Impala, you can get the last body style dirt cheap now that the new one is popular. Guy at work just picked up a 2013 (old style ) with 25k miles for $13k they get 30/22 mpg

+1 on vice grips, plus have a back stop. Was putting them on one time one slipped off the pliers with the garage door open. It went flying like a missile out into the tall grass, took me a hour to findi it.

How ealry you be rolling from your hood? I'm thinking of leaving ass crack ealry from my place ( like 5am ) and only stopping once. Maybe get down early enough to hit some curves and relax at the gap store before the rest of the cabin mates get to Fontana.

Those vstar 950s are great bikes too, wanted one for the wife but at that time a decent priced used one couldn't be found so we bought her the 1100 instead. She loves that thing.

My beginnings were acually a bubbys mini dirt bike back in the 80s but this baby was what got me passionate about steet bikes. 1990 GSXR 750 I owned in thr mid 90s. -

I think if you gave a big sport tourer a chance now you would be impressed. Never thought I would like a big 600 to 700 lb road sofa, but they are so well balanced the weight disappears. Big man should be on a big bike.

Took 514 from Greer to Danville tonight and it was open. Did see some spots where culverts were replaced and road closed signs pulled to the side. so it looks like they are doing the work during the week and opening during the weekend. I could be wrong, but it was open tonight.
