To me it's not just not worth the risk. That's me. If you guys are ok with it and have positive experience, kudos to you. For me, replacing a $200 part early that needs replaced frequently anyways is worth the extra safety and peace of mind.

Get new tires. Last thing you want is have to get a new tire while on a long trip. Even with TPMS and it being a slow leak. You'll waste half a day trying to find a dealer over the weekend. I don't go cheap on helmets and tires. I never plug. This isn't a car tire. Most of the surface of the m/c tire is going to continually flex and expand as you lean and accelerate and decelerate. Not worth $200 IMO. Peace of kind is priceless.

The family will be there. We drive by it on the way to the Y. First time I saw it we were just driving by. People can just walk through all these flags and when to realize there are names attached to these flags it sends chills of patriotism through you. Then you remember that memorial day is not about bbqs and an extra day off.

Great job Brian. I'm hoping the guy will not take offense and continue to ride. I think he just need some guidance and people to ride with who will help him work on skills and pace. We've all been there.

Heated gear is for pussies. Steve McQueen didn't have heated gear. He rode like man, smoked, drank, whored, pretty sure he shit logs the size of Winnebagos. Wet soggy pants... That's a real badge of honor...unless you're 3 years old. Then it's just sad.

Did you see that horse practically buck the Amish buggy when we came up on it? The next 4 or 5 buggies after that I shifted up to 5th gear and kept her at 20 mph just so my crossplane didn't freak them out. I think it was still loud. I know a field of sheep took off when we came up on them. That's right boys and girls the R1's Siren song scares women, children, sheep, and Amish horses.

That was my biggest "oh shit" moment of the ride since it could have involved other riders. Combination of dirty road and not paying attention. Derek did wave us to slow down, but apparently I was having to much fun to pay attention. Whew.

Well seeing this is postponed to Sunday,I think I'm game for this orgy. Just debating if my ass can handle 6am at 35 degrees. As of now I am planning to meet you guys at Lodi at 7am. I'm not sure what group I should be in when we get to the group ride but I may just pick med-fast or medium depending on the smallest number of riders.

Bumping this back up. Mileage up to 3900 ish. New Q3 Dunlop's with less than 200 miles on her. Added a hotbodies light cover over the headlights over the winter. I have the factory service manual and records of all the work I've done on her. All stock parts included. My dog is having a third surgery so I need funds to pay for that. Motivated to sell. Willing to deliver.
