Was looking at getting into a very low mileage 98 Aero 1100 with hard bags... i'm just not sure if it would be any better at touring than my decked out vstrom....

i noticed it too.... and its not just a HID thing, people with old school lights run their brights constantly. I flash people and they do nothing... im banking on stupid/ignorant and/or don't give a flip...

I have something like this for the Vstrom... its darn close to a La-z-boy and its a vtwin!

For the $, my vstrom 650 has been the best bang for the buck. I've gone from mild off roader to light tourer and it just keeps impressing. It won't scare the bejesus out of you, but it is certainly not slow and I concur it has been as solid as an anvil, oil - gas - go. I tried the 1000 and while it did seem a bit quicker, the extra weight, lumpiness under 4k and the power that borderline exceeded the brakes/chassis just put the vstrom's mojo all out of whack for me. YmMV

I have a slightly smaller one by Nalgene that I picked up on closeout for like $12 ..... it works great on those long hot summer rides, nice to have something to sip on. It even has some reflective piping to make my back standout.

nope I don't think you offered.... but I think I would like to move into dirt some... so anything dual sport and/or street legal dirt would be considered. TL would be fun though!

By ash cave, verizon reception is nill... and its spotty at best in most spots there.

Not ideal, but try lendingclub.com or propser.com LC tends to have better rates in my opinion but prosper will give you $ for almost anything, at a price of course.

Going to chicago here tomorrow for a couple days. If you stay right before new years there are some decent deals. If you stay for the new years eve, the rate goes up quite a bit. but yes, after food, gas, hotel, parking, shopping it gets a little expensive.

I got December and January a couple of days ago.

rode a beat to crap Honda CM400 to class for years, it started and went every single time and never had to do a thing to it. no one gave it a second look, but it did the trick, heck you could kick it over and all would be fine... I don't think you can go wrong with the nighthawks or CBs, but the twins are just dead simple, ala CM, CX, older Hawks, even rebel 250/450.
