Seriously Ernie, the guys you're talking a rash of shit to are experienced riders with lots of track time under their belt. I thought I was good on 2 wheels until I started riding with ORDN, so saying you're going to ride circles around them, nobody is buying that shit. Went with the conti motions. Scoured every gear and tire site I could find and couldn't find a better deal that $165 shipped for a set on eBay. Had to pick them out separately but that's still $20 less than the closest competitor.

After some research it seems that the name squid comes from the socal racing scene. It was borrowed from the surfing scene to describe an inexperienced surfer, they called them 'squirrely kids', later shortened to squid. I forget where I read the surely quick until I die, it was in one motorcycle book or another.

I managed to get the motor mostly built for the cb project, got all the parts for the tl, and built a nice workshop in the basement. TL still needs paint, the basement bar project isn't even on paper yet and I got another bike over the winter that after tires and fluids will be ridable till I finish the other two.

No razor can handle my epic 'till riding season' beard. When the time comes I will have to go to a machine shop and get it trimmed on the band saw, then have them mill the rest down.

As far as I know the work boots are all USA made. The motorcycle boots however are Chinese.

Yeah, I love the motor but miss the flickability of my fizzer, for an old bike with outdated suspenders and a relatively high curb weight that bike handled very nicely.

I have since taken your advice and got a pair of real armored riding pants. Will still rock my Kevlar jeans too, but with the knee armor installed. New Joe rocket atomic 4 jacket comes tomorrow via FedEx to replace the one I was wearing when I ditched my bike last October. Also got all the parts to put the tls back together and get right back on those twisties, tho I kinda would like to trade it and the shadow for a concourse, vfr, fjr or rf.
