  1. Still pricey when you add the 2.5 second resolution option. Pilots will afford it but it's a bit steep for most 2-wheelers
  2. I'm def interested. Last year was fun, and Hoblick did an awesome job with the Shinko 705s on my CRF. I even witnessed enough to testify that he did own a V-Strom 650 for almost 7 minutes. [emoji23] Hoblick if you do do suspension setups, I'll gladly bring cash, but it's your call. Like Pokey alluded to, it can be a little distracting vs. focusing on tire changes.
  3. If the shop is willing to make good, act fast and handle it unemotionally and without legal wrangling. A lot of times people and companies will act their best when they know it's in their best interest. If they come out smelling like a reputable rose on this, be sure the rest of us know exactly who they are - the world needs more shops willing to do the right thing. I.e. accidents should be rare, but when they happen, the true character of a dealer is in how they handle them.
  4. IMHO an absolutely beautiful bike. GLWS! I believe this is the engine the Scrambler Ducati uses in a slightly detuned form.
  5. Absolutely, and get your Information Security or Risk departments involved if I.T. decides to be lazy about it. Frame it as concern over your own security and your company's potential liability if something bad happens, since they issued the device.
  6. A TBS during the first 600 mile maintenance? On my DL650 I just needed to change the oil and oil filter, then check a bunch of bolts and fluid levels. Took 2 hours total and that was mainly because I took my time and got her tipsy first. That said, if it's in the manual, I'd spring the $230 and have it done by a PRO and I mean a pro, not some farm-fresh kid who's never done it on this model. And if you want to do it yourself, call me - I have a carb sync tool and experience with an '85 4-cylinder Honda. Or see if CSC will do it in 2 weeks at his shindig?
  7. I'm still planning to ride in on the Strom if the weather cooperates. The more miles before the end of the month's Romney camp-and-ride, the better.
  8. Wow, amazing work-up. Race that bitch and keep it in the house for display when it's done.
  9. Let's start with your bikes, cash savings and left nut for ascendancy to level 17, then we'll talk again. BTW we price match Moonies, Scientologists, Hare Krishnas and Mormons if you're comparison shopping.
  10. I have afternoon off but have to take the dog for a checkup [emoji24]
  11. If none of that works, then it was just your un-salvageable, wretched soul that deserved the malady. You just didn't commit enough of your faith, and those toxic worldly possessions, towards your own transcendent salvation. There's a devil inside you boy, and we just might have time to save your soul with the requisite commitment from you. Can I get an amen brutha?!
  12. Agreed. And make sure you pick up some cleansing essential oils and Quartz necklaces to prevent cancer while you're at it. Because they wouldn't give advice that keeps them in business.
  13. Silly CSC, *vaccinations* cause arterial damage. [emoji13] Well, at least medical misconceptions on motorcycle forums.
  14. Where did your patience with obstinate overreach all of a sudden come from? Are we going to have to stage an OR intervention on you CSC??
  15. I love this thread. I welcomed a fellow OR member as a new employee today. And I submitted a proposal that may create 3 more jobs. Fingers crossed. Good day.
  16. I'm sorry to hear CSC. Hopefully you're out clearing your head with a nice long ride.
  17. Wicked cool! Once I get my 1966 CB77 back together, let's roll.
  18. I wouldn't count the following as necessarily the BEST from each respective manufacturer, but they sure scratch an itch for me... BMW: Anything GS for their utility, any R series from the 70s for sheer beauty and several of the K series would make an awesome sport touring bike Triumph: If they make the Bonneville with ABS next year, I might have to finally bite. I love that bike, including their scrambler model, but I can't see spending nearly 10k for something without ABS - the CB1100 is a better pick for now, as is the Scrambler Ducati if you can get into its weird styling Honda: I really respect their balance of engineering simplicity, reliability and value. Not always the top styling and certainly not the cutting edge style wise these days with the exception of the great CB1100. They should be ashamed of themselves for lagging in the mid-sized scrambler and ADV trends given what they could do with the CB500 platform Harley: I have to admit that I'd probably totally enjoy a white Road King. Sure, it would be fat, heavy, expensive and a PIA to keep clean but they have amazing lines and can be exceedingly-well equipped for long trips. Still, I'd probably be better off with a BMW GS or K-series tourer for more upright ergos for my neck issues Yamaha: Star Bolt C-Spec. I'll probably catch shit for that one but I think it's underrated especially against the HD Sportster. Moto Guzzi: V7 Stone with a few personalizations. I know, not the best performer and doesn't have ABS but they really nailed the hipster/cafe style while delivering what should be reliable modernity. Fits my body nicely, at least in the showroom. There are so many more, but those are the ones getting my eye at the moment. Still in love with my DL650 though - I can't wait to spend another summer with her. :-)
  19. I am hoping it was sarcasm given that he owns a Ninja.
  20. Challenged! My weapon choice? Peanut-buttered toast. I fart in your general direction... Shit just got real, yo.
  21. That's how I feel as well and I bet he does a lot of time. Too bad it'll be on top of what he claims was torture at Taliban hands, but if he did desert, that was a consequence he had to know was possible. It's just that some folks elsewhere (older generation, far-right ex-soldiers) took an immediate position that he should be left to rot in Leavenworth for desertion or hung for treason. I think that would have been like lynching a Ferguson cop before the investigation was over.
  22. In an ultra-conservative gun forum I visit, that kind of talk will get you banned. Guess how I know ;-)
  23. Might be closer to $50,000 once you FAA TSO the thing, run lines to a crash-resistant cockpit voice recorder, etc.
