Not a fan of wet weather riding especially a whole day of it. I would vote to pick Sunday instead...understanding schedules for many would change. Weather looks to be wetter the further south you go.

I have had the some issues while riding with contacts. Dries out pretty quickly. I will bring my glasses just in case I have to ditch them.

there are a lot of good low mileage bikes out there. its not likely the speedometers are being tampered with. some bikes you can tell if they have been taken care of if the mileage matches.

Unfortunately, with over 200K miles, it probably isn't worth it if the body is going. You'd be ahead to either part it out or sell as a parts car unless you have a sentimental attachment.
