  1. Anyone out there have a decent topcase just sitting around? Would prefer something a little bigger, probably 45L or more. E460, V46, maxia. etc etc. Let me know, thanks! -mike
  2. I'm a little bit intrigued by the Mana, does anyone here actually have one or heck ridden one? Thoughts? .. If not, how about the Shiver?
  3. bike is sold, thanks!
  4. I have a 1992 GS500 in red and white. Almost 11k miles, clean/clear title. Bike has aftermarket exhaust, sounds great. Bike has had most everything refreshed earlier in the summer; , fork oil, brake fluid flushes, steering head bearings, engine valve checks, fuel lines, throttle/clutch cables.. etc. Tires are older and could probably use a change but its rideable as is. Its not the prettiest bike and has been dropped while standing still, but its small and solid.Could use a little TLC, b. Its my brothers bike, but he's off to college so no time for the bike and its sitting in my garage... Pictures attached, its decent starter/cheap bike with a clean/clear title. Looking for $1100 OBO! Located in Old Brooklyn area of cleveland.
  5. Hmm I like it... and I was looking for an inexpensive project. Thanks for the heads up
  6. I had a similar situation, but a snow plow doing a lot pulled out into traffic and caused roughly 7k in damage, on probably a 9-10k car. (2010 focus ses). I argued that it was nearing being totaled, but they assured me it was worth more than I thought it was and advised me to go the diminished value route after it was repaired. Now, obviously the value has tanked and as we all know hit cars are never the same. So i guess I can do my own valuation and do some trade in quotes and go from there.
  7. Curious if anyone does auto appraisals for diminished value in NE ohio, or has used someone with good results in the past? Thanks! -mike
  8. I learned to ride on a cm400.... the 400/450s were on the top of the inexpensive list.... the drums actually work just fine. Around town the CM is a riot.
  9. Looking for something with a decent size engine, at least 400cc. Late 70s, 80s, 90's. Prefer standards or similar. Anyone got some old bike sitting in their garage they would like to let go, around 1k give or take? Open to anything really. Let me know, thanks! -Mike
  10. Anyone have any industry preview tickets for this? Would like to try and avoid the crowds, but those are $90 apiece, would like to save a little... If I could...
  11. I have a 650 but it's taken a few years and lots of tweaking to get it just right... Played with suspension, screens, seats, power adders... Etc.... My bike is now pretty quick, and very comfy... I've mulled selling it for something else... Bt for the money and the custom tailoring to me...it can't be beat
  12. I can echo sapphy.... a lot of places want A LOT of information.

  14. and I do believe there is 2 steps to it no? the initial where the machine checks runout and such and the bead is to be broken and the tire rotated on the wheel, then the next is your standard weights balancing. correct? I do guess though if the machine dosen't let it you do a half ass job, then i guess you can't..... it isn't like a spin balance i suppose.
  15. unless something has changed, which it probably has... it was my understanding that there is a set point for shops thats "good enough" , like say 20lbs, which is probably fine for 99.8% of vehicles ..... but if you specify what you want... they will work on it and attempt to get it to a lower number. If one is 15 lbs, and another is 8 , etc etc I can work with that, but its that "good enough" that I don't want.
  16. Picked up a 94 miata, looking to see if any knows of a good shop with a hunter road force balancer in cleveland and has a tech willing/capable to get it balanced under 10 lbs per wheel if possible. I would just go down the road, but speaking Miata and persuading your local firestone to get that good of a balance is always a fun time and I'd rather skip the BS. Let me know, thanks! -mike
  17. i had a 77 550... it was a riot.. had the original 4-4 pipes as well. It did NOT like the rain!
  18. glad you are enjoying the corbin scarlett!
  19. I assume the man means the 6 speed. Man I'm at about 28k, I got to catch up!

bumpity... need it gone, fired it up this weekend... runs great.
  21. alright... finally a question tailor made for me.... i have tried a boatload of seats... the stock 650 is horrible... it works...sort of, but it just plain hurts... for my around town and shorter jaunts I use a stock 1000 seat with a alaska sheepskin over it... it actually works really well for at least a couple hours. I tried a corbin and while it was comfortable, it was excessively slippery and I didn't like flying into the tank all the time... I also tried out and a gel seat, and I found it no more comfortable than my 1000 seat with the sheepskin... it might work for you, but it had odd pressure points that I did not enjoy. I cannot recall for the life of me if I tried a sargent, I don't think I have, but I recall it was slippery like the corbin and I don't like really shifting that much. For my long distance seat, I bit the bullet and got on the winter group discount a Russell custom seat. I got the "gripper" vinyl half moon for both the driver & passenger, I also got the heavy duty suspension. I did have to send it back once for modification due to the pocket being too far back and the seat being way too high. Now that it is done up, it is awesome and I can go as long as I want. Usually my butt dosen't tire out anymore, I quit riding because I'm just physically spent... but I can pretty much ride as long as I want too. The russell was about 550 with the two configuration, but i think you can get the 1 person somewhere around 380/400... depending on when you buy ... etc. I do recommend going the custom route, I spent countless hours and $$$ screwing around with half ass attempts at getting it comfortable, and the russell has been money well spent.
