  1. well, I called and talked to Jennings earlier in the week and the 7th is taken....turns out it was reserved before I first contacted. There are some other days available in March, but none coincide with a track day weekend. There are also some days available in Feb, but I left the list at work. IDK, I'm tempted to just plan for the 8th,9th and 10th of March.

    NEO ride 11/16?

    Anyone? Partly cloudy 50-58*F
  6. They probably edited that out because he was trying to break the bead while the tire was still inflated. I would hope he isn't that bad normally and it was just the camera spotlight that caused the issues.
  7. Jester, I always plan on missing a session if I'm doing a tire change around lunch during a track day. If they get mounted and balanced quick, then sometimes you can make it back in time. Once you get accustom to your bike and know the required tools by heart it takes very little time for the actual change out......unless you are working on Jinu's evil 675 rear wheel that never fits properly. I try to change/flip mine at home to save money for tracktime, but sometimes it makes more sense to do it at the track...especially if you are doing more than one day in a row.
  8. That was a case of working harder instead of smarter. Always lubricate; always ensure the opposite side of the bead is in the recessed portion of the rim....aka 1/2 way down the rim.
  9. My perceived impact on premiums? Artificially inflated premiums that do not accurately reflect the risk associated with a vehicle/driver/area. Zip code doesn't matter if it is socially acceptable practice, everyone's premiums become inflated. The insurance company doesn't care, they will recoup the claim by increasing the other parties rates in addition to averaging in the inflated cost of your claim when calculating other riders premiums. C: I don't agree with it and I'm simply stating my opinion.
  10. That's not an equal comparison. Sam, I've given close friends shit for the same thing in the past. Yeah, you make a few bucks, but in the long run you end up paying it right back because everybody thinks they are smart and plays the same game. The fucked up thing is, the people who get screwed over are the ones who don't inflate their claim and the people lucky enough to not be involved in an accident.
  11. Yeah, because I said you should pay the bills out of your pocket.....you kidding me? Get your shit fixed 100%, get your medical bills payed....but asking on a public forum where you can get quotes for parts to maximize your claim in an attempt to put money in your pocket is fucking ridiculous. Sorry, that isn't why insurance exists and that is what you are using it for.
  12. And by "them" you are really addressing every person who owns a vehicle and pays insurance....including yourself.
  13. Lately I've been using a sliding C clamp and a piece of 2x4 to break the bead, motion pro rim savers, a couple flat pry bars, a spray bottle with diluted dish soap, and a harbor freight wheel balancer with a replaced shaft. Alternate to the C-clamp....I've also used a couple pieces of 2x4 and the hitch on my car to break the bead. It was more screwing around since my car is light and it would lift the suspension till I got the positioning just right. I have the HF tire changer at my mom's place in PA, but I never brought it to Ohio because it is useless other than a bead breaker. I see they JUST brought back the harbor freight motorcycle tire changer attachment; I'm tempted to pick it up to try out. $30 with a 25% off coupon. I actually have a set of spoons in PA as well, but I like using the flat pry bars more than the spoons. If you buy the HF balancer, replace balancing shaft IMMEDIATELY. Every single one of these things seem to come with a bent shaft.

    NEO Ride 11/9?

would be interested, but I'll be driving too and from TN for a wedding this weekend
  15. full yosh system.....hopefully it isn't a pile of crap, only time will tell
  16. "new to me" stator cover and exhaust incoming. The stator cover that is on the bike is fine, but it is a chinese POS that weighs waaayy more than stock.
  17. Hey guys, lets plan for the 7th then. One issue that needs addressed is payments, paypal is the easy solution and it allows the use of credit cards....but it would be nice to avoid the 3% to keep the price down. There is the option for gifts with bank account or paypal balance, but I'm not in love with that idea. I'll be calling tomorrow to verify to verify the 7th is still open. Post up then with details. Well, I'm going back to bed; hopefully no one else catches this bullshit cold I have....hit me like a ton of bricks today, and I was fine yesterday.
  18. yeah, constantly....covering the temp readout and hiding when you may actually have a code thrown.
  19. Doesn't look like the RL is offered for my model year. I guess the unit isn't compatible with the ECU and starts throwing codes because of the "miss" that is created when the quickshifter cuts the ignition. I emailed Dano's and got a quick response from Dan saying he has one in his 04 750 and it has never gave him error codes.
  20. Out of curiosity, when it went bad did it just fail to cut the ignition for shifts or did it fail completely and stop the bike from running?
  21. March 3rd or 7th, anyone who is really interested with a known conflict for either of those days please speak up. Two "Southern Track Days" lead into the 3rd and the 7th is followed by a full JGP trackday weekend including Monday.
  22. Main thing that worries me about a quick shifter, I sometimes rest my foot on the shifter a little early and use the throttle blip to actually shift....that will definitely have to change with a quickshifter. Winter blues are setting in, especially now that I can't get my hand dirty working on the bike for a week or two....tiding myself over with a little NYST video:
  23. Hoping to gain any "budget" competitive advantage(or equalizer) I can
  24. Thank mgossel! I'm leaning toward the Annitori right now, even with the $30 higher price point. I have yet to read a negative review of their quickshifter or any of the HM quickshifters. I am a little worried that a quickshifter will screw up how I've grown accustom to shifting, but it will be another learning curve like GP shifting.
