  1. lol I was literally going 5 minutes down a straight road to a family reunion....I detoured on route to hit the section of road so there was something interesting to record. I ride a gixxer, what do you expect?
  2. Sure that wasn't a local clearance price or a different generator? I would imagine that deal would be posted on slickdeals and I didn't see anything near the $230 mark when researching pricing; think the closest was $250 without the wheels. Either way, that is a hell of a deal.
  3. Mine came in today too. Little heavier than I expected, but it will do the job. May do the wheel kit thing as well, or figure out a way to rig it up.

    fearful?

Sounds like you would have a great time at a trackday
  5. Just an FYI, this issue was fixed in a firmware update in September of 2010
  6. So this blog post; written in 2013, is about a software bug and customer complaint in 2010? "Eventually I felt helpless. I decided to shoot GoPro an email (on 7/21/10):"
  7. 42:12 I had to cringe when I noticed his foot. Wear some damn boots. followed immediately by more rider stupidity
  8. tank bags can make highway slightly more bearable, but it still sucks Cleveland is horrible for riding, it is a good hour to any decent roads, and then an hour back at the end of the day. Usually the hour out is not bad and goes quickly, the hour back is killer.
  9. What is your definition for long haul? In the OP you say 1-2 hrs which is nothing. I've done an 8 hr ride 2up in addition to a couple back to back 10hr days on my 600s. That isn't to say buy a gsxr if you are constantly planning 8 hour rides, but don't rule it out if you are only planning 2-3hr rides.
  10. little late, but they also have the champion 1700W/2000W inverter model for $469, I think that is the lowest I've seen a new on of those go for. Shipping is only $11 too.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KO9PX7hYj0 In the above video the camera is mounted to the swingarm with a sticky mount and then extended with the long arm. A short arm is ued to 90* and turn the camera in the right direction. Works good for the street, but I think it would rub on the track. I also "safety wire" the camera with a few zip ties so if they mount would fail, it would fall against the swing arm and wouldn't be able to go into the wheel or get left on the street.
  12. Stock is 16/45 for the 04/05 600s. I'm not really particular about it, just need to throw something on to ride and learn more. That is pretty neat! The layout of the page makes it a little confusing at first when you are trying to figure out how it works.
  13. deal ends tomorrow, forgot to mention if you want to plug in I don't have a problem, just toss me a few bucks for gas or top up the tank
  14. Thanks, but I'll be switching over to 520 since the track bike sprockets look like crap and I already have a good chain off my 01. I have to dig around and find the front sprocket then contact Nathan for a 46t rear.
  15. Blain's Farm and Fleet has the generator on sale, unfortunately there are none local to Ohio, but it is only $30 to ship so it is still a decent deal. http://www.farmandfleet.com/products/752096-champion-power-equipment-3500w-4000w-portable-generator.html#.UU5IjxyG1Uo through 3/24/2013
  16. Completely unrelated to the topic, but I'm so happy I have to share. Around Christmas I was asking about 50's, because I went to visit my nephews and wanted to get them something. Well my brother in law didn't like the idea of getting a beat up 50 for ~$500 and would rather buy something mint the boys can trash; so I've been keeping an eye out. Then there is the whole issue of two brothers sharing 1 bike. I've believe I've found a solution: Looks like the garage is going to be pretty tight to work in for a little while. I'm so tempted to take the 70 out for a spin
  17. Need a little help figuring out some gearing for the track bike. Right now both my bikes are setup with stock gearing with a 525 chain. The stuff on the track bike is toast. I have a 520 setup off my 01 that is -1+5. I could put it on and keep it as is, or get a new rear sprocket with less teeth. I'm thinking -1+5 is going to be too large of a change and it will probably top out too early(ignoring chain angle and effects on suspension for now). I'll be taking the bike to Nelson, PIRC, Mid-O, hopefully Grattan and maybe even Putnam. I realize 1 ratio isn't going to be perfect isn't going to be perfect for all those tracks, but I'd like to find something that won't have me clicking into 6th just to roll off a split second later.
  18. You need to come to Nelson on May 4th. Ride novice the first session if you are concerned and then come out with the intermediate group after. I'l lead you around if you want, but I'd pick a better rider if I were you
  19. sounds like a bunch of drama....support what you love with what you can.
  20. I don't think anyone ever gets over the fear of road debris. You just learn the correct reactions to debris(riding with others helps), what the bike can do, and avoid fixating on things you don't want to hit(easier said than done).
  21. I'll put $10k toward the thing. I'd also like to volunteer to maintain the place. I'll have to move there unfortunately, but all I expect in return is fair compensation and unlimited track time. Thanks guys, I really hope we can get this group buy going!
  22. I'm not a complete track snob.....yet. We will see who is laughing when you start planning your second track day before the first is even over.
