  1. That boxer twin needs to go on a mini bike with bmw badges.
  2. Take the MSF course. You will learn how to ride a lot better than by yourself and at the end you get the equivalent of a passing grade on the skills test, then you just get your endorsement.
  3. I've had plenty of shells through my 88 with zero problems.
  4. Have not tried tito's yet. We usually buy kettel one if we get vodka.
  5. Crown isn't bad, I use it to make Canadian love (crown and Canada dry). For irish I go with red breast single pot 18 yr ($98). For bourbon it's eagle rare or Woodford reserve. Scotch I like glenmorhange 15 yr or higher. But I'll drink whatever you're buying.
  6. Not much to it...typically the decompression rocker slides down the rocker shaft once the motor spins up so that the follower doesn't contact the cam lobe. If you can get the whole valve cover off it will be the only one that slides. Slide it over, turn the motor. If you can't get the valve cover off with the motor in the frame you may be able to get at it via the inspection holes on the exhaust side.
  7. Kiss is, was and always will be horrible. They're the harley Davidson of music...All glitz and merchandising and no real substance where it counts. I'll admit paul Stanley can sing but as musicians the band as a whole is barely passable.
  8. Yeah that would be my first guess. Easy way to tell, hold the De comp off the lobe and see if it stops.
  9. Media bias. Remember when ozzy Osborne fans were doing all the horrible things? Was it ozzys fault? Was it a reflection on his fans as a group? It's media bias using any correlation they can for click bait. I'll bet you anything a garth Brooks fan robbed a convenience store and beat his wife last week.
  10. Good luck man, wish it had been something easier to fix.
  11. Probably gonna hock the bandit for a vfr in the spring...or something else...I have a feeling once I'm done with the cafe honda build it will be more than enough to satisfy my throttle hand....maybe a power cruiser to put the misses on....or maybe I'll go back to just one bike...I haven't even put 3k miles on the bandit yet this season....I haven't rode in over a week...I suck.
  12. Look closely at the shock...If it's a busa it will have infinite preload adjustment, not just 4 or 6 notches. It will also have a reservoir that sits horizontally at the top of the shock and the lug on the left side of the air box will have to have been removed for it to fit. The dog bones will also have been shimmer out with a few washers. Never understood the leaking gas thing...I fill my bike on the side stand. If I don't over fill it, it doesn't drip gas. If it's just full on the side stand, it will be just below full when it's stood up straight and the gas levels off.
  13. Ok ordered the perforated tubing and a 1/2x10x38 sheet of fiberglass. The fmf kit is only 15x10 and doesn't list thickness. I'm doing a 14" baffle that goes from roughly 2 1/4 to 4" diameter (old school megaphone shape) and I want to be sure I have enough. The end cap has about 4" of 1.5" pipe that goes into the can that was part of the original baffle. I shouldn't have a problem cutting it down and getting it to jive with the perforated tubing. My last stumbling block is to make up the space between the tubing and the inside of the muffler, which is about 1/2 inch on either side...thinking of either turning a washer type part on a lathe and welding it on or just going around the end of the tubing with header tape until it's big enough to make a decent seal...not sure exactly what I'll do yet...
  14. If you plan on riding this bandit hard you're gonna want to upgrade the rear shock. A stock gen 1 busa shock bolts right in with a tiny modification of the airbox, but raises the rear end about an inch and makes the center stand useless....so upgrade the shock and ditch the stand.
  15. Gonna be tricky...The can is tapered. I'll hack it. Is there a huge advantage of using fmf fiberglass vs pink fiberglass insulation?
  16. If there is hardwood under the carpet you should consider sanding and sealing it if needed. Cheaper than carpet and easy to DIY.
  17. Looking to convert my pretty much open MAC pipe to a glass pack. Wondering if anyone has experience in this. I've already found perforated pipe on ebay and am more curious about what fiberglass and how much to pack it with. My current setup is just a welded end plate that used to be part of the baffle that caps the can from like a 4 inch megaphone to an inch and a half outlet.
  18. Your uneven pipe angles are irritating my ocd. I can't sleep until they're even. Please fix.
  19. It insulates the pipes, keeping more-ish heat inside and less-ish heat outside. Adds less hp than stickers but more than fake carbon fiber.
  20. Yosh pipe sounds good, even with the db killer installed. I have an rs3 on my 1200 bandit...it's reasonable at idle and low throttle but without db killer it barks pretty loudly when you twist the happy-maker.
  21. It supposedly causes more heat to evacuate with the exhaust gasses but idk. I think it's great for hiding ugly rusted or dented exhaust.
