  1. Congrats on the trip by yourself. Just how fatigued were you when you got home on a sport bike for that many miles? Do you have helibars on the bike or what's your setup like? Any mods to help out on the ergonomics? Never heard of a filter leaking before to be honest unless it was installed wrong. Don't know.
  2. I heard he just did some stunt work for the new James Bond movie coming out....???
  3. I have gotten rid of like 50 of those little nasty bugs around the house lately....
  4. You can ride there but you will either have to borrow some gas from someone or go fill back up at lunch time. I have ridden there and then take off my mirrors and tape everthing else up with blue painters tape. Nelson is not the best surface but it has a lot of grip and overall is a fun place. Its recommended to wear all the gear as well so a one piece suit is best but a 2 piece will work. Safety first. Check out the website for more info.
  5. That is a very cool bike for commuting. Love the trunk space and for the helmet storage, etc. The upright seating will make it more comfortable for longer rides. Will keep my eye open for more feedback on this ride for sure. Have fun riding it.
  6. Glad you are ok. Target fixation is a scary thing. It happened to me once but I kept it on the road and no one was coming. Doing a track day will help you experience what street riding won't. I recommend it. Your bike is more capable than you think and learning where that limit is important and can save your butt.
  7. Congrats!!! Nice bike for sure.
  8. Does anyone know if they charge the $10 gate fee on Friday night? That being for spectators.
  9. It was definitely worth the drive to go get it. Very nice, congrats!
  10. Yes, he went back to the 2014 frame...sounds like the frame and suspension setup might have something to do with some of his overall performance so far this year. Who knows??? Yamaha seems to have really dialed in their new bike and suspension this year.
  11. Exciting to watch the two battle for the win but if the outcome was different, sounds like the ruling would have been different.
  12. Few years ago...wife's car, (four door)...just bought it and got pulled over in Sandusky on our way to one of the water parks with the kids. Officer certainly profiled us and even fought through heavy traffic to turn around and pull me over. He said he noticed the dark tint on the front windows and measured the tint telling me it was 5% too dark on the front two windows. He let me off with a warning as we literally just bought the car a few weeks before. The car came with it tinted by the previous owner. I didn't know about tint laws in Ohio and the dealer apparently didn't either. The back windows there is no law in Ohio how dark they can be. The tint seemed to interfere with being able to see after dark when backing up at night so I removed the tint from just the front windows. Can't be pulled over now for that again. I don't know who did the work, though.
  13. Study the printed material from the OBMV to get your temps. Take the test and get your temps. Get registered to take the msf course through the OBMV or privately and they provide you the bike. They won't let you use your own bike anyway, especially a 500 or 600. They use smaller bikes for training purposes. Then you can pass the written test and the maneuverability test for your full endorsement on your driving license. If you know what bike you are buying call your insurance company ahead of time and work with your agent on getting a policy in place so you can insure it before riding it home after you transfer the title. Banks are a good place to find Notary Publics or the Title Bureau itself has them. Asking the seller how they want to do the transaction is always a good way to work it out so it's convenient for both parties involved. Good advice from others here too. Good luck on everything.
  14. Derek, thanks for sharing. Glad you guys had a safe trip and you enjoyed it. A trip for the bucket list for sure. Good pics too.
  15. Rob, sounded like fun but I spent the night working on the brakes on the car...hope it was fun. Fortunately, the pads were under warranty but the rotors were either shot or needing cleaned up.
  16. Ahhh...seller's remorse...there's only one fix for that. Another bike!
  17. Agree...good take away, Derek. Glad he was not hurt
  18. This is the most suspenseful thread I have ever read on this forum...LOL. You got everyone going Niven!!! Good job. Whatever your new ride is hope it fills your need to ride...bottom line. Suspense continues........

    Nope

I hate heights!!! What a rush though! Crazy.
  20. Since I discovered Nelson practically in my back yard and having gone several times to spectate and do a few track days myself since 2012, they have been charging the $10 gate fee to spectate. Don't mind paying it if as long as it goes back to the improvements. Todd and Motoseries are committed to making it a much better track. Would hate to see it waste away to nothing. It definitely has history with Paul Newman racing there back when. A lot of improvements have been made in terms of just someone caring about the conditions to trying to fix it. Keep up the good work guys.
  21. You are right. Freeways, night riding and passengers are all off limits for someone without the full motorcycle endorsement. Helmet is a requirement as well even for the first year of the endorsed rider. Regular 2 lane state roads are okay to ride.
  22. Was looking forward to the ride this year but will be out of town in Top Sail, NC for a beach wedding that weekend. Maybe another time.
