careful... My wife owns a mustang. She also worked at Ford and helped develop and launch the 05 Mustang. And all 97 lbs, 5 feet of her will either kick everyone's ass or at least nag you until you seriously contemplate a homosexual lifestyle. -
beating a dead horse... I've had plenty of tickets in my life. I've fought many. I've come to the realization that if I did the crime, I pay the fine. Just gotta man up. if he was in the wrong it is one thing. But in this case, maybe this will teach you to take it to the track. It's cheaper in the long run.

Look on the AKC website. Every dog has certain tendencies. Make sure you are honest with yourself. You can't run off for weekend trips without thinking about the dog. You can't leave her at home all day on Saturday when they've been alone all week while you work. For me, a small dog is not my type. Napoleon complexes and too yappy. I like them big a dumb...like Zach's suggested English Mastiff. Also checking on the AKC website or google search will tell you their genetic problems. i.e. pugs and bostons have higher than average respiratory problems and eye health issues. English bulldogs have to have their wrinkles cleaned with qtips every week otherwise will develop infections. I have a Rott and a Dobe. Rotts are thick headed, stubborn and have hip issues. I just paid $4k to repair her torn ACL. We;ve had rescued retired greyhounds off the track. We've spent thousands on vet bills over the 10+ years, fostered over 7 rescue dogs, and have been owned by 6 dogs at various times. We stopped when we had 2 kids because of the time, $, and kids safety. Just got to do research and go meet some. If you are set on a specific breed but want the feel good affect of getting from a shelter, do searches on rescue groups. http://www.clevelandcanine.com/rescuegroups.html there is a pug resuce listed at that site. Good luck

What a shame... If you don't have nothing nice to say... If we can't help our fellow man / brother on a bike, then who? -
All good advice above. i was in similar situation and felt very overwhelmed. But if you chip away at it you can do it. I'm student loan free now and I had over $60k out of college. if you CAN'T consolidate then do what I did in order: 1. pay at LEAST the min payment on each one. (don't hurt your credit) 2. on the highest interest loan, pay as much extra as you can until paid off...OR 3...if you have a loan under $1k-$2k, pay as much as you can each month to pay off then go back to #2. 4. as each is paid off, put that amount on the next loan. By the last one you'll be making large payments. So for example, for simplicity sake your 4 loans with Min pay of $50. So that would be a min of $200/month. Let's say can scrap an extra $50. Loan 1 pay $50 Loan 2 pay $50 Loan 3 pay $50 Loan 4 pay $100 Then when loan 4 is paid off: Loan 1 pay $50 Loan 2 pay $50 Loan 3 pay $150 fast forward...Loan 1 pay $250... Once this is all done, then you feel like you got a raise. THis is what i did. I didn't consolidate because the rates on my loans were less than any new loan without any collateral; which i didn't have at the time. At first it didn't seem like I was getting anywhere. Then when the first one was paid off it felt good (which is why i suggest attacking the lowest balance one first for a quick "win"). Good luck and keep at it. Remember a lot of people try to take the easy way out and file bankruptcy, but federal loans are not forgiven. Glad you are making an effort to honor your debts!

PM sent. I hope to have family or friends half as good as you if i was in the same situation. Good luck with everything! -
Very nice story behind the tat! Mine was about 3 hours. I think i cried for about 2 hrs and 45 minutes of it. The other 15 minutes was when he and I were taking a couple of smoke breaks together. Then he'd get ready while i started to whimper. i think the outline was more painful than the shading. The outline felt like he was just slowly slicing me over and over again. But you have to realize I cry when I bump my little piggy and cried during Charlotte's Web. So it's all relative. SOunds like you've really done your homework. Good luck and hope to see the final work!

THIS +1000 I don't want big brother telling me what to do. including when to wear a helmet or seat belt. With that said, i ALWAYS were a helmet and seat belts, but that is my choice.

MUST...RESIST...SENDING...PM... In all honesty, our family is probably not the best. My dog is an idiot and bull headed so I have to vocalize my displeasure on occasion. so that would probably freak her out? Also she is recovering from ACL surgery. My wife's dog is a Dobe though so Cora probably would get a long. MUST...RESIST... How is she with kids and other dogs? have you tried socializing her with other dogs that are comfortable with men so she can learn by example. Also my son is 6 years old and probably will be the next dog whisperer. so wondering if a situation like that would help. Good luck and please dont send me an email or PM with lots of pictures and sad tales of woe that i could send to to my wife...

I appreciate everyone's feedback and comments. I know for SURE that it is mostly between the ears and lack of confidence or abundance of fear. etc. The question I am actually asking is about line selection at slower speeds versus line selection at a quicker pace. As I was following the CR and watching with my peripheral I was noting his turn in points and lines. In other words, at Grattan, the turn into the bus stop, coming off the fast sweeper. If I divide the track into thirds, I was starting out in the outside third of the lane before tipping it in. The CR would be more toward the middle third of the lane. Using my line i would drive out and be in line for the uphill charge. Using his line I actually ended up a lot wider and off the line. of course when he took his line it was fine for him as he was able to lean it over much more and maintain that line. I know If I take his line and just lean more I'd be able to follow his line. however, I acknowledge that i am working on my confidence back up and will eventually get there. however, the in the meantime with my slower pace, do i take his line and risk coming out wide. or do I take my wider line and progessively work toward the middle before tip in. Same thing in the off camber turn 3 and also I think it's 5 right after the hump into the esses. appreciate the insight guys!!

