  1. Didn't say that "you" (which wasn't you...) were tailgating ME. And the person being tailgated was going with the flow of traffic on a two-lane state route. I was behind the bike. It was funny because he must have thought that I got too close to him while we were stopped at a stoplight (several feet between us), so kept turning around (since he didn't have any mirrors...) to give me the evil eye, both at the light and as we continued down the road. I didn't tailgate him, I don't do that. I just loved the irony of him getting bothered by me for doing the same thing he was doing (or at least thinking that I was doing it).
  2. Anyone here? Stretched swingarm, lots of chrome, no rearview mirrors. Tailgating.
  3. Healea will cover it. I think I remember him stating that....
  4. I want someone to address the outcry against Bush when this happened, but we don't hear ANYTHING about Obama. FWIW, I don't think its up to the President to "fix" things like this. Its the market, and tapping the Reserves won't change anything. Pulling the CEO's up to the Hill to get grilled doesn't do anything (just gives them the opportunity to grease Congress at the bar, after a long day of blah blah blah). Weak dollar, high demand. Look on the bright side. China is making all of these great international alliances. Now that they essentially own us, it shouldn't be long before we benefit from their buying power.
  5. The wheels should never be worth more than the car. Neither should the stereo/ system. And don't get me started on the rust rattle coming from the trunk when the bass hits...
  6. http://www.ohioriders.net/picture.php?albumid=1078&pictureid=13702 This is from my daughters 7th grade math book. Highlights are in the book (i.e. I didn't add anything). Parens first, then multiplication, then division. 9+3 = 12 2x12 = 24 48/24 = 2 There. I've convinced myself.
  7. Having said that, I'll continue this. In "How I Should Read It", why are you moving the 2 to be under the 48? If this has been addressed, let me know. I'm not reading through 47 pages to find out... Whats the outcome if we just look at 2(9+3)? No other part of the equation, just that piece. I'm sticking with 2.
  8. So Ben is pretty sure its 288... I think. Yeah, I agree with "Die Thread! DIE!!!!!!"
  9. Yeah, brand new cars are great. Until you take a look at how much $$$ you lost on it in two or three years. Bought a 2007 car in 2010. Original invoice was in the glove box. She had paid $28k for it. I paid $15.5k. To each their own, though. We bought a 2003 Avalanche new off the lot, and still have it. Runs like a top, we love it, and its been paid off for many years.
  10. Yeah, its for an Element, but hey...
  11. 43. Can't imagine myself on something that won't go through the twisties.
  12. Bike dealers' old crates. Get them before the scrappers do. Or Forward Air has ready-made motorcycle shippers.
  13. Loose losers losing loosely. Do Canadians spell the word "out" as "oot"? Just wondering. 288
  14. Chrome base? Crazy green paint. Very cool.
  15. I am by NO means a math whiz, but I DO remember being taught to solve the parentheses first. Sticking to 2, so the correct answer is probably 288.
  16. The cable tv "remote" with the 30' cord and the slide channel controls. Fuzzy car radio reception as your parents turned the dial trying to get the station to come in. Sleeping in the rear window on long car trips, or laying in the floorboards. On those long car trips, no electronic distractions. Mom would read, or you all would actually talk or play games. License plate games, road sign game, etc. Remembering the "markers" on 8-tracks to get to the beginning of the song that you wanted on another track ("Okay, if I switch from track 1 to track 3 right after the third chorus of Love Gun, it'll put me at the beginning of Rock and Roll All Nite..."). (FWIW, I'm 43...)
  17. Sadly, I don't think they're coming back, either. No good reason for them to. Better MPG and lower emissions than 4-strokes, and thats going to be the argument. FWIW, I LOVE two strokes. Wish I could have picked up several in 2006, still in the crate, and just put them away. Coulda woulda shoulda.
  18. I'm not affiliated with this, but thought it may be attractive to someone. I'm digging the SV, but would seriously consider a DL for a next bike. http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/2328072780.html
