  1. I know iv been blowing FB up with it for a all the ones that seen it there but... My daughter and the Fredericktown Marching Band were on 10tv news this morning rocking it out. She is the short Saxophone player in the left rear. Proud papa here and im sure the kids had a blast. Here is a link. http://www.10tv.com/content/sections/video/index.html?video=%2Fvideos%2F2014%2F10%2F31%2Ffredericktown-marching-band.xml
  2. Yup mount your smart phone, rig up a way to charge it. Then get a Bluetooth for your helmet like Sena so you can have tunes and turn by turn directions in your ear. I have a inexpensive garmin mounted in a dry box as a back up but i use my phone 95% of the time, for almost 10,000 miles this year. Best phone mount out there is the Ram Mounts Xgrip with a mini ball off your clutch or brake bracket. http://www.rammount.com/Products/MotorcycleMounts/RAMMotorcycleMountWizard/tabid/5108/Default.aspx#/ http://www.sena.com/product/product/smh10/

We were real close to butt burner on that ride. Probably only missed it by 100 miles.
  5. check vale is usually down the well by the pump
  6. Nice write, sounds like a fun trip. I love the Microtel in Robbinsville super nice folks and a decent breakfast. One thing you miss out on though was the Cherohala Skyway(the best riding road ever), you were just a few miles away from it and the best BBQ in the area on the other side. Oh well that just means you have to go back now.

I went from sport bike, to adventure bike (wasn't my thing) to my road sofa of a sport tourer. And wondered why I didn't do it sooner. 500 to 600 mile days are a walk in the park. 1100 miles was my longest day with only the last 200 being miserable.
  9. Looks like im out, i was just reminded that my son has a dentist appt at 1:00 and i have to pick him up early from school for it.
  10. Only thing i can think of is if you tire is getting squared off due to a lot of slabbing, maybe when your up on the edge of the squared off section(or edge) it will feel odd or like its slipping. How many miles are on said tire?
  11. Glad to see I'm not the only one that had to google STR3 ..

Yes welcome, we will turn this into Ohio Touring Riders before too long.
  13. Don't think I should be out on my bike with the tire I have on it. Have one coming but probably won't be here till tuesday. But, I debating on still going on the wifes vstar, I can wheel it decently.
  14. This is kinda dumb in my opinion, function before form not the other way around. But to each his own I guess.
  15. Center stand and 100 lb of weight on the rear seat
  16. Ken traded it in for a FJR and he loves it.
  17. That's a sweet deal on a awesome tire! Ran these once on my TL and felt like superman in the twisties. Too bad my C14 would eat them alive.
  18. Old wives tale, unless it's sitting for years
  19. Seems like most of the consensus is..... Big weddings are overrated
  20. Keep it simple and inexpensive. Even if the Mrs. thinks she want to have some huge elaborate wedding I can about bet a in the future even she will wish you did it different. We were poo when we got married, hell i got laid off from my job a month before, and i bet we spent less than $1000 out of our pocket for EVERYTHING, that included the dress(used), tux(rented), all 3 rings(on clearance at JC Penny), hotel the night after. Other things like Church(family church, free), minister (parents paid him ass a present), reception hall(local Big Brothers hall, rented paid by inlaws as a present), catering w/cake(basic summer picnic type food all paid for a prepared by various family member as a gift) DJ (friend my wife knew, as a gift). And after 20 years together (17 married) i couldn't imagine doing it any other way. I'v seen many drop big coin on fancy weddings and for what? When the day is over does it really mean anything more or less? just dont get why some get carried away with weddings. And if your Mrs. to be starts in with "It's her big day" I'd seriously rethink everything, because marrying those types never ends well.
  21. Well it's acually synthetic but not that it makes much difference, and yes its nylon. This last round through the washer with the baking soda helped but it also started to tear the stiching in the arm. So it's going to have to be good enough for now and start looking for a new jacket next spring. I can't complain it was a $50 Ironpony closeout jacket to begin with.
  22. Zac Brown is one of my top 5 faves, that was sweet.
