Sounds like she went doing what was near and dear to her heart. If I could be so lucky when its my time....... R.I.P rider...
-
cool-set to record The descriptions says its about the 10 (iirc) most dangerous roads in the world.

Nice lift table. I put my Bike Pro wheel chock on the front of mine. Roll up and in and it locks the front tire in. When I bought mine I also bought one of those cheap HF chocks, but didn't like how flimsy it seemed, plus it did not have the lock in it.

Very sweet double nickle.

The msm cries 'Foul' at anything anti Obama.

Wow, right down through the middle

I just don't see a way to make it totally devoid of piracy. Not a way that really works and is fair and equitable for everyone.

For real! We rode over Monarch pass last summer, on 50 in Colorado @ 11'300 ft, and I had the pucker factor going on then! On the road no less, not on a high ridgeline covered in snow. Just watching the video had the spasms starting back up....lol

I have 2 pairs of Rockies-insulated and waterproof, one I keep put up just for deer season, and the other pair is what I use for general stuff out in the stuff. Those I used for working out in sub zerro temps and in whatever kind of weather came along. Both pairs were USA made (so they're old as the hills). During gun season the hunting pair had the rubber on the sole crumble and fall off. Yesterday I pulled my work pair out and they did the same thing! Unreal....so been looking on http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/Main.aspx?, seems they have some good prices.

Is that what I did? And just how in the fuck do you think you know how much I paid for my bike? Let me clue you, you don't. And no one bags on Harleys, huh? LOL. And do not assume I am the typical Harley rider like you mention. I am far from it. I know, I'm pissin in the wind here. But I NEVER come at anybody about how great my shit is. And I always try and appreciate other's stuff even if I think its a pos. Its a respect thing. Take it or leave it, its your deal.
-
True, my bike is carburated and has no brain.
-
Maybe you're right. Always had a problem of saying what I felt.

LOL, guess I got it wrong.... Maybe I shouldn't have used the phrase 'trailer queen', but I did, just not with any disrespect meant. I'm not rich enough to have a trailer to tow a bike even if I wanted to. I couldn't afford the extra gas to do it either. I ride because I like to, its cheaper, and I just plain do not want to drive that far. Guess if you want to call that bragging, go for it. I'm just thankful I could afford to buy a used Harley many years back. So I ride it whenever I can, where ever. No biggie, and I could care less what people think really. Just like I don't gaf what someone else rides. Just ride. Funny, people get all butt hurt because I say 'trailer queen', but I have read lots and lots here in other threads capping on Harleys, yet I just let people go on spreading their bs. I don't agree, but I don't say much of anything. There is a strong anti Harley sentiment on this site. Maybe its just better if we don't attend the OR meet. Probably just be singled out because I am on a dreaded Harley. Yeh, probably better for all of us.
-
Yep, 2talltim, you are right. My bad. Sad to see him go like this. RIP Joepa
-
LOL, you buy what you want, right? I did the dirt bike bs before the day of crotch rockets. Now I want to ride comfortably, not all twisted up and bent over. Yep, I prefer to ride mine, not trailer it. So, you worry about impressing people, I will just ride. I quit trying to impress people a long time ago. And no, at my age, I probably could not ride a 600RR, whatever that is, for any distance.

No trailer queen here either. The ride down to the Smokeys is nothing coming from here. Riding 10-11 hours on the slab, now that's something to avoid imho....lol

Todays electronics is cheap shit that costs big bucks, and the specs sound better, but those specs are deceiving. Audiophiles know this and buy up these old stereo pieces. With the 80's we saw the beginning of the end of those days and when the 90's and onward got here everything became cheap plastic throwaway junk. I've got this big bucks Pioneer home audio system pushing something like 800 watts and while it sounds good, my little 2238 blows it away easily. Listening to vinyl on my dual 1218 through a set of Marantz floor speakers and Rectilinears III Highboys makes the digital sound coming through my Bose and reworked American Accoustic speakers sound second rate, imho. Am thinking of letting my Pioneer SX 636 go though. Let someone else have it all claned up for their listening enjoyment.
-
We'll probably take 23. Seems about the same amt of time going down thru Lexington, and that means super slab time. NO THANKS.
-
Mostly they all went cheap...everything but the price. I've got an old Sherwood cassette player but the rubber bands inside deteriorated, and I have a sweet Pioneer SX 636 that I recently picked up. Had it playing some fm music, then I pushed a button and I knew immediately there was a problem....button felt all gummed up....and the fm quit playing. Couldn't get the darned button to release. So I can see it needs to be cleaned and serviced, but that's no biggie. For a couple hundred $$'s or so think what it will sound like. NONE of the new stereo electronics sounds anywhere near as good. My little Pioneer SX 434 sounds freakin awesome and it pushes much less rms power. My Marantz 2238 is in getting re capped and cleaned, and the next one to go in is the Marantz 2265B, but I'll have to wait to save some more $$$ first. Back in the 90's I had an old Kenwood. Great receiver, but it started having 'channel' problems too, plus static. Took it into a couple of reputable shops and they said it would be cheaper to buy a new one than to get the old Kenwood fixed.

So ride down 23. From here I mapped it at about 7.5 hrs, going the speed limit....lol

Its been about 10 years since we were in the Smokeys, didn't know MV was run down. 3 nights at Creekside saves me nearly $150 over Fontana, so its a no brainer, besides we don't mind a nice ride down thataways....$50/night is pretty good rates. But nothing is reserved yet. Will check out some of the closer burgs first. Though we're figuring on riding back up the BRP if things work out, so we'd be on the right side of the mts for that. We're riding down, heck, that's half the fun. As far as Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge goes, we're staying clear of those joints. Way too commercialized and way way too many cages, mostly stop n go traffic with most of it being stopped. lol
-
Ok, just mapped this out and its more like 1 hr 15 min between Creekside and Fontana Village. Anyone interested?

http://creeksidelodge.com/ I talked to Carol last night and got a commitment for a rate of $50 per night (plus 11% tax) for the week of June 3 through the 10th. She said it was less than an hour's drive to Fontana's. I have been told this is a very clean stay, has a donut shop next door that also serves meals. I was told there is a nice restaurant within walking distance. I talked to the little lady and we are going to try and make it, more toward the end of the week, on thru Sat. night.
