I'm definitely going to try to make more OR rides this year. For the test ride...otherwise it's going on the trailer. Before SOMEONE gives me shit for trailering, I'm headed up there alone so I don't have much choice. Plus it's going to be cold AF. Bummer, that would've been cool. When I saw the forecast yesterday I decided I really didn't want to have to test ride it, load it in the trailer and drive 6 hours in the snow. My plan is to make it to the gap in the fall again but this early, no definite plans. I have to see how my work schedule shakes out.

Headed up to Wooster to pick up the new bike. I chose to take tomorrow off to do it because Sat may see snow (at least that's what the forecast said the other day, now not so much). This is the luggage I ordered too.

I haven't gained/lost since vacation and right now I'm just trying to maintain. When the weather finally breaks for good, I'll be back to walking again, etc and will start to focus on losing some more weight. I just feel like I need to let my body acclimate a bit here first. Losing over 100lbs is a big change.

Will do. Some owners say it's no issue and some think it's terrible which means it's a mix of variations per bike and owner sensitivity. They addressed it with the '17 model though some still say the '17 has a few vibes. I'm having the dealer retrofit the '17 dampers onto the '16 I'm getting (this is something BMW is covering for pre -'17 owners that ask for it) and we'll see how it feels. I always put the grip buddies on which helps anyway and I'm not that sensitive to vibes so I don't see it being an issue for me. When slabbing it, there's cruise control so you can always rest either hand (or both!). Plus, as you said, heavier bar ends tend to cure it for a lot of people. This is really the only major complaint I've read about the bike from owners and "professional" reviewers. Reliability seems to be excellent.

They are all pretty much the same...wherever is cheaper. I think they have them in the Thumpertalk store, XR's only, and maybe Rocky Mtn ATV

Oh shit...don't ask Let's just say it'll be at least a week before I get the bike and I've ordered $2000 worth of stuff. To be fair, almost $700 of that was for a new Neotec helmet because mine is over 5 years old and it's showing it's age. It's coincidental that I'm getting it at the same time...I had already planned on doing so. Another $1100 was for luggage (Shad top and side cases) and then I got a few odds and ends. After I get it, I'll have to evaluate the seat and windscreen. Anything else would be for aesthetics as it doesn't need anything. At some point I may pick up an Akrapovic exhaust but fuck they are $1200 for the can alone.

SOLD...On to the next adventure

Same tires I put on my Tenere...which will probably be headed to Illinois tomorrow with its new owner. I put the deposit down on the beemer today.

Thanks...been back and forth with Steve. Seems to be responsive and straight forward. He's getting me some info on some accessories and I'll probably be putting a deposit down today or tomorrow and getting it Mar 11 if all goes well. I sent an inquiry to another dealer in IL 2 days ago and they never even responded. Their loss.
