  1. New furnace will run you $2500-$3000. $4500 if you want the highest efficiency model. Ask me how I know. Cost goes up if you need any modifications to your duct work. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  2. I use the Dupont multi-use lube also. But it has to be the dry lube. Web Bike World did I good review on it. Although last I heard they changed the formula and now is crap. I bought dozen right before they changed it so I'm on my last can :-( Also put the lube on after a ride. I just put the bike on stands right after I get back home from work and spay with lube while still warm. I then clean the chain with wd40 once a month. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  3. Welcome. I'm in Canton and work in Cuyahoga Falls.
  4. I spun a bearing and messed up my lower case. Fubard the thrust plate. I ended up tearing down the whole motor. It would have cost me $700 in used parts. Found a used motor for $1k. But I wouldn't have known without tearing down the engine. It could have been just $250 in parts which would have made that the better route. Unless you are looking for an excuse to get a new bike, you need to at least see what you are dealing with. Tear it down.
  5. How much for SAG setup? Seems like that is a popular choice. Do you sell tires or prefer we just ship them your way?
  6. Coincidentally I just bought a set from DDM but yet to put them on. The R1 forums love DDM and seems to do pretty well. The price is right as well.
  7. Another vote for the Diavel. I like the power cruiser. In reality it is too expensive. I'd probably like to pick up a nicely nodded Yamaha road star warrior. Nice low power cruiser.
  8. Very inspiring. I need to do this as well. Best of Luck man!
  9. I have the low-end version, cycle hill, from Nomar. No more scratched rims and it's paid for itself in the 2-3 years I've had it. I have the balancer from them as well. http://www.nomartirechanger.com/product_p/tc-cycle%20hill%20standard.htm
  10. Dude! it could definitely have been worse, but you do have bad luck! People are definitely getting lax about bikes there are not a lot on the roads anymore. Hope you heal up fast. Now you got a winter project to tinker with at least.
  11. So did he give you a warning and a ticket to Ed? Or both got a warning?
  12. WOW! Kudos to you on being aware and driving defensively! You probably saved her life as well.
  13. I met a guy who was 70+ years old. He was coming back from a 700+ mile "trip" on a 1198. His wife was on a monster 696. You're as young as you feel. For me, my street bike is on deck to be my track bike. So when the 50th R1 gets mangled beyond repair on the track, then my '11 R1 will take over. So if Yami ever gets their crap together and updates the R1, then it will most likely be that. However, I'd take a look at a S1000RR also. If my 50th is going strong and I could add a third bike to the stable it would be Diavel.
  14. When I was a kid I used to know someone who had an actual crotch rocket. He lived in New Mexico and bought it from a now defunct company called ACME. I called him uncle Will. Unfortunately the last time I saw him was at his funeral... Come on! Who drops an anvil out of a plane. Poor guy didn't even see it coming. I miss the hairy bastard.
  15. How much just for the transition shield?
  16. i really should attend a Motoseries track day. Nelson ledges and Beaver are so much closer than Grattan or Gingerman. I've done Grattan twice this year and that's about it.
  17. Usually my first choice is local. However none of the dealers ever have what I need except oil and filters. A simple bolt is hard to find locally. So I end up ordering from STG, motomummy, and motorsports. I the operations at Honda East. I used to live in Detroit and work on Toledo. You guys fixed my bike after a crash and did great job. I see prices for new bikes at pretty great price there too. To be honest, your parts and accessories area is more geared to MX. But that seems to be typical of most brick and mortar stores lately. Id love to see a store that carries more street and track gear. Overall nothing bad to say about Honda East. Price and availability earns my business. cust service keeps my business
  18. The Head says keep the bike. As the more experienced members have said, you'll learn more on the hawk. Undeniable! The Heart says life is short, carpe diem. Get a bike that moves your soul. I moved up to an R1 much earlier than I should have. Had a couple of get-offs that I know my beginner bike could have helped me avoid. Luck and blessings kept me alive and intact. But it could have easily ended badly. With that said... the first time I laid eyes on the 50th anniversary R1, I drooled, lusted, wanted, obsessed. Best and worst decision I made. I'd do it again.
