  3. I have a 529 started for each of my kids. As far as I see it, my goal is to be able to save enough so they don't have to get financial aid. I had of $30k when I was done. My parents could pay for most of my expenses. I want to be able to have my kids be debt free coming out of college. Pros: Tax Deferred, earns interest like a mutual fund, I'm pretty sure there is no yearly cap, and you CAN use them in any state. (this is not a prepaid tuition for a state school we are talking about), balance can be transferred to another child. Cons: Used for college or else pay a penalty, will affect financial aid, watch out for high fees (but you should be doing that with your other investments as well). I've not heard anything that says it is a TERRIBLE investment vehicle. I treat it as a forced savings for the kids that I hope will allow them to be debt free when they done with college and move back in with me...

  5. https://ups.managehr.com/screening/professional/jobdetail.aspx?jobreqid=38900&l=OHCLS&p=0&howheard=P2216 www.indeed.com has a good listing of jobs. It pulls all types from several jon search sites. UPS is a great company. I used to work for them probably 10 years ago in Columbus.
  6. welcome from north canton
  7. you get what you pay for. here's a second review: http://www.zxforums.com/forums/zx-6r-forum/53600-chain-advice.html I'd stay away. Motomummy.com has some good deals on chain kits. as well as STT. I'm sure Nathan at RD would help out as well.
  8. No full weekends again. Not everyone can take vacation days to attend. This is the closets track to me and I've ridden it the least...

didnt see that ending coming with what happened with Tigs and Pope. Gemma is a bitch and it will backfire (assuming she was the one who ratted out Tara) Bobby is overactin. He givin up the VP patch for that? Juice has no loyalty. Not sure what will happened to Clay. Kind of a central character but how does he fit in anymore now that he had to give up the cut? Season overall was probably my least favorite.
  10. Wayne State University is in the Burbs, not actual downtown. I lived in the Detroit Metro area for 12 years. Good roads out west of Ann Arbor. Also North. It may not be as technical as some of the SE Ohio stuff, but it is nice. Check out http://www.redlinesuperbike.com/. They have a good group of riders and events. All my best friends are in the D-Town burbs. I've done several one day trips up to D-Town. I go to Grattan and Gingerman several times a year as well. You'll love it up there. And believe it or not, they get less snow than in NE Ohio thanks to the snowbelt down here. IMO, Michigan cage drivers are better than Ohio drivers. 80MPH flow of traffic is the norm, they actually know that the left lane is a passing lane rather than a cruising lane, and they actually move over. Good luck Doc!
  11. Shit mike, I didn't know you had your CCW/CPL! Thanks guys. Uniontown is a stone throws away. I'll reach out to Rich.
  12. Columbus is a little too far. 2 hours drive and we've got little ones that we'll need to arrange babysitting and all. I'll check the others. I really want a place that will basically hold my hand as a complete newb. Especially for the selection process for my wife and I as well as safety classes.
  13. thanks. I'll look into them.
  14. My wife and I are interested in taking some classes and learning about guns. Safety, training/practice, maintenance, etc. Main goal is personal protection, zombie preparation, CCW. I'm in the N.Canton area. Can anyone recommend a good place to go to that has classes, a range, and is a dealer? Basically somewhere that will help us get started as complete novices, find the right guns for us, etc.

  16. http://www.kneedraggers.com/MOTOCENTRIC-MOTOTREK-MOTORCYCLE-COVER This is what I have. It has heat panels, but it is uselss for my R1 as it is placed lower for side exhausts. this should be fine for your rides. It's inexpensive and lightweight. says it's water resistent, but haven't tested as it's more for a winter blanket.
  17. You're the smartest guy I know.
  18. I'd have called the cops for sure. Yes, it could have been a girl who was crying wolf, but what if it wasn't? Knowing you could have stopped a domestic violence situation but didn't would eat me up with regret. At the best case scenario, you get the cops to come out and cool the situation down and you can at least go to bed. If is a crazy girl, then at least it may make her think twice about crying wolf. At the worst case, you get it officially on police record that there was a domestic disturbance that would help the lady's case if it is a long-term abuse situation.
  19. personally i'd let him make up his own mind. you can only guide him toward the water. Sounds like you care for him. you could do a preemptive strike and buy a cheap 250 or 500 and give it to him. If he wants to get rid of it he has to give it back to you. but otherwise it's his to ride and do whatever. At 17, his need for instant gratification will win and he'll ride that before going out and getting that busa. eventually it will wain and he'll lust after the busa again, but at least you gave him a few months or more on a good starter bike. Then after than you can sell it.
  20. Rain AND cold... I'm out. Gonna do some wrenching on the bikes...its almost as good of a consolation prize.
  21. I'm very sorry about your loss. I lost a very close friend at the Gap about 6 years ago. I've never had the stomach to go back and almost hung up my helmet for good. Time helps with the healing. In the meantime, grieve and then celebrate his life.
  22. Yeah, in "I". I was pitted down below in the first strip against those wooden retaining walls. The weird thing was that in general Ive seen worse days where you have people breaking the 6ft rule all day long. But Sat the riders were not that bad and the track was pretty good after the second session. Don't get it.
  23. natedogg, I was at Grattan this weekend too. I don't think I've seen so many red flags in one day. The "I" group had only 2 full sessions on Sat. The others were doubtfully more than 10 minutes.
  24. shit that's a lot of stuff. Did a Matco truck overturn on the highway and i missed it?
