Morbidelli V8 - The ugliest motorcycle ever made?
YSR_Racer_99 replied to Casper's topic in Daily Ride
Back to the Morbi in the OP: In SOME fairness, it says it was penned in 1994. http://www.fasterandfaster.net/2007/10/from-dream-to-disaster-morbidelli-850.html On another note, gotta love the wood dash on the other bike. -
Be thankful that you don't live in Iowa. I don't think they ever get a break. I can't imagine the volume of commercials and phone calls they get.

And here weeeee goooooo.... Not everyone likes it. We get it. But hey, thanks for letting us all know. Tim: Please do. Grabbed some in TN last Friday, thinking "this will get me through until 10/31". Uh uh. Gonna be running to Grove City, I think. We planned a "Welcome to Ohio" party at the house for 11/05. May need to move that date. Or go to a bar.

Darn you northerners!!! But draft will still be available here 10/31. http://www.bizjournals.com/dayton/blog/morning_call/2011/10/yuenglings-dayton-launch-disrupted-by.html

Yeah, I agree. If I win, I'll give it to Kawi Kid. I want one of the R1 banners with the yellow/ black anniversary edition on it.

Lane splitting: Not addressed in codes or statutes?
YSR_Racer_99 replied to Mc_spirited's topic in Daily Ride
So when you see two Harleys side by side in a single lane (vs. staggered), they can get ticketed? -
Interesting. I didn't take the course. This is opposite of what I do, though. At a stop, my left foot stays on the peg, right foot on the ground, and I use the front brake (if needed). I have the bike in neutral, hand off the clutch. Seems like the MSF way would add some time to your ride-away.

So this is a religious issue? My religion teaches love and caring. I can't think of anyone in my church (or my family, or my friends) who would leave this little girl lying there (Note: I didn't watch the video, but read the thread. Like someone said, "you can't unwatch it"). Unseen? I see God everywhere. Once you know Him, he's not "unseen". As far as the "uneducated" piece, education is part of the problems today. I got hit with the "save the earth" spiel in school, but nothing like the kids now who are forced to watch Al Gore movies, and that "everything has to be fair". Educational institutions now, on all levels, are indoctrination camps. Especially the universities. My niece came out of OSU as a flaming liberal. We had an adult birthday party at our house a few years ago. Had an inflatable obstacle course (like a bouncy house). We put everyone in brackets. They ran two at a time. As they came out of the end of the course, I said "winners on this side, losers on that side" so the winners could move on to the next round. She came up to me and said "you can't call them losers". The hell I can't. BTW, she lost.

Couple of things: That extra four hours that he's saving me is the difference between overnighting in a hotel or not. Also, I gave him a deposit on the bike, and will pay the balance when I see him. Keep it coming... Thx Jeff

Won a bike on ebay. Have to drive a few states away to pick it up. Seller is coming a couple of hours this way to meet me (he offered) to save me some driving. He said something in one of the emails about riding the bike to the meeting place, and having his wife follow him. In the next email, he gave me the VIN "to get insurance on it". I spoke to him on the phone before I won the bike, and lots of emails since then. Seems to be a stand-up guy. I don't want to tick him off and have him renege on his offer to drive this direction, but I really don't want him to ride the bike to the meeting spot, either. Partly for the miles (lets say 100 miles total), but more importantly I don't want anything to happen to the bike. (Once I typed that, I realized that 100 miles isn't really going to matter. It has about 9500 on the clock). I wrote an email telling him that I wouldn't be getting insur on it until I took possession, but then didn't send it. Need to work on the verbiage. I'm not good at being tactful about these things. In my mind, I would never ride a bike that I had sold, esp a distance of any sort (vs. up the street and back "one last time") as I'd be too afraid that something would happen. How do I handle this?

How come? On that note, I'm seeing more and more "Student Driver" stickers in the rear windows of cars. Are these really new drivers? When we lived overseas, new drivers had to have a specific symbol/ sticker on the rear of their car for the first year. I hate more laws and regs, but think that that one really makes sense. Not sure what we can do about the blue hairs, though. I swear they're getting worse. Texting doesn't kill people. Granny's Buick does.

