    Glock 17?

Aluminum, but brass was only $17. My Colt digests the aluminum well and I don't reload....... yet.

    Glock 17?

FYI..... just bought .45 Blasers for $13.99 at Vances. I've been struggling to find .45 for less than $20/box.

    Glock 17?

If you're set on a Glock, go with the 19 or 19c. You won't gain much, if any accuracy with the bigger gun. Honestly though, check out a Sig P229. I picked up a police trade for less than $500 and now I'm completely hooked on the higher-end Sigs. Just dry fire all of your choices and you'll feel the difference. Don't get me wrong, Glock and Springfield make great, reliable, accurate weapons. The M&P is right there with them but I wanted to make Chevy doubt himself for a minute.

    Glock 17?

You should be able to find new Glocks at $500 or police trades for significantly less. Your experience with the XD is not typical though. I'd consider either for what you want to spend.
  5. Check out Vances' website. Used police 12 gauges for $150.
  6. I'm thinking more information may be warranted.
  7. Funny ... Northern. Pretty spot on since I was born in Detroit and raised near Toledo.
  8. I used to buy guns there almost exclusively due to pricing and location. About four years ago, I walked in to find EVERY gun went up in price by $40. When I asked why, they said that they now offer free cleaning and repair for the first year.
  9. Skipped out a little early to take the long way home today. I love those Columbus office days!
  10. Great, now the kids will be up at 4:00.
  11. I agree with the "faith " quote, but isn't Strickland a minister?
  12. I'm far more polite when armed. Far less likely to flip the bird when driving, far less likely to stare down a thug, far less likely to engage in any situation that may escalate to a point that would change my life forever. An armed society is a polite society in the context of legal activity. If I think you might be armed, I'd likely not try to piss you off. Other than that, I have not robbed any banks since the issuance of my cchp.
  13. Said rounds have been rumored to have dispatched furry critters within the no-no zone via a very long, very heavy barrelled Winchester bolt gun.
  14. I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a parent so young is tough.
  15. So I'll derail this painful thread with an honest question.... What happened to the mainstream V-Twin Litre Bike? Other than the Italians, the Austrians, and the SV, who else currently makes one? And why did everyone else stop? If this derail is too much for everyone to handle, please feel free to drop an insult regarding Scottie in response.
  16. The 642 is my everyday carry gun. Using a De Santis "Tuck This" iwb holster, I wear year round..... shorts and T-shirt included. The trigger is heavy by design, but stages predictably well. It's surprisingly accurate. I collect and shoot several guns including Walthers, Berettas, Colts, Sigs, Rugers, and a few Smiths. Every morning, it's the 642 that makes it to my waistband. Get some +p hollowpoints and you'll have nothing to worry about. Btw, I paid $349 four years ago.
  17. 2-stroker? Pretty sweet little bikes. Not street -legal, I believe.
  18. It's a shame that in this country we mis-label so many things . Instead of calling a repli-racer a "high-performance machine", we call everything else "beginner bikes". A comfortable bike that gets 60+ MPG and goes 90+MPH seems like a good idea.
  19. If they're using the single, I hope it's more than Just a rebel/nighthawk motor. The Ninja will do 100 and is reasonable on the highway, whereas my fat-ass couldn't push my nighthawk over 70.
  20. Seriously though, there's something to be said for a good 250.
