  1. I'll be trying to make the twilight, kind of curious when they normally shut it down this time of year? I'll be attending Nelson Monday, hopefully there is a decent turnout(never been to a weekday event before).
  2. Its either nelson or Putnam this weekend/Monday.....can't make up my mind.
  3. Probably not what you are looking for, but I have an 03 yz 250 in great shape.
  4. $100 if you are a Moto Series licensed racer for both Putnam this weekend and on monday at Nelson. The late fee was also waved for Putnam....but not Nelson I guess http://motoseries.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1573 http://motoseries.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1570
  5. I was considering 12th, 13th and maybe checking out the races on the 14th.....but the weather is looking so good on monday it is really tempting me.
  6. holy shit....$200 timer is off by .1 second per lap? I'll be very disappointed if it is that bad. The transmitter should just be sending a constant IR signal and when you pass into the "beam" the receiver registers the time. So having more than one receiver operating off a single transmitter shouldn't have any effect other than bikes blocking line of sight to the transmitter. The one thing I could see making a difference is crossing the "line" of the transmitter and different locations on the track(inside outside) because the XT will not be a straight line like the AMB loop. From the very little time I've been attending trackdays, everyone seems extremely friendly. It is no different than when I raced RC cars, if you need help people are more than willing the lend a hand wherever possible. Get a bunch of people together who are enjoying the same hobby and have the same passion and it is hard not to have a great time.
  7. ^damn should have just sent it to Nivin and had him edit it They make a converter so you can edit in windows movie maker, but I never got it to work...snagged a copy of adobe software and never looked back.
  8. Anyone planning on going to Nelson on October 1st, 13th or the twilight on the 12th? I would love to go to Putnam or Grattan, but its just too damn far to travel right now.
  9. I use a 4" duct booster fan to dry stuff out.
  10. Thought everyone went off one transmitter with the xt timers? Was going to borrow one, but didn't care enough to screw around with it mid day.
  11. No hard feelings, I'm in agreement with you. If you want to know times lap, timers are best choice. When comparing times to other riders or are interested in continuously improving lap to lap and session to session there is no other choice. With that being said, I think the gopro/camera is a better learning tool for beginners. It allows you to review lines, body position, specific incidents, and other riders good/bad habits. The video will help develop and enforce good habits, where knowing only times may push you to improve while becoming accustom to bad habits.
  12. How is going frame by frame from a raw GoPro video and using a disappearing stationary refrence not accurate? It should be good +/-1/30th of a second. Now trying to pause a YouTube video to figure out lap times is far from accurate, but would be better than a stop watch on the bike. Yeah, frame by frame analysis will not be as accurate as a lap timer, but there should be no issue using it to judge times to the second.
  13. Be prepared, it is addicting like crack. I want to go again this weekend, but it is too far of a drive to Putnam for only one day; maybe next year. Nelson on Monday is tempting.
  14. Hope it is not someone else on the dream ride!
  15. and the guy wasn't patting you on the back with his hand

there were a couple on Cleveland and Akron craigslist for 700 a few days ago when the first thread popped up.
  17. the ride? the freezing blue hands? or punching someone in the junk?
  18. So this is you training for the track day? Way to hit those apexes when going from the driveway to the sidewalk! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnDWUj8qT7E
  19. now you've got me looking through my videos to see where you passed me...
  20. I'm just wondering what the person stuck on your back.
  21. Had to take it semi-easy for a lap....didn't want you to get worried about the newb catching up to you Plus, I had to take some time to make sure there was nothing squishing around in my suit.
  22. Lol....not making shit up...video I posted was 1:11, 1:11 1:12 if I remember right. Literally went frame by frame in my editing software and used the frame that the finish line disappeared as my reference....figured it out to the tenth. Traffic killed me because I am big pussy when it come to passing. Most of those laps were 15-18 or worse. I'd try to get a run on the straight, but I'd still bitch out when I saw someone creeping across track toward my planned line. Except with Jeff, who I passed on the outside of T7 and T10 into 11. There was another guy in a bright white suit(think it was cortech)....maybe you are thinking of me and him as one?
  23. completely irrelevant to the thread, but I just scored a XT Ultralap timer! No more watching gopro video frame by frame and building excel tables just figure out lap times! (watch, no one will bring transmitters to the next track day)
  24. pretty damn cool idea, but the drag and drop file transfer doesn't work in chrome.....which pretty much defeats the purpose for me. Didn't really dive into it, but IMO it seems easier to use my phone or plug in the USB cable to accomplish whatever I want.
