  1. I totally agree with this...you get some fucking rep sir. I had this in my mind as well. Those with more meager on-bike storage may find this a little tougher. Maybe we can get a SAG wagon volunteer
  2. Didn't mean to step on your toes my brother. Is there a fall WV thread...I may have missed it? Maybe when I was banned I am up for whatever the group wants to do. I've never done a WV trip. I finally had gotten the remainder of my vacation days scheduled and realized that I had a few to play with. Since I hadn't done a road trip this year and we had such a good trip last fall, I thought I would throw it out there. Especially since the wife has us going to Indonesia for 3 weeks next year which will wipe out the majority of my vacation time and make it really tough for me to do a trip next year.

    Esurance

I'd call them...maybe they are going out of business or something. The last thing you'd want to do at that point is send them $.

Possibly they decided to no longer cover bikes they may consider to be high risk? Screw 'em. I've used Progressive for a lot of years, and have had no complaints. Years ago, my wife had a very serious motorcycle accident and they were a pleasure to deal with and gave us no trouble at all. They even went above and beyond in some instances. IMO, that's worth any cost difference they may be above other companies (though I think their rates are extremely competitive).
  5. Booooo To throw some dates out there - maybe Oct 15-18? I might be able to take a half day off on the 14th to get there earlier.
  6. Looks like I'll have a few days vacation unaccounted for to make a long weekend road trip. Last year in mid-October, @Tonik, @2talltim, @Danimal @Casper and some others did a fall ride down to the gap which ended up to be really nice. Aside from a little rain, the leaves were changing and the temperatures were near perfect. I could be up for a similar trip to the gap or elsewhere this year if there's interest. I'm out of the country 9/22 - 10/7 but otherwise my schedule is open though I'd have to check specific days with any co-worker vacation conflicts or pressing work events. **EDIT** Official Thread Here:
  7. They need to start making examples of those bastards...they get off too easy getting taken out like that.
  8. I just got back from the gym so first I'm hearing of it...was it terrorism or did some truck driver have a medical episode or something? *EDIT* quick check of the news says terrorism...let's turn all those asshat middle-eastern countries to glass and be done with it.
  9. Anyone relatively local to Cincinnati need HVAC air filters? Long story short, a little miscommunication between the wife and I and we ordered the wrong sizes for our 2 furnaces. They recently resized the duct where the filter goes on one furnace which was part of the problem. I opened the one box and that's when I realized the error but the other box has not even been opened and of course they are unused. One box is 16x16x1 and the other is 20x20x1 - they come in a box of 12 so selling each size by the dozen. 16x16x1 - asking $50 (~$4.15 ea) - I paid $78 20x20x1 - asking $45 (3.75 ea) - I paid $65 I could return them but by the time I pay a restocking fee and the shipping, I might as well give someone a good deal locally. These are quality filters as recommended by our HVAC service people. PM me if interested. This is the product page. They aren't cheapie filters but not high-end either but unless you have bad allergies etc, these are more than adequate and are nicely made. http://www.thefilterstore.com/cgi-bin/quikstore.cgi?search=yes&detail=yes&product=173-000-011
  10. They put that engine in the Yamaha Banshee ATV for a reason Dude, 1980 called and they want their camera back.
  11. Daylong makes a sport version of their seat which is much smaller though they don't guarantee "day long" comfort for sport seats
  12. Canada has a lot because in the US, road/licensed 2-strokes were essentially banned to EPA emission restrictions so they stopped selling them in US markets circa 1984. Bonus if you find a Kenny Roberts edition
  13. You can try an airhawk...that worked for me before I got the Day Long seat. Also, Seat Concepts sells cover/foam kits for many bikes and they aren't too expensive. Shouldn't take long to get one in. Worst case it comes in too late but you'll still have your seat so you'll be no worse off than before. Then all you need is access to a pneumatic stapler to do it yourself. I just did my XR seat with one, pretty easy - especially with a helper. I still have my airhawk that you can use if I can locate it in my parts warehouse Not sure if it will fit your seat right as there are different models for different bikes. I bought mine used and can't recall off the top of my head which model it is.
  14. I'd love to do this trip seeing as how I grew up in upstate NY. I've always wanted to ride up there (I moved away before I ever owned a street bike). I'm not sure I could swing the vacation time. The ride across NY is brutal too. I've driven from Cincinnati to Lake George and back probably a dozen times and it's always the longest part of the trip. NY State is massive.
  15. LOVE the RZ350's...when I was a kid thought they were the coolest bike ever. I saw one for sale online not too long ago...maybe on the advrider forum but I think it was on the west coast.
  16. Well, those that believe will argue people have out of body experiences when near death though I stick by more conventional explanations.
  17. Smoke/steam form the accident, an insect near the lens, dirty or scratched lens, light anomaly lens refraction, dirty image sensor, smudge on the window of the vehicle it was taken from, photoshopped, etc, etc. Many explanations more plausible than the one they elude to in the article. I bet the resulting fluid spill was in the shape of Jesus too...
  18. Less a poke at your stature and more at the mildness of the Tenere vs the 990 (hence the "pedals") Definitely...I think I'm going to do some off-road riding this Sunday and I'm having a minor surgery next week that will put me out of riding commission for a few weeks while I wear a boot
  19. Having the suspension dialed in makes a world of difference.
  20. When are you going to bring that Katoom over for me to ride? You can ride the Tenere if you can reach the pedals
  21. Put an ad on the advrider forum (linking to CL on there is not allowed). That site gets a lot of traffic and bikes of all types seem to sell pretty quickly.
  22. I have the very same bag on my Tenere...really nice if it works with your bike. Too bad it didn't work out for ya Tim.
  23. I've read a lot if great things about the VFR. A few guys one the FZ1 forum rave about them...would love to test ride one.
