  1. shhhhh, no talk of weather that cold, I dont want to change over to antifreeze untill after the 14ths.
  2. Sorry to hear; hoping for a speedy recovery!
  3. I'm trying to come up with a plan of attack for the suspension...absolute minimum will be springs and fluid refresh up front. Not too sure about the rear. The spring rate seems fine, but reading about swing arm angle and antisquat....makes me want ride height adjustment.
  4. Shit a 1:10 in the wet? The best I could pull off in the dry was a few 1:11's. I was amazed by how solid the bike felt in the wet & cold at PIRC, only the occasional puddle loosened things up. Was a bit scary at first; not knowing what to expect, but the second and third sessions were fun.
  5. Back in college I had my cheap 5.1 in my bedroom....it sounded better in that small room than it has in any of my more recent living rooms.
  6. that's not audiophile, that's monstercableism
  7. soundbar wont be as wide as what is required by a true surround sound setup. Unless you are only planning on using it as a very expensive center channel, in which case it may work or interfere with the left and rights. You are getting a soundbar and a powered sub and you cant blast in your apartment? How do you figure that will be much different "blasting" wise than a real surround sound? My plan was to start with a cheap htib, upgrade incrementally starting with a receiver, and when done, use the htib speakers as a second zone. After awhile, I realized I didn't care that much to spend $1k+ on a budget "quality" home theater and my cheap htib was enough to satisfy my requirements.
  8. watching now....holy crap, sun murdered your camera going down the front straight Recognized the bike and camera mount position from the last few seconds of my clip. I was hoping didn't just catch me for the carousel and blow past me on the front straight, but the last few seconds is exactly that. Showed how badly I was still taking that section of the track. You were moving around there really well...hopefully I'll eventually become that comfortable passing people. Thanks for posting it up!

    X2

damn, you must have really liked the other one to snag this up so quick
  10. want to, but so far to travel. Might just do Nelson on Monday or Friday the 12th for the evening.
  11. I had already ripped it off and put it back on for the photo, thats why the alignment is off and ashesive is showing. I've actually been really impressed by the AFX helmet...the fit is good, but the cheek pads have loosened up a bit. The wind noise is MUCH less than my previous helmets. Cooling/vents are effective, but the chin vent never will close(broken detent). Only complaint are: no "vent" detent for the visor and it buffets in the wind a lot. Hard to complain about a $75 helmet. Any problems with leaving it off? Or I could cut the spoiler portion and put it back on....just thought it would look like shit if I did that.
  12. nah, sitting on the kitchen table now It was annoying as hell, I'd have to force my head back which would cause the helmet to rotate till the upper brow started to approch my line of sight. Actually my avatar is coming through the carousel last weekend...this is where I was noticing it the most. Not so much last week, because my line sucked through there, but this weekend I was carrying a lot more speed and not squaring it off. I wasn't even leaned over as far as I'd like, which would require even more movement.
  13. I'd need to score a set of warmers and genny if these were on the bike; at least the fronts require it, right? what kind of life do you get out of these? Sorry for the questions, but I only have 8 sessions on my q2's and they are about half way to the wear bars, which has me thinking about tires for next year. Guess I could also flip the q2 to get more life out of the rear. I'll probably take set 1 or 2.
  14. yeah, it looks exactly like a spoiler. hopefully removing it will fix my issue.
  15. there is a vent there, but this is a rubber piece rear of the vent. Might help that vent function better.
  16. I noticed a black mark on my street jacket and I was having trouble looking up through the turn on the carousel at PIRC. Took a look at my helmet and noticed this lip, which I'm pretty sure is causing the issue. I was looking at other helmets and some have it, some dont. Any idea what it is for? Maybe wind noise? Here is a crappy picture. It jets out about 1/2" at the very rear base of the helmet. And with it removed:
  17. Nice work! Crazy you still pulled that off with your eyesight messed up.
  18. haven't read the whole thread, is there a route planned for the Cleveland area? If not I was screwing around trying to figure out a route that wont slab much: https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Puritas+Ave&daddr=40.31457,-82.01525+to:32-78+N+Cedar+St,+Newark,+OH+43055+to:OH-668+S%2FBrownsville+Rd+to:OH-668+S+to:OH-78+E%2FOH-78+Scenic+E+to:OH-669+W+to:OH-669+W+to:S+Columbus+St+to:39.953505,-82.2591281+to:40.0942089,-82.247885+to:40.20784,-82.22174+to:40.28098,-82.0411+to:Puritas+Ave&hl=en&ll=40.436495,-82.449646&spn=1.339977,3.120117&sll=40.096195,-82.242794&sspn=0.084173,0.195007&geocode=FUY6eAIdDNQf-w%3BFcomZwId7osc-yk3MewqHp03iDFlmGqu3YdbfQ%3BFYVIYwIdq-IW-ykF_9b-qiI4iDGhDV_pdjCa3Q%3BFYYVYQIdxeoY-w%3BFX4jXAIdtpsX-w%3BFcAYXAIdOhcd-w%3BFYlaXQId85Ye-w%3BFaVuXgIdLn4b-w%3BFapTXwIdvEkY-w%3BFWGkYQIdSNMY-yn5WD4ryx04iDHG3MmaaylOOw%3BFQDKYwIdM_8Y-yn7O037-SA4iDEpA7wISxgKPQ%3BFeCFZQIdVGUZ-ynZ7Of3_Cc4iDFBELbeQD-Z9Q%3BFZSjZgId9CYc-ykRORBFrIQ3iDHQ8fnpVFzzVg%3BFUY6eAIdDNQf-w&t=h&mra=dpe&mrsp=10&sz=13&via=1,9,10,11,12&z=9
  19. No reason to apologize, I was closing the gap and I doubt you even knew I was back there. It really came down to a lack of focus and experience on my part. If I would have looked to the inside I would have hit my apex instead of running it wide and putting myself into a corner between your rear tire and the edge. It actually seemed to have some decent traction, but I didn't feel like testing it. Brushed the edge of a couple of the inside painted curbs and they felt slick, but thats when you need the most traction. I just like getting back to more natural areas; earlier in the day I filmed some excellent footage of the clouds. I wouldn't say no to some rains though; promise I'll youtube any off-track excursions I take.
  20. when she says "I never do that" she means stopping at stop signs and paying attention to other vehicles.
  21. I didnt think of it at the time, but we should have thrown one of those front stands undre your bike that go under the forks(not triple tree stand). It would have taken the front wheel/bearings out of play so we could tell if it was the bearings or the forks making the noise.
  22. do want bike... they look like so much fun
  23. yep plink all day and spend $20
