  1. I'm generally pretty laid back about most things, but mouth noises may one day lead me to murder. I'm sorry for you, man.
  2. Groms are hoon bikes. The story I got was the dude crashed it, got injured and his wife made him sell. He mainly used it as a daily driver. Supposedly. Runs fine and already has bars on it, though they are kinda wide. Will have to see how they feel at the track. May cut them down or get some more narrow ones. Need to get a number plate, some LED strips for front blinkers and some sort of LED headlight so it can stay 'kinda' street legal as a race bike. I also need to drop some new springs and oil in the front and toss a new spring on the shock, so another $200 or so. Can't complain... all-in after everything I need to do (which honestly isn't a lot) I will be under $2,000 on this Grom. This will be my main/only street bike after the Triumph sells. Deal's Gap next year gonna be interesting
  3. parked the 2nd racebike in the garage after its maiden trailer ride home.
  4. i'm gonna be going slow this year. 400 mile loop through GA would be interesting.
  5. lame, dude. there go your rain tires.
  6. cold is here, let the fighting begin.
  7. Looks like someplace a person ends up when they're not allowed to go on a gap trip unless they bring their wife.
  8. and then you realized it's not a real holiday?
  9. christ hopefully they can get the bearings in early next week and get it to you by the end of the week... 3 weeks until we leave for 'Bama.
  10. I used straps attached from a hand-fork-lift to the frame of my old ducati to do an entire front-end swap 2 winters ago. it was stable.
  11. EU is driving the emission changes in the internal combustion industry. Manufacturers don't want to have multiple engines for multiple markets so they are streamlining across the board to fit with EU's tight new regulations. In some cases, this means that legacy bikes that would be too costly to re-design vs what they bring in won't be seeing any updates.
  12. I just wanted to "accidentally" overlap the Mini weekend
  13. in 5 to 10 years it won't be a problem. you'll be able to have all the 2-stroke torque and power you want without having to worry about emissions at all.
  14. Wellp, set dates and I'll figure out what I'm doing then. I'm going to try to make it down the weekend of the 7th for the Smoky Mountain Crawl I think. I wouldn't really call it an inconvenience if I ended up going down there twice in June.
  15. gokarts this winter, one weekend a month. will probably stick with the electric karts. also, XRs for days it's above 40, if we can find somewhere to ride them. doing a couple southern track days this winter might be fun too, if the possibility presents itself.
  16. June 5-9 would be my vote. No more late June rainathons.
  17. GA doesn't mess around, with that super speeder law. Hope they didn't get you too bad.
  18. bike had to of been going pretty good since it slid through the grass and launched across the 2 lanes next to the ramp, according to the article.
  19. Work on getting your butt over a little while you're there
  20. Fresh oil and a new front sprocket (back to 16T, from 17) on the CBR. More drive, more whoolies.
  21. Wish I was down there. Managed to get the CBR prepped for the track day in November though, so not a wasted day. We will have some fun in the spring. Gromtastic fun.
  22. Winter enough for me, below freezing this morning.
