  1. City BBQ is good but I have one literally a mile or so down the street from me.
  2. I think I'll finally have time to get out this Saturday and may make a run up to IP and meet up with peeps for lunch somewhere around Columbus...preferably somewhere from Westerville down around the east side to south side since I'll be stopping at the Pony. Anyone up for lunch and/or have recommendations?
  3. Get white or a hi-viz color...the helmet is the highest object on you and the bike and what people will see over the top of other vehicles so make it conspicuous. Helmets with graphics look cool and all but don't typically lend themselves to maximizing your visibility to others.
  4. All the more reason. Old fart probably shouldn't even be behind the wheel.
  5. I would've stopped and lost my shit all over that fuck. I don't care how fast/slow you were going, to creep across the road like that just beyond a blind corner is a douchebag move.
  6. that's because it's the first Asian made BMW
  7. I got one of those in Feb...surprising how many parts it's comprised of.
  8. Looking good man! I ran my own personal 5K today...farthest I've run in a long time. Never been a big running fan but it gets results for me. Starting to drop more weight and getting pretty damn strong from hitting the weights a lot...got 330 up on the bench yesterday though that much weight is tough on my old shoulders.
  9. It's either going to lead to another epic "can I borrow your bike while I'm visiting" thread or the spamming will commence shortly. Seems to be the spamming MO lately, post innocently and seemingly on topic and then the PM's start...hope I'm wrong.
  10. Those go on your ass...a little big to shove in your ears
  11. Eat the right thing at the gas station and you'll lose a lot of weight through unpleasant means...
  12. I've pretty much held steady but have been lifting like a beast and know I've put on muscle. People keep telling me I'm looking thinner though the scale says no, so I must be offsetting fat with muscle. Yay for me. I've started cycling again too which is a nice change of pace from walking/running. I plan on riding ~ 50 miles Saturday morning. I'm going to have surgery on my Achilles in Sept so I'm trying to get in the best shape possible before then - especially my legs, My calves are really growing which is a shame because the one will certainly experience a fair amount of atrophy given I'll be non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. The down side is, all of this time spent at the gym or outdoors exercising is really cutting into my riding time. I still only have about ~1700mi on the new beemer.
  13. Holy shit...what'd you do, tell your doctor you have a huge fear of the dentist. You're a rabid anti-dentite!!! I'm that way with my eyes. When I had my LASIK done, they gave me 2 valium and it didn't do shit for me. I don't know how I made it through that. I can't even put drops in my eyes.
  14. Hearos ear plugs on sale at Amazon today via their lightning deal so it won't last long. These work great for riding.. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JXYH042
  15. I used the sparkplugz too when I got them free from the production area at work but they aren't available there anymore so I switched to hearos...on sale at Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JXYH042
  16. I'm flying home today...might try to make it up there tomorrow
  17. Nice...that one of my wife's favorite roads.
  18. Ouch, fractured pelvis is pretty serious depending on where it is. My wife broke her pelvis in a bike accident, it was a long recovery which included an extended stay at a rehab facility, time in a wheelchair, and a metal plate to hold things together. The pelvic specialist that treated her said a broken pelvis is often fatal because the edge of the broken bones can cut the major arteries running through there and the victim dies from internal bleeding. After I heard that I felt like an ass being on the phone with the insurance company while she was laying on the pavement with the EMT's rather than being right there with her.
  19. I like it...surprised it doesn't offer ESA. I wonder how loud it is as well...IMO for long touring, quieter is better.
  20. This thread went from highly suspicious, to feel good, to epic and then brutal
  21. 'ass' and 'cummins' should never share a thread title. Nice truck
  22. If it's got a pretty large battery capacity and you'll be off the grid for a good length of time where charging for several days is not an issue then it would be a good tool. I'd rather have it as a emergency backup than not have it. For $20, it's pretty much a no-brainer. You can barely buy a standalone battery backup for that much, much less a solar powered one.
