Oh, I totally agree. It may as well come with an injury guarantee. I'm not a dirtbike guy, but love two strokes (wait for it...). I had a KTM 250sx (or was it sx250? Either way...) once. Waaaay more bike than I could ever need. Blast in a straight line, but I couldn't even keep it from fouling plugs. Scared me to death.

Saw it the other night. Amaaaaaaazing. Did it on a bicycle on a BMX track when I was about 18. Not that fast, and not that high, and it tore me up pretty good. I can't believe that he got up. Good for him.

I considered one of these awhile back, decided against it based on reviews. Power, weight, and something else (can't remember) were issues. Do some digging. Consider a drz400 of some sort.

I miss the 500's without all of the traction control. I miss Gary Mccoy's big blackies. I'm interested to see what the 990's will bring. Current races are nice, but not exciting like the old Rainey/ Schwantz/ Doohan era. Whatever happened to John Kocinski?

Wankel are temperamental, and don't like to sit for more than a couple of days. Had a couple of 2nd-gen RX-7s back in the day. Loved the 12A, not so much the 13B. I absolutely LOVE my little SV650. I love the sound. I love the look (except the radiator). The power is fine for what I do, and it was cheappppp. I'm glad that I didn't pop for the z1000 that I was eyeballing at CCM last fall, with its sticker of only $7999 (brand new). This makes me just as happy. I'd like to have a SV1k, too. I'd do the conversion to it that I did to the 650. I'd like an RC51 because its such eye candy, but it seems to be a Jeep Wrangler kind of deal in that "everyone wants one until they have one". Every RC51 has a non-stock seat and most have relatively low miles. Yeah, I know: "its a sport bike, not a tourer", but still. I've never heard it called a torture rack, like some of the Ducatis were (a la 996 genre), but thats the impression I get. I'd rather ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. Wring its neck.

Spend the money on that lift table instead. You'll get much more use out of it. (Not trashing the Hero, BTW...)

Watched two of the races on Speed last night (Sat night). I haven't been paying attention, and had no idea this was Mid Ohio weekend. Grumble grumble grumble. INCREDIBLE 600 race. It could make the case for "its better to watch them on TV" since you get to see all of the passes. Craziness.

Dude, I'm in your camp. I'm a short-distance rider. I asked a week or so ago about the appeal of long rides. Even though its not an ST ride, I keep thinking I need to run SR73 down to Portsmouth again this year. Great road.
