Ouch. Glad everyone is ok though.

I was in WV and a coal truck spilled a load mostly on the grassy median of a major highway. People were shoveling it up in there own cars/trucks faster than any paid clean up crew. None of this compares to concrete though. Yikes once that dries!

I guess Yamaha's are different. From off, turning the key does not turn on the headlights, only the tail and parking lights. One I hit the starter the headlights come on. I was going to suggest that, but based on what tpoppa said it's probably not the case. Is the issue consistent or intermittent?

YZF 600R. Aka Thundercat. Huge banana boat seat that is plush. Sportbike style. Great first bike. Great commuter bike (50mpg). Can lower an inch and not compromise handling too much. Can still have fun in the twisties. I think this meets all your requirements. One of the best model specific forums on the web. Can be had for $3k.

SOLD. Major sellers remorse, but the wife is financially happier... And its all about her... Gonna have to make the 50th track bike pull double-duty again. Man, I wish I didn't snip all that "excess" wires. At least I got something to wrench on now.

Nice! Gonna chop it and do a cafe racer?

HILARIOUS ending dude. Man that was a good day! Thanks for all the incriminating evidence! Doh!

Well I'm glad you cleared that up Brian. Honestly I don't care if I go faster. I just want to be smoother and learn things and ring out my bike where I can't on the street. I've done over a dozen intermediate track days but have no delusions that I'm faster than i am. I have no aspirations to race. I don't even know my time because i don't own nor want to own a lap timer. But I'm ok with that. I get to hang with friends for a weekend. Bench race and tell tall stories of imaginary conquests. Unfortunately it doesn't change the fact that there are not any full weekends at MO other than the one in may or April. It takes me a while to get into the groove at a track. By the time I'd be comfortable dusk would settle in. I'm sure Rusty's opinion about twilight days are not unique. I wouldn't want to hold any one up. Ideally MO would have Friday twilights with full regular days on Sat and Sun. I'd pay a premium for that schedule.

Rusty, the problem with your comments is that it gives the impression that the day is all about "A" boys. There are so many limited days on the weekends. Now you throw out this rule about sending people home of they are too slow?! And make comments about it used to be more fun when it was "A" rules. Fun for who? You? But not the "I". If i was sent home I'd demand a full refund. There is nothing in the rules about minimum times. How do you objectively determine if an " I" is experienced enough? So tell me when a slow " I" can have a track day on the weekend. Another reason why I haven't gone to MO in a while. They just don't give a shit about M/C riders... That's my perception. Reading your posts just confirms it. I'll drive to Grattan or Gingerman and spend my money there.

NoI don't know why people buy Lexi, acuras, infinities, Lincolns, audi, etc. Most cases they are rebadged versions of their sister brands. If you want luxury, I'd stick with beemers or Benz. If you want SUV, I'd look to explorer or 4runner. Your list is a pretty wide range in style and options. A Terrain vs a C300 could not be any more polar opposites. Start By deciding what it is you want, an SUV vs a Sedan. That would reduce your list in half. I'd start there and think about what you are going to use it or for and your driving preference (comfort, performance, status, reliability) Comfort? Then c300 or is250 from your list or else consider a Taurus. Performance? Lexus from your list or else Beemers, Status? ... You get the point. Car shopping is fun. Buying not so much. But I love trolling auto trader.

Holy Hell! You need to label this NSFW since I just creamed my pants! -
It's natural to be hesitant. Best advice is learn or figure out what went wrong. How old are the tires. Was the tire pressure checked. IMO, getting back an sooner rather than later is best. My first crash was due to gravel on the road. To this day I'm unusually cautious around gravel. But I got back on and started to educate myself on gravel. I'll never be 100% confident but I'm ok with that. Another time I crashed a new bike when I took a left turn to fast and hit several ruts on the road that messed with my suspension which was still stock. Now I take ringer in setting up my bikes suspension. My point is, learn what caused it, whether it is is mechanical, environmental, out mental. Attack the issue. And then move on. Don't just get back on the horse. Assess, resolve, attack. The longer you wait to attack the problem the more doubt settles in.

Bells are the bomb. I have the Star - Day of the Dead. Graphics are so detailed and out of this world. It's several years old and is the nicest one I've had. I've never had problems with the padding or the magnet. And that's with me pulling out the lining and washing several times. Super stable at speeds. I use for track and commuting and twistes. Also comes with a nice helmet bag. I picked up a photo chromatic shield and it is worth every penny. Never have to carry two shield again. I'm a Bell fan for life.

EPIC. Thanks guys for taking the time to do the videos!

You're a bit far from me but my daughter would loved that pig one. To bad her birthday was over a month ago. I'll keep it in mind for next time.

The KitKat pigs is HILARIOUS! Very creative. So is this your profession or just a hobby?

How about some good news. Stories about people helping others, saving kittens from trees, strippers giving free dances.
-
In my defense the R1 was just to powerful. I believe the earth shifted underneath us when I got on the gas. Yeah... I'll stick with story.
-
Yeah. I thought I paid Dan to edit that out. I haven't done that since I first started riding. That dropped to the right quicker than I thought it would. My second "doh" moment in that video.

Coolio! Thanks Derek and Dan!

That's sick! Looks like 1 guy flipped on the others. He got 30 years and other 3 for life sentences. Depravity and no morals is a symptom of a broken society.

You're my hero.
