  1. Yep, it's a long list of billet bling and parts from several different model bikes. There are still a few things to do yet over the winter like some powder coating and some suspension work. I still ride it though, I'm at around 21k miles so far with no intention of making it a garage queen. Heck I had it out today for a 30 minute ride around a couple of the local roads to see how the peg position felt. So far I have the following stuff done to it. Clip-ons, bars and rearsets from CycleCat. Tail lights and exhaust hangers from Jcpackbikes. Bitubo steering damper from WaspWorks Traxxion Dynamics fork internals Pazzo levers Rizoma fluid cups and mount arms Evoluzione clutch slave Joker Machine mirrors TPO Beast velocity stack intakes with K&N pod filters. Hella supertone horn Fren Tubo Oil cooler lines are from a Hypermotard Termignoni race exhaust with performance ecu and powercommander Spiegler stainless brake lines Clearwater voltage sentry Shorai battery relocated under the seat Then there is all the little things I have done to it that are either truly custom or most people would never see. Like rerouting a ton of the factory wiring. Repainted the entire motor black, powdercoated the triple clamps, changed the gauges from white faced to black faced. Put spacer blocks under the gauges to change the angle they sit at. The main power and grounds from the battery got upsized to 4gauge. Relocated the voltage regulator. Ceramic coated the entire exhaust system. It feels like I haven't been able to leave well enough alone.
  2. The normal one I tell everyone. All the gear, all the time. I have been down and my gear saved me from getting any uglier than I already was. The one my dad told me when I started riding; Use your brain, not your feet. Always check how much gas you have before you drive off. A 500lb bike triples in weight when your pushing it to a gas station. From my Mom; Ride safe and don't act like an idiot. If I have to pick you up from the hospital, I will beat you so hard you will need to go back.
  3. Finally got the next step done on my bike. Installed a set of new rearsets from CycleCat.com, and finished it off with the pipe hangers from Jcpakbikes. I am really liking how this has transformed the bike. It looks like it has moved the pegs up and back about 2 inches. Can't wait to do a longer ride and see how it feels. The GP shift is going to take a little getting used to, that's for sure. There are a few more pictures that I have uploaded to photobucket rearsets pictures by vf1000ride - Photobucket Oh, and here is what the old rearsets looked like. The affectionately named, big ugly triangles.
  4. Here is my 500 when I first purchased it. And this is the same gun a few weeks later when I was done messing with it.
  5. I have a Panasonic TH50PZ800U 50" plasma and love it. Most people complain about the plasma tv's, I personally wouldn't trade mine for anything else. Sure it used a little more power from the wall but the image is amazing. I have looked at plenty of high end LCD's and projectors and still prefer the image I get on the plasma. Like other have said, I feel the image on the LCD displays look fake somehow. I have never been able to fully explain what it is about the picture but it looks like it has been over enhanced and no longer looks natural. Here is mine while playing Crysis Warhead from a PC. As you can see it was more than bright enough to show dark blacks and brilliant almost washed out whites. Mine will get some screen burn, I noticed on the 6-7 hour marathon gaming secessions the cross hair and the health meter will leave an afterimage. I would just leave the tv on with the windows screensaver running for an hour or two or just ignore it and go back to normal tv watching and within a few hours if was gone. The biggest thing you need to remember about big box stores is that none of the tv's are calibrated. If the remotes are available, you need to play with the color setting on the tv's you are interested in and see what range of adjustment is available and how good you can make it look. You have no clue who the last person was that messed with the settings and may have made one tv look worst, just so the one's with the higher profit margin look better .
  6. They may be to big but you can't complain they don't last long enough.
  7. I will stay out of this one being I have good knowledge of his bikes.
  8. Not unless your in costume. Otherwise I'll give you
  9. How not to refueling a helicopter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXT2iI_z2Eo
  10. I use the computer the most. Phone only while at work as they have forums blocked
  11. I will start to give out candy again when they start celebrating Halloween around here. I don't find beggars night on any calendar I have looked at so therefor I shall not indulge the idiots that can't call it what it is. Oh, and I have done it in the rain, sleet, and snow. If you can't drag yourself out of the house for free candy even if the weather is bad. What in your life will get your lazy butt off the sofa.
  12. Would be easier turned to see the side of it. From what little of the paint scheme it looks like a 2001 cbr 929.
  13. Here is what it looks like when they do hit a little lower. Got a roughly 20lb turkey while up on rt161. Was doing about 70-75 while passing a car. Roughly 3 grand in damage to the bike. Did the damage you can see along with bending the LH clipon back over 2 inches, smashing the lh switch gear and ripped the gauges clean off the bike. Picture of the dead turkey after the fact. http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii281/vf1000ride/bike%20accident/IMAG0062.jpg
  14. Is that because there wasn't an outfit to go with it? Come on now, it's not fair if we don't get to enjoy the rest. That comment is like the mother of all cock teases.
  15. Did they have cute little tupperware offspring?
  16. Try color WWI pictures. http://www.worldwaronecolorphotos.com/
  17. Not all ducs rattle. Most roar, scare kids and annoy old ladies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhWo4bwuiAs And yes I have have had it back to Brian since then and the new powercommander got rid of the hiccup at low rpm.
  18. I have no tupperware, can I still come and play?
  19. I had gotten a Simmons scope like this one from Vances over the summer. http://www.amazon.com/Simmons-20-60x60-Scope-with-Tripod/dp/B001JTT7WI/ref=sr_1_3?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1350969763&sr=1-3&keywords=simmons+blazer+spotting+scope It's not a bad rig. They had it on sale for I think $75. It doesn't gather enough light and tends to get a little dark turned all the way up to 60x. Keep it between 20-50x and even out to the 200 yard targets you won't have trouble seeing the holes from a 223.
  20. Figured I would post up some new pics now that it has been rebuilt and streamlined. Before rebuild; After rebuild;
  21. That would be very cool. I hate that you only get 30 minutes in the experimental/presidents hanger.
  22. And on the flip side, somebody doing something to restore a crashed bird. http://www.maam.org/p61.html They dug a P-61 black widow out of the jungle in Irian Jaya, Indonesia back in the late 80's early 90's and have been restoring it ever since. They eventually hope to have it airworthy and actually fly the thing.
  23. I would shoot the gun and enjoy it. I have a Browning Gold series sporting clays gun that was made back in 1996 and I love that gun. Yours is a very similar design and should be a very reliable gun.
  24. Looks like the front fell off. http://youtu.be/GgrX7uOZqHI