Do you wave at other people who drive the same kind of car you do, or folks who wear the same kind of jeans? Or the same brand of shoes? I think its funny that you start out talking about what a nice, understanding person you are, then trash someone because they (I) don't want to wave at you. Just because we're both on bikes doesn't mean we have anything more in common. I don't feel a kinship with you just because we happen to be passing each other. If we're on similar bikes, that may be a different story (or it may not). Other than the fact that you happen to be riding a motorcycle at the same time I am, and we're in the same area, I don't know anything about you. Off of the bikes, I may like you, or I may not. No offense intended, I'm just throwing it out there. FWIW, if I see a rider broken down, regardless of what kind of bike they're on, I'll stop to help them. But I won't wave as one of us pulls away.

Nah, nobody annoyed me, cuz nobody waved. Might have seen you. Only saw a couple of non-Harleys. I forgot about the Hill Climb, which is about ten mins from my house. Went one year, but haven't been back. I heard that it gets really ugly when it lets out. Something about a lotttt of people drinking gallons of beer all day (literally. They sell draft in gallon jugs at the event) then all trying to get out of the place at the same time on tiny roads, PLUS the Sauerkraut Festival being at the same time. Craziness.

Hmmm, meeting people in person? I don't know that I'm comfortable with that. Its so much easier to socialize digitally.

Hookers and blow. Errrr, sorry. "Gigolo's and blow". Have a good time, regardless of what you do (or don't do).
-
Its all in good fun. You are free to ignore the thread.

Welcome. Springboro here, too.

He's not gonna wave back. He's gonna snap and either shoot you, or run you off of that bridge on a rainy day. But hey, keep on trying. I'm just imagining his post on his Harley forum. "This sumbitch keeps waving at me. Every day. Started with the two fingers down, then the boner commercial wave. If he doesn't stop waving, I'm gonna....".

Anyone use smart phone to accept credit cards?
YSR_Racer_99 replied to chevysoldier's topic in Dumpster
I offer Paypal for people who want to pay by CC, and tell them that there's an additional 3% due to fees. I don't do enough CC business to justify any of the CC payment methods (and fees) that I looked in to. Edit: Okay, looked at the Square thing, and gotta say its very cool. I don't think I would have any concerns with using it. Its not MY credit card info thats going out over the air. -
I've officially (in my own mind) decided that I am tired of the whole waving-at-other-riders-on-the-road thing. I even penned a crappy acronym for it (Riders Against Waving). Dorky?? Absolutely. I had to run errands on Sunday morning, and there were a TON of bikes out around here (Cin-Day corridor). I was hoping to get out and ride for a little while on Sun afternoon/ evening, but in the back of my head was something about "so many riders, and they'll all want to wave"... So I get my chores done, and head out for a quick ride about 3:30. Still lots of bikes, but NOBODY waved except one guy on a blacked-out CBR in Miamisburg (okay, I did sorta wave at him. I admit it). The lack of waving was AWESOME. FWIW, this type of stuff is what would keep me from buying a Jeep as well (well, that, AND the whole bailout thing). Like it said on a t-shirt which I saw the other day, "I'm not mean, I just don't like you". Gotta find me one of those.

I don't wave people out, and I don't trust their waves. If at a four-way stop, I might point at someone, but don't wave them out. I'm not going to be responsible for them causing a problem. Let them make a decision. As far as trusting waves, my flashback is when I was a kid, maybe 10-11 years old. I was in the back seat, dad was driving. We were at some kind of stop. I blurted out that it was "clear on my side", so he pulled forward. Almost had a major mishap. Granted, he shouldn't have trusted me, just like I don't trust others.

How far south does the CMH market extend?? Grove City? Jeffersonville? Better yet, whats the furthest south that anyone has seen it (in Ohio)? Any chance that Springfield is S. Ohio? I looked up the counties that Columbus Distributing covers, and they're Franklin and north of there. NOTE/ UPDATE: Grove City got it.
