We should call you "The Mad Scientist" with all the re-engineering you've done on this powerplant! Ever closer to T-minus HolyShitThisThingsFast! Gonna make Kilkare Saturday or do you plan to hold out for some mild break-in and testing first?
Sweet deal, and good choice. The C14 is definitely my next step towards a new bike. Check into Throttlemeister for a heated grip compliant cruise control. They are pricey, but nice equipment from what I've heard/read/seen
I'll ask Chad today at work and see if he can confirm any of this. I'm excited to see/hear how the new setup looks and performs for everyone. Hopefully these changes will breathe new life back into the old facility.
In all seriousness, you know the TL is no cupcake. That bike is killer, and a damn good ride in its own wright.....buy it up if you can swing it. Ride it, track it, have fun with it if you've got space/coin to keep it. Would help Fiji out AND give you a bigger powerplant to play on. The 14's aren't going anywhere, so if you need to wait another season or 2 it only makes the bigger bore versions ( 1441cc ) THAT much cheaper ( assuming you're buying used )
I believe this thread just breached etiquette and is now deemed NWS You have got to give this cake shop props for all they've done here! Who/where is this?
Hoping for the best possible recovery to your Dad, bro.....if you need anything, you have my number sir. Please tell me he kept it on 2 wheels......would be horrid news if he didnt Ah, just caught that "road bike" meant bicycle......forgot he's an avid bicyclist.......keep us posted man
10w Motul in mine. Believe stock weight was 5w, but it works just fine for street and some moderately hard riding now and then. I've never had any issues. Heard heavy oils can cavitate if you're riding hard enough or seriously working the forks/susp though. I was told to stick with a medium weight for best results ( 5w-15w ). Spring rates will fix heavier rider issues more than any oil can. 1 liter will more than fill both forks @ $17 a bottle http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0022ZFTHA
I've only used bucket/soap/water once each spring on my bike in the 4+yrs I've owned it. I'd rather rinse away any dust/debris from sitting all winter than wipe it off the bike. Then during riding season I use a light bug/tar spray for the stubborn insect guts and grime on the leading edges of the bike, kerosene or WD for buildup on the swingarm/wheels, and a spray detailer/wax to finish all the painted surfaces. Keeps our bikes looking clean all season with little effort after the initial spring cleaning.
Alan is good people, until you share a cabin, a couple bottles of Jager, and a case of beer with him and he ends up breaking the NO PICS OF THE DRUNKEN HOT TUB PASSENGERS rule! He gets crazy determined trying to knock trees down barehanded though Nah, really......he's a cool kat and can wire your house, make you decals, fix your car/bike, build you a fire, etc....etc....etc
For anyone interested, anything this guy owns is meticulously maintained and clean as a virgin meatwhistle. The bike is in great condition and suspension work alone makes it a track worthy specimen for anyone looking into a triple duty sport/tour/track bike. If I had room in my stable, I'd pick it up for sure. GLWS broseph!
Sharp ride speedy. Bandit12's have tons of mods, add-ons, and hop-ups. Believe that's the same model bike Brock Davidson built and ran a 7.97 1/4 mile on too.
