  1. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.....,(unless it involves saving your infant son's life).
  2. Nice bike. Welcome.
  3. If anyone has any hard feeling for Gee, I have two words for you: Karen Holbrook. I guarantee Gee will never complain about "drunken orgees" to another academic institution. OSU is a better institution for having his 2 terms as president. Too bad he couldn't practice a little more self censorship. Now, he needs to rescind his apology to Brett Bielema.
  4. +1. I enjoy my smh10. The latest firmware updates allow the use of ear plugs and still hear the music clearly. I have had phone calls while riding down the freeway, and the other person couldn't tell that I was riding a motorcycle.
  5. You probably won't go wrong with any of these sport touring bikes. They are by nature fun to ride, and they are set up for long distance touring. No one of them is perfect for everyone. When I was looking for one, I would occasionally come across some reasonably priced FJRs. I saw a couple in the 4k to 5k price range. The FJR has been around since 2003. Good Luck on finding one that fits your needs.
  6. Nice find. It would be interesting to see a poll on this topic. I have helmet speakers and still use earplugs to prevent hearing damage from wind noise.

    PR3's on CBR

I have slightly over 10,000 miles on my front PR3, and it is time to switch it out. The rear tire will not last as long as the front tire. I have ridden in heavy rain a number of times, and the PR3s perform really well.
  8. What is the name of the brewery?
  9. I don't trust a pro to ride my bike in this competition, so I will not be entering my stock Honda Rebel.
  10. I don't think the rider in that video has the ability to walk and chew gum at the same time. The MSF is must for every rider.
  11. My family goes up there to camp for a long weekend every year. Our kids can float on river raft tubes, and the adults can float while having a few beers. We do use a floating cooler and solo cups. We always have a lot of fun. FWIW, we usually camp at the state camp ground.
  12. Rule #2: Always follow rule # 1, and you will be much more likely to wear the gear. ATGATT. I don't like to buy certain items over the internet, like gloves and helmets. They all fit a little different, and it is better that you get the best product for your comfort.
  13. Congrats. Engineering degrees are difficult.
  14. Very interesting, but seems like it should get more than 16.67 HP per cylinder.
  15. Guy at the bar told me that an HD sportster was the best.
  16. Radar detector. Last time there, we saw a ton of cops.
  17. The problem is that the sprayer could change lanes, and the rider would be toast. I bet it would have been funny to hear the farmer tell the story later that night.
  18. To put the cost of the class in perspective, it is far cheaper than getting in a wreck while trying to learn the basics of riding a motorcycle on the street. $200 won't buy a band aid in a hospital.
  19. The Guhl reflash is a great modification on a number of Kawasakis. I had it done on my Concours. The secondary butterflies limited power low in the rpms. After the reflash, it felt significantly better. This big bike will even pull the front end up.
  20. It only let me vote a few times, then it quit adding them to the total. Good Luck!
  21. A buddy and I went for a weekend trip for another buddies bachelor party. We rode motorcycles and brought them onto the island. We had our fill on the Friday night. We decided to leave on Saturday instead of the Sunday. We both had enough of overpriced beer, and it was a sausage-fest of DBs. Taking the long way home on motorcycles was the more desirable choice for both of us. Plus my fridge has an excellent beer selection, and the wife was happy to see me.
  22. To get more comfortable handling corners, you may want to pick up a copy of Keith Code's Twist of the Wrist 2. It is a good book that teaches the proper techniques for motorcycle cornering. I found it to be a useful resource. The movie version of the book has been posted to YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVWNinsmkAw As far as the ram-mounts, the are very popular and effective. I love mine.
