  1. Sam, how quickly does the visor transition between clear to tinted? I considered getting one for my Star since I've been toting a spare to swap out between riding to work in the dark and the bright ride home, but the pricetag was hard to justify trying one out when I can get 3 visors for the same money
  2. Sweet! And props to Alan for taking on the new decal biz, he does good work
  3. My first bike ever was a '77 Honda XR75 at age 11. Beat the brakes off that poor little bike until I got a new CR125R, then I got the brakes beat off of me First street bike was a black '82 Kaw 550LTD at age 19. Kerker 4/1 meg, K&N pods, and a huge rear sprocket Chronologically from age 11 until now... '77 XR75 '87 CR125R '77 RM250 '82 KZ550LTD '84 CR250 '81 YZ465 '97 YZF1000R '96 CR250R '08 ZX14
  4. Will miss hangin with you guys and the rest of the OR crew at the campground this year too bro. Had a fun weekend last year. Good racing, good company, good times!
  5. What are you after here? Design ideas or a quote of some sort? Designs, I've no clue what you'd like Quote off the top of my head...."I'm not speeding, just flying low" Or maybe...."8M UP" ??
  6. Tire shine on your wheels will only capture MORE brake dust, use wax for a dry shine that repels dust. And I'd never use tire shine on the sidewalls. No matter how carefully its applied, centrifugal force could still potentially wring some onto the tread
  7. Wife and I decided to make Indy MotoGP our track trip this year instead. We'll be back to MidO next year for sure. GLWS! ( good luck with season )
  8. Bike cleaned up nice Mike. Good to finally see the end of one sweet build, and hopefully all the quirks are worked out for KK and The Mile soon! Now we need a post up a Dayton Route ride so we can hang around the new conversation piece and go rail some corners

  10. I hand polished the wheels on my old YZF and regretted it something fierce. First of all, it took me the better part of 80 hrs and a few weeks to work the sandcasted surface out to a mean shine using all grades from 80grit to 2000grit. I fabbed small tools to work into small corners and crannies. Worst part about it, if you don't rub it out with a good polish on a semi-regular basis then it's definitely going to corrode and fog over the shiny finish since you've removed the protective layer of paint/clear/pc. chrome would be the way to go for best results, or just repaint/pc the frame and swing
  11. "Possibility" that we may make it to KilKare July 27 or 28. I'm anxious to see the new setup in person. There was talk last year about renting Summit MP in Norwalk for an OR meet/race. Rental around a $1000 to have the dragstrip at our disposal for a day, was mentioned - which, with enough participation would be fairly inexpensive to run all you want......what happened to that idea? Where's MachSpd? Believe it was his idea in the beginning
  12. Nice choice, I'm liking the look of the nude sportys more and more. Congrats
  13. This and this. Glad your son is healthy again. You should post up a thread to document your journey with pics and stories so we can all live vicariously through you
  14. That is a sweet tug - wish it was I4" taller AND I had the coin....a big Kawi "K" over that HD would make it go faster glws!
  15. I dont run a chain/sprockets more than 8-10k usually. After a few adjustments, I change it out. Think the service limit constant for most makes is about .5"? May be wrong on that, but if I question the chain I'm swapping it out. $200 on new equip is cheaper than damage to me and the bike should it ever let go.
  16. Meh, doesn't need to be "pretty" since it's hidden imo. Function is there. Definitely should achieve air tight fitment!
  17. Dont blame you, best to be sure it's tip top before attempting to tear it a new one. Be sure to hit me up when you do though, I have to see your labor of love in action. With all that this thread details, I almost feel like it's my bike too
  18. Didn't even make it out of the chair before needing an undie change after reading this one
  19. I'm not as prepared as I'd like to be, but there's no harm in being ready for whatever might happen. It's not so much crazy as it is phobic, imo. There are folks out there that spend hundreds of thousands ( or more ) on underground bunkers, piles of weaponry, rations for years, and months of training/drills.....apparently they either have a lot to live for, or their OCD has NO bounds I don't really see a way to be truly prepared for all catastrophic events since prepper products are no good if they're submerged and swept away in a flood, or burnt to dust from nuclear attack. What I do agree with is if you've got the funds to invest into being more prepared, it's a virtual insurance that would surely increase your chances of survival. So, I agree with the prepper mentality to "some" degree.....but only within my means. I believe preparedness should be used to sustain life at some point, not become one's lifestyle
