Sexy rebuild. I like the after scheme better, but it looked good before. Other than the scraped Akro, you'd never know it was down
-
Probably right. The foot of his stubby kickstand looks like it could've touched down easily as low as the bike is. Wrong bike to be hitting twisties with for sure.
-
The guy that dumped it in our group had a stretched zx9 with a Shinko drag rear tire. He went wide in a turn on Crooked Tree where a gravel side road fed in and littered the outside line. Strictly Street was tailing him and said just looked like the rear went away and he hit the deck. Bike slid into a guardrail post and smashed the front in. Shortened his wheelbase back to stock length for sure.

Or RainX too

I got a few droplets in behind the visor on my Bell but only at interstate speeds, so it's likely wind pressure pushing the water past the upper visor seal. With how infrequently we wet ride, it's not a deal breaker for me.

Glad you went with the more unique hyper, Doc....too many Busa on the roads anyway.
-
The route was good, the weather is what butt-plowed our day the most. I like the new route, it's fairly simple....I know this because I aced that sumbitch my first outing!
-
No sir, but we had a couple stops along the way with a luggage attachment failure and our downed rider - so it may have appeared like we just enjoy riding in the wet slop so much that we ran the route both ways

I am finally dried out. The only things that weren't soaked were my ass gorge ( I'm a big dude, crack just doesn't say enough ), backs of my knees, and the top of my head. Think we managed 20 dry miles on the way home. Super soaker of a ride back, and it super sucked - but the ride itself was good and dry until we parked at Sunoco just past Beverly for an hour to wait on the rest of our group helping yank Rob's bike from under the guardrail. Glad he's ok, bike is replaceable. Shortly after we left there, it was a wet ride in the twisties for another 55 miles or so. Shadyone, big props to you bro. As usual, you make leading so much easier by being the best wingman a rider could ask for. Appreciate ya man, truly. Treefime, damn good meeting and riding with ya man - you tossed that old ninja around well, even in the wet stuff. Keep your eyes peeled for Dayton route rides coming up this summer. Durk ( Rick ), it was good meeting you too - and you're no outsider, you're an OhioRider, and ya definitely got an iron butt riding that 600RR as much as you do, and solo at that. Glad to have ya, hope to see ya at the next one. Doc, thanks for the commitment in riding all the way down there and back just to meet up with the few of us that made it out. Good to see you enjoy your new guided missle. They're like skintags...it'll grow on ya more and more. Chad, Dubie, Richie - good riding with you fellas, and props to ya for helping Rob out and making sure he got a lift home. Pauly, you're gonna get hookworm if you keep walking around barefooted in random parking lots - good to see you again man. Tonik, eat a hatefully blasphemous dick. And mail me my donut, I never got one Nah, seriously...Good to see your satanic face, and in a church parking lot of all places Good to see the familiars again, and some new guys too. Even though there were a couple of riders down, it was still ultimately a success since they both walked away. Happy everyone made it home safe. See you folks at the next one

Here at Comp, be heading out in 30 minutes

What's with the taped up front end in the rolling pic? You do a trackday in sneakers?

Wakey wakey, eggs n bakey

Work buddy of mine bought a KX250 there, after he blew the piston apart on a short parking lot test ride and they had rebuilt it....they failed to fill the tank with premix. They made it right and fixed the bike before he took it home, but that's some motorcycle preschool level shit. I'd be leary to shop there. They make their bikes look good, but that means nothing if it scatters a week later.
-
The way he jogged off after initial drop....yeah, that shit was intentional
-
They're hard bikes to regret buying if you want a planted powerhouse with some good distance comfort and perfect in-betweener riding position. I've loved every mile accumulated on mine. It does everything I want it to, and for it's girth it isn't really crap at cornering, there's potential there. And an easy 25-30hp can be found with just a full system and tune should you lust more potentcy. Congrats!

Welcome to the club Doc!! That IS a ZX14 SE, matte black and red color scheme. It's definitely 1st generation, 06-11 although there's contention about the 08-11 being deemed a 2nd generation due to 10 port injector upgrades and ECU remapping. They make more power down low by opening the secondary butterflies earlier than the first 2 year's models. Good on ya Doc, and at least the color scheme is close to your VFR.....but what sold you on the hypersports? Power? Comfort? Looks? It surely wasn't fuel mileage

Sounds good. Hopefully there will be a few extras show up that have remained incognito on the threads, otherwise it will only be a short 6 pack of us heading east from Dayton area.
-
Right now it's a virtual go. I just talked with my favorite sweep and he's in if we are, weather hasn't posed to become any worse ( although I hope it improves ) so we should be to Competition by 730am or so, then the Shell minimart by 9am.
-
Pending that this show will go on, I didn't see any designated fuel stops on the route itself. Without reading through the 11 pages of this thread, and not seeing anything posted on the first post, are there any?? Or is this going to be a play-it-by-ear type deal??

needed: someone with a truck and a few extra hours

Damn our long distance relationship.....I'm there for ya in spirit, man -
Wife and I are getting a pair of 20s ordered in. What's the mounting clamp issue with the Star? Helmet shell too portly for the clamp?
-
Weather is looking better compared to yesterday's report, but it's still on the cusp of being potentially shitty. I'm not willing to risk a local ride in crap conditions with the upcoming Gap trip just weeks away. Pending tomorrows forecast for Zanesville area decides whether we ride or not. To be continued...

Welcome. Thanks for your service! Props for the crafty build

Congrats man. Now it's aftermarket mayhem time. Farkle this, farkle that, farkle til your wallets flat. Keep the SV?
