Just for fun. Pick a car from the list ive made. All the cars are under 20k dollars and varry in mileage but mostly under 75k miles. Theres all types of cars. Coupes, roadsters, sedans, convertables, RWD, AWD, FWD, 4,6,8cyls., etc. Pick one and explain why you chose that one. Also listed are pros and cons and reasoning for why these cars made the list. Honda S2k - pros: small/nimble, good hp from an NA 4cyl, on the cheaper side. cons: too small for me maybe, its still a Honda, 2 seater. 03-04 Mustang Cobra - pros: i love mustangs, rare, easily modified for big numbers, could actually keep this longer than a couple years and still be happy with it. cons: pricey. 99-04 Mustang Bullit - pros: its a stang, somewhat rare, diff than just a regular GT. cons: can it be S/C with the shaker?, still not the cobra. 93+ RX7 - pros: looks good, rare. cons: rotary=idk anything about them, heard there difficult to work on. 04-09 Mazdaspeed 3 - pros: good looking car, cheapish, could be used for more than just a toy. cons: FWD, seems like power could be limited. 93-98 Mazda MX6 - pros: got an emotional attachment cuz it was my first "tuner", very cheap, not everybody has one. cons: FWD, limited potential, cost alot to get it up to par with stock better cars. 3000gt/stealth (awd) - pros: AWD. cons: doesnt necesarily excite me Mitsubishi EVO - pros: AWD, dual purpose, lots of potential. cons: Pricey Eclipse (awd) - pros: same as 3000gt plus cons: pricey for an eclipse, feel like i would outgrow it very soon. 93+ 240sx - pros: RWD, seems fun to drive. cons: not sure its even what im looking for, could get bored with easily. Nissan 350z - pros: RWD, good numbers out the box cons: 2 seater Subby STI - pros: AWD, dual purpose fam car cons: hear there expensive 93+ Supra - pros: who doesnt want a supra? cons: pricey galore

Last summer i requested to be transferred to another Task Force that was leaving sooner and was supposed to have a better mission than the unit i was with. In August i MOB'd out of Camp Shelby MS and got to Afghanistan in early November. Turns out our mission got changed and we got shafted anyways, go figure. In Jan, the rest of our Battalion (my original Task Force) arrived in Afghanistan, including my old Company. This past Wednesday, my company was hit by a suicide bomber on a motorcycle. It killed 3 soldiers and wounded many others. I heard of 2 of the KIAs (not releasing names) and knew one of them. Its not like we were best friends but i knew him, seen him around on drill weekends etc. Now the part that realy gets to me is, there medic, who just arrived a month or two before deploying, was injured in the attack. Again, i knew of him but wasnt buddy buddy or anything. Anyways, it had me thinking that it could have easily been me in his boots. Had i not transferred, that could have been me that got injured/killed. I dont know yet how bad his injuries are or who the others are that were injured/killed, but it just kind of makes your skin tingle when you think that it could have been you. I feel weird about the whole thing and find myself wondering what if. I guess all i can do is thank God that things worked out the way they did and i was spared in a way. Im not trying to turn this into something about me, im just feeling fortunate yet guilty in a way. It could have very easily been one of the other medics out here that got switched too, but just knowing that one of us medics could have switched spots kind of opens your eyes a bit. Either way i pary for a speedy recovery for those injured and RIP to those who made the ultimate sacrafice.

The new park is awesome (won 2009 best ball park and even beat out the new yankee stadium). Theres not a bad seat in the house. Ill deff be out to see a few games when i return. Only disappointed that there no longer affiliated with the Yankees.

Already took R&R in Dec to see the birth of my son. Was only in theater for 1 month lol. Makes for a loooooooong rest of deployment. As for the orders, it sounds like theyre putting them in soon but almost sounds like we dont have to pay for them till we get back (Sept). Theyre not very clear on anything around here.

The car looks good, its RWD and its as cheap as your going to get a new car these days for what it offers. I think its a good starting point with plenty of room for potential (HP). Could be fun and nimble. just my 2cents.

The way the unit is making it sound is that were going to buy them while over here then recieve them when we get home. If not then yea, i would love to shoot it first. Thanks.
-
Well if its going to only be $400 like the unit is predicting then it seems worth a try at the very least. And thanks for the thoughts, that was my old company. I was suposed to be with them but volunteered for this task force because we was going to be here sooner. Hard hit regardless.

Yea i hear there huge, but i plan on using it primarily for home defense and maybe a winter carry. Do the back straps make a difference with the grip like on the M&Ps?
-
For our Company "memory piece" from this shitty deployment, were getting Glock 21's (full size 45). They're suposably only going to be $400-500 so i figured i would get one considering there so cheap and if i ended up not liking it then i could turn it for a profit. I know some love em and some hate em. Never fired one though but i hear there extremely reliable and extremely minimalist. Any ways, looking to hear personal pros and cons of the gun. They was originally going to go with some 1911s but they was going to be OD Green with some lame ass Company or platoon engraving so nobody wanted it. Thanks in advance. -Hahn

Looks great, i like the child hand prints on the valve cover, cool idea. -
At this point in time, i realy dont think its going to happen just because of the storage issue. But i will have one at some point, and i agree with Paul, Alumn and Buckeye are plenty big enough for what i would want out of it.

I have had a couple diff cars but nothing fun untill i bought my 93 Mazda MX6. The car to most people is nothing special being a FWD v6 but i loved it. It was something to mess with and my first car i could actually modify to my liking. Unfortunatley 2 engines in a row gets costly and weddings are expensive so i sold it. Often think about getting another one but i cant even find one thats half as clean as mine was. And now i realize the next car will have to be something RWD/AWD and something i plan on keeping for almost ever.

well.........its deffinitley bobbed out

Good point, but now i have to recruit friends with boats. As far as where im at in life, i think not owning a home with space to store a boat is another big factor i didnt realy take into consideration. Also, i didnt realy considering renting a boat which seems like a great idea. Great information that i was looking for. It makes since to get a pontoon or deck boat for what i want to do, but now having all the other costs pointed out to me, i just dont know if its something i can get into right now. As much money as it costs to run a boat for just one trip along with storage fees since i dont have space to store it all adds up quick on top of just the cost of the boat. Now knowing all this i think its safe to say ill have to wait for the right time a little later in life to consider a boat. Thanks for all the good input fellas, much appreciated.
-
Ok well this has been disapointing. Deff expected more pros for the boating scene. But no questions answered and it sounds like you lose money regardless.
-
I listed 4 possibe boats. Just wondering if these fit the critieria for what i want to do with a boat. Just trying to get some answers on something i have no idea about.
-
Not alot of good things being said here about boats.
