  1. I'm getting pretty happy with my 600 now that I have it tuned up. After my first surprise power wheelie I kinda am re thinking the whole liter bike thing....maybe a 750 next season.
  2. Awesome video. If you ever make that documentary film let me know, I'd love to participate.
  3. Have you seen the torture test where they drop a ft Knox safe thru the roof of a house...twice, burn the house down around the safe, did it out and shoot at it for half an hour? Fucking epic.
  4. I may do that. Just replaced to rear sprocket and chain, the front sprocket the shop gave me was too thin, it could still move on the counter shaft with the nut all the way down.
  5. Ok. Power wheelied by accident in first gear. The 5 caps of sea foam per tank must be working....still gonna put in a factory pro jet kit.
  6. I had craigslist pull my add because it had a phone number in it. They also blocked my account. Gonna try to sell my seca on here once I have my 30 day chip.
  7. Yeah, I get it, speed is nothing if you don't know how to take a line through a turn. Although I'm a newbie to this site I am no rookie on the street.
  8. Eh, I've thought about it but I have precious little time as it is without going to track school, my ole lady would strangle me if I picked up yet another activity that didn't involve her.
  9. Yeah, a red brick will do 90 too...down a mine shaft, wouldn't wanna ride one tho.
  10. I'm not looking to do 160 or anything, I just want to get to 90 or so a lot faster. I live for acceleration, not top speed. I want a bike that feels like its going to shoot out from under me when I pour the coal to her. I'm not a wheelie nut either, just love twisties and going from standstill to blurred vision as fast as possible. I'll try out A few newer 600's next spring, see if that's what I want.
  11. I got a call the other night from my neighbor. He happened to be walking past a window and looked out to see two teenagers rummaging through the toolbox in my truck bed. By the time he got his shoes on they were out of sight so he got in his car and CHASED THEM DOWN. caught up with them a few blocks away, demanded they empty their pockets, saw they had taken nothing and told them to stay the Hell out of our neighborhood. Then he came back and called me to tell me what happened. My woman and I were right inside watching a movie and the dog was with us and never barked. It's good to have neighbors that look out for ya.
  12. Well I feel sorry for ya man. Buells are expensive and it sounds like yours is a little anemic for your size, but to each his own. My point is I want some acceleration that I can really feel. I want something scary. I also want it to be controllable tho. No point in having all that power if you can't put it to use.
  13. That's no vent tube, that's a vacuum petcock. Make sure its working and that you're getting the bowl all the way full. Also, find a diagram of the carb and make sure you have everything put back together right. If you're not sure about fuel lines, you may have missed something else.
  14. Well I'm a big guy and my woman isn't skinny. The two of us on that 600 just kills it, the suspension isn't needy enough. I need to finish my 73 cb750 build, that bike had enough suspension and power before I decided to put another 20 HP into the motor. I know the newer 600's are much faster, I just don't know if I could afford one next spring. I don't finance large purchases, I pay cash. Idk, maybe ill keep the gixxer, maybe ill sell everything I have and get one of those big-bore sport touring bikes...Suzuki makes a nice one, the svt1300 I think? 164 HP and comfy...
  15. It sounds odd but mix 50/50 pine-sol and water in a container big enough to submerge entire carb, remove everything you can from the carb, put it all in the pine-sol and put one of those fish tank aireators in it. Leave it for a day. If you have access to an ultra-sonic cleaner they work even better, but pine-sol does miracles on crusty carbs.
  16. 2fast, do you know what "the local constabulary" is? I'm thinking you may have missed my point.
  17. I just wear one of those huge steel boots the flat trackers use at all times. I do like the idea of putting a few magnets in your shoe so you can just step on the wire.
  18. Yeah dude, you're gonna have to find some cam2 ($8-10/gal) or detune the Hell out of the motor to keep from grenading the motor. Detonation will be a huge worry, not sure if that bike has a knock sensor, but if it does it will retard the spark until it stops pinging. Be great for a track or strip bike but seems impractical for a street ride.
  19. A liter bike would give me more opportunities to have brief yet meaningful conversations with the local constabulary....
  20. I've been pulled over 4 or 5 times for speeding in the last year and got let off with a warning every time. Amazing what pulling right over, being polite and respectful and having a ccw license and telling the cop as soon as he comes up regardles s of whether you're carrying or not can do for a cops attitude. I had a county sheriff let me go for 56 in a 45 three nights ago and those guys hardly ever give warnings.
  21. Well this bike is fast enough for Joe I hues, and it looks pretty good. Still probably gonna save my pennies and sell it and my seca next spring to get into a cbr1000rr or superhawk.
  22. If I didn't work all weekend, wish I could go. I'm on a rolling 6 day week, a scheduling oddity that occurs when the company needs continuous 365 day a year operation in a department and the union has a no forced overtime clause in the contract.
  23. I'm not really looking to wheelie, just using that as an example. I'm also no magazine jockey, I tip the scales at 220. I think ill always need more power but my next purchase will be a Honda superhawk. Assloads of power and torque in a comfortable, slick looking bike? Don't mind if I do.