I think it is organized to a certain extent. The killing of Ambassador Stevens was for sure organized. but the riots are not entirely. you have to realize that most 20 somethings in most middle east countries are not employed as there is not enough work to do. I'm not saying it's a catalyst but it sure is the fuel that keeps it going. Idle hands... Also if you have nothing to lose then why not? add in a few organized fundamentalists to be the catalyst and boom, you got an Arab Spring and Embassy Riots.

Thanks for the comments so far! My friends mentioned to me that I was riding really tight. I thought I was loose but noticed certain muscles ached more than it should have after the first day, but I chalked it up to not being on the track in over a year and my general love for Krispy Kremes and pizza. Then I saw a video of my self. After I got over the fact that i was a moving obstacle to everyone else on the track, I noticed I was barely hanging off at all compared to where i ended the season last year. One thing you guys mentioned that i didn't really think of was my sight. You guys are right about the fact that i was not looking far ahead. After you guys mentioned it I just recalled a couple of occasions where I caught myself looking almost straight down at the apex in the bowl and the bus stop. I'll have to work on that. I haven't had my frame checked for straightness. may be worth the effort to do that. As for the suspension I think you are right. i was going to take advantage of the on track suspension guy but I figured I needed to work out the cobwebs first. I'll do that for sure on the next track weekend they are available. do you guys think that is what is causing my lines to widen out? Should I stay on my wider entry lines and work on closing them up as I gain confidence back or should I take the shorter lines that everyone else was taking.

I've never been a fast rider on the track, but my last full weekend at the track was last year at Grattan in June. It was probably my best in terms of consistency, lines, assertiveness into the corners, etc. First time I dragged knee in multiple corners, braked late, etc. Anyways, after that weekend, I went to Mid-O and layed the bike down, tore a hamstring, and pretty much had a shitty track day. I had engine issues as a result and just recently got the bike back together after much procrastination and lack of mechanical know-how. So I did my first track day over Labor Day weekend at Grattan this year. It was a 14-15 month hiatus. I was stiff, apprehensive, and lacked confidence. One thing I noticed as I was being towed around by a CR, I was taking the corners really wide. typical start out wide to flatten the turn and squirt out faster. But the lines the CR and my friends were taking were much more aggressive. I tried to follow those lines but it just caused me to go wider. I assume it was because I wasn't back to my original form (i.e. wasn't getting off the bike nearly a much as I did last year) so I couldn't lean the bike over to turn it quicker. But the CR kept wanting me to follow his lines. So until i get my form and confidence back up, do I take the wider lines and eventually move my lines in closer? Or am I missing something or doing something incorrectly causing me to go wide on exit with the closer turn in. Thoughts?

I'm in North Canton, near The Strip off Portage. Wherever is fine with me. If there can be some Akron, Canton meet up even better.

+1 FJR1300 If willing to go to a 600, YZF600R is a great bike and can be had for ~$4k or less. what is the reason for getting rid of the 998? Maybe that may help us know what you are looking for or not
-
I'll do that. Thanks for the suggestion.

That would have been good to know. The literature in the box it came with said it shouldn't need a charge. but if you do, only use one that doesn't exceed 14 volts....Maybe I misunderstood. my engrish not so good. I guess later this weekend I'll try to see if she starts. Hopefully i didn't fry the battery. My biggest confusion was when I was cranking it, it would just start to die like the battery was draining. The dash lights would eventually flicker off as the cranking slowed down. Doesn't seem like that would have been a fuel issue. I replaced and correctly checked the spark plug gaps, I even swapped out the starter motor for one i knew worked, checked the starter relays. I guess it's all a moot point. Because it did eventually start and was able to run it for awhile and also restart it. That was a couple of days ago. And if it doesn't start again this weekend, then it doesn't matter cuz I'll just close the garage door and start my car up and take a "nap".

If I bought a Honda, then I'd never have gained all this wonderful and intimate knowledge of my steed...(not sure what my point is...) I'm hoping it was just a kinked fuel line too. I'll try to start her up this weekend and see if the issue is gone. If not, then please scan the news for a suicide attempt in N.Canton. I'll probably screw that up too...
-
Yup. I came home last night after she sat for a day without a trickle charger and she fired right up!?! I let her run for a few minutes and shut her down to see if she could restart. Well she didn't. So I unhooked the battery and started from scratch and reinstalled the fuel tank as well. I waited a few minutes and then started albeit pretty roughly. At this point I bolted everything up and took her out for a ride for about 20 minutes. Parked her back in the garage and shut her down. After that it started up again. Must have been the fuel lines is all I can think of. A little nervous that I don't know exactly what it was but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the meeting mouth. Thanks for asking and the help!!
