order in. I needed tires for the truck, two sets of snow tires and a set of all seasons for the Outback. Derek always quotes a "good", "better", "best" to give three options for price and performance. It just makes it easy to get the deal together. On top of this, I couldn't be home today while the work was done. His guys called me and I opened my shop from my phone and talked them though a few particulars. His guys knocked out the job and called to let me know I could close the shop. When I got home, I was pleased to see a clean shop and great looking new tread. Derek, if your BBQ is 1/4th and good as your detail, care and follow through with the tire biz, you are sure to make a killing. Thanks for all the hook ups. Maybe you should set up at cars and coffee. Its never too early for BBQ.

I didn't want to go diesel, but still didn't want to find myself wishing I had more power to pull. Silverado's had a 8.1L gas truck as an option from 2001-2006. I searched for two months and found a crew cab with a 8' bed and very little rust. http://www.duramaxhub.com/gas/gm-8.1-vortec-l18.html

STi is gone. I bought a monster truck and a toy to go in the trailer for the cost of the STi. It would seem the more room the better for a trailer, and I'm leaning toward 24'. Plus, if I want to take a trip and not drive the FD all the way there, but drive it when I get there, I'll have room. Thanks for posting the Grovecity place. Likely, I will hit that and make something happen. They seem to have a lot of inventory. Wagner, damn you. Now I'm ging to be on that site all night. If there deal I was looking for was closer, that site is gold. Time is not on my side and the distance hurts the deals. Thanks for the info posted.
